Darien Hunan Kitchen

While this is an Asian fusion restaurant that covers staples from several countries I have to say I had some excellent sushi there last night. I ordered the yellowtail jalapeno appetizer and had toro and raw scallop sashimi which they torched and smoked. It was all excellent. They also offered an omakase menu which I will be sure to try next time. Very impressed and wasn’t expecting it to be this good. Fish was incredibly fresh and well prepared and seasoned. Will be going back - a lot!

Absolutely delicious! I have been on a hunt for amazing authentic Chinese food and finally found it. Reminds me of the childhood fried rice I used to eat. Sesame chicken was delicious and made with white meat. Dumplings were great!

I found an issue with the reviews about this restaurant. Those negative reviews are deleted and reappeared every once in a while, which is definitely problematic. Perhaps someone intentionally did this. But I strongly recommend the Amazing Roll Sushi Dinner from this store, which is very delicious

I called for take out from here the other day and it was so good! I have been struggling to find good Chinese food in the Darien/Rowayton area for the past year and I’m so glad Hunan Kitchen has opened. The hostess was so friendly and the food was delicious and fresh. I got the chicken and broccoli and pan fried dumplings. Definitely will be going back to try more!

I went there alone for an early dinner on a cold, rainy April afternoon. I ordered Fried Pork Dumplings and General Tso’s Chicken. At any decent Darien restaurant, one should expect a pleasant, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and excellent food. That’s what I got. So Thumbs Up…I’ll be back.

Food is delicious and tastes “fresh”, without feeling overdone with all the sugar, salt, grease that can sometimes happen with Chinese food. Really great sushi as well. Please please please provide a delivery option!!

This place is really excellent - best pan-Asian cuisine in the area. The food is very fresh, flavorful and satisfying. The service was outstanding. The restaurant is clean and modern. A great experience and we can’t wait to go back.

I organized a company lunch and tried Darien Hunan Kitchen for the first time. Yubi helped me to pick out the best lunch options for us. Delivered it with a smile. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. We will be going back! Thank you!

My family loves Chinese and Japanese food. We were exited to see this restaurant in town. The reviews were rough but turns out the food was delicious, the service was good, and we are going to go back again! My guess would be the negative reviews have to be fake. We had a full meal with drink, appetizers, and dinner in 45 minutes despite one of the reviews saying they got their water after one hour. Highly recommend.

Ordered takeout, it was ready in 15 minutes. The food was fantastic. Great steamed dumplings and wonton soup. Great fresh and delicious Chinese food. Will be regulars going forward.

This new place is soft opening status, over all they is not completely ready to serve but the food is quit bit in better quality hopefully this place can be straight it out when they GRAND OPENING
