Spice Indian Cuisine & Bar

I think this place needs more love from the people of Bethel. We went to Spice for the first time last night and we were very impressed. The food and drinks were incredible. As someone who can’t handle spice myself, the chicken tikka masala was delicious. My fiancé opted for a spicier dish and he said it was amazing, just the perfect amount of spice. The naan bread was fluffy and warm and the atmosphere was very good.

Just enjoyed lunch at this spot as it was a good meeting place for our group from New York and Rhode Island. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and the servers were friendly and helpful. A definite place to visit again!

I got the Lamb Phaal and it was phenomenal. Just the right amount of spice (a lot but just a little less than too much). The ingredients are clearly VERY high quality and it was prepared perfectly. I got three meals out of it - dinner, then breakfast and lunch, because I needed to make sure it didn't languish in my fridge like leftovers all too often do.

I absolutely will be back.

Wonderful people. Always leave with a full belly, a spicy container of leftovers, and a smile on my face. You can tell they truly care about their patrons.

Spice restaurant is amazing, we had okra, salmon with coconut curry with basmati rice, chicken tandoori, everything thing was so delicious serve was excellent, they order indoor and outdoor dining,we would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Love having an Indian restaurant in Bethel. Not only do we have one but it's really good! The food was great. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife had the chicken kurma. Both were great. I can't wait to go again.

Order the Dosa. Everything was delicious but the Dosa was out of this world. Thank you for such amazing food.

Spice offers a delicious selection of traditional and authentic Indian cuisine. From the mild to spicey, there is something for everyone to try and enjoy! If you haven't been, I highly reccomend it! Favorites are the Korma, Madras, Tikka Masala, Lasuni Gobi, Garlic Naan and more!

Really good food. Try the chili chicken. Very friendly staff! Chef is Sri Lankan so if you want something Sri Lankan let him know. He might hook you up!

Spice stands out among other restaurants in Bethel. It's consistently delicious and the menu has a ton of options for vegetarians. We get samosas, mango lassi, and naan to start. I like the way they rate their spice levels. You can get dishes mild to extra spicy. Service is always quick and attentive.

From the atmosphere to the service to the food, this place is amazing. I love how warm and homey it feels in there, and everyone was so nice and attentive! We had vegetable samosas, naan, garlic naan, chicken tikka saag, and mamsa koori. It was the perfect spot for a Saturday date night. I can’t wait to go back!

Some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten! A friend and I ate in person last Saturday night and we both felt very safe with tables more than 6 ft apart and the staff all wearing masks. It's safer than going to a grocery store. The food was excellent, and by eating in person we were able savor the hot out of the oven naan, tandoori and curry dishes with no delivery sogginess. With mild, medium and spicy dishes, so you can choose your heat level, protein or go for a vegetarian option. The owner was extremely friendly and when ordering a martini, I received not only one drink, but the shaker with another 1.5 drinks as well - all for $12! Please patronize this wonderful restaurant - it's excellent and they need your help if they are going to survive!

I live walking distance to Spice and since they opened I've been telling myself have to go and try it! Welp This was our first visit why it took us so long to try is really beyond me 😅 we went a little on the later side around 9pm wasn't to busy but that's because there were things going on in town and town over. I prefer not to busy because you get a feel for the place,and it's a little more intimate not hearing everyone's conversations bouncing off the walls. There is also option to eat outside which was nice,but we sat inside at the bar.
We both got drinks my Hubby got a martini I cannot rememeber the name it had coconut in it,I had the Mango madras SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOD! They didn't skimp on anything even the alcohol which I've noticed most places tend to do.
For food we started off with the vegetable samosas they were very delicious the sauces that come with it I have no idea what they are one was definitely cilantro, all these flavors together was insane each sauce brought a different, very balanced yet enhanced flavor to the samosas I was blown away! Then we got Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Tikka Masala,garlic Naan,and cheese Naan. If your not good with spice pay attention to the flame markers on some of the dishes haha the chicken vindaloo had 2 flame. We love spicy so it wasn't a problem for us. It was BEAUTIFULY made,so delicious,the chicken was so tender,the sauce spicy,bright red,creamy,hint of sweetness and a whole lot of tastiness! The chicken Tikka masala I couldn't stop the sauce so creamy,sweet,all the flavors just works beyond anything I have ever tasted in my life! The Naan don't even get me started 🤣 if you're even thinking about trying this place don't doubt it and GOOOO you won't regret it!
We are definitely going back and determined to try everything on their menu.
I also thought it was awesome that the chef came out to speak to us!!! I wish I could have put into better words how delicious the food was but all I could muster was oooh its so delicious.
I hope that they continue to thrive,and make delicious food!

My initial visit was right after they opened and it was a bit off but I vowed to return. I had dinner there last night and it was amazing. I had a shrimp dish which was very flavorful. The shrimp were quite large and very fresh. We had several appetizers as well and they all hit the mark. The owner Sherwin was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. A wonderful addition to the great Bethel restaurant scene! We will be returning very soon! Great job Sherwin!!!

Great atmosphere and even better food. We got the vegetable samosas and 2 vegetable entrees. Both were exceptional. You need to try the onion and cilantro naan bread as well- the best naan I've ever had. The price was good especially for Indian food as we paid $53 for an app, 2 entrees, and 2 naan breads. I will be coming back!

We ordered several items and all were delicious. My favorite was the fish curry, the right amount of spice. The drinks were AMAZING. I would recommend coming here tou cant go wrong.

Friends of ours from Bethel recommended Spice and we ordered tonight for the first time. We did so online only to find out they weren't quite set up yet for 3rd party delivery so there was a small mixup. I called and they let me know they'd get back to me. They called minutes later to say they would have someone deliver from the restaurant directly and the food was amazing. I'm super impressed with how they went out of their way to make good on an unexpected situation while getting setup for online ordering. HIGHLY recommend not just for the food but this is clearly a business that does things the right way. I can't wait to go in person!

Delicious Indian food in CT!

Decided to cheat on our usual Indian spot and came here for the first time and ordered some takeout.

I really wish we could’ve enjoyed the full covid-less experience because I think this is a really perfect date night spot. It’s got great ambiance and the staff is just amazing. Definitely a place to come back to to be able to actually have the full experience along with visual plating. I feel like that always elevates your food even more.

The prices were a little higher than other restaurants of this kind that I’ve been to, perhaps a tad bit more of what I would’ve liked to pay for take out but still. We treated ourselves as an at home date night and it was perfect.

Their style of cooking is a little bit different than what I’m used to but nevertheless the dhal makhani and malai kofta were delicious. A different version but still delicious.

So happy that places like these are still open and we can still support them despite it all. Our meal paired very well with a nice bottle of wine and some Bollywood music for ambiance. Can’t travel to India or dine in now but our taste buds sure did after coming to this delicious Indian restaurant.
