My husband and I were looking for a Christmas Day date night restaurant and so we came here. Not many places were open Christmas Day so it was great to find a restaurant that was. The service was great, the staff were super sweet and clear on what could be made. And the restaurant display for Christmas was so breathtaking. I’m so glad that the restaurant wasn’t just pretty, but that the food was also delicious. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Only downside was tight parking spots but at least there were parking spots available and they were open on Christmas Day so I can’t complain.

Family favorite for over 50 years. Had their Roman Feast with wine pairing in celebration of their 80th birthday; And my parents' 50th and aunt & uncle's 55th anniversaries. Food was wonderful. Wine pairing was a very good value. Staff was attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommended. Never been disappointed.

We celebrated Valentine’s Day here on 2/18 . We found those pictures from Facebook reminder. Nice restaurant , good food and good service here.

Carbones was great! Amazing meal, excellent service, & delicious drinks (stuffed olive dirty martini). Very impressed overall! Can't wait to return!

Went for their 80th anniversary special. 7 course tasting and wine pairing. Food and service were excellent.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Hartford area.

First timer. Everything was fantastic! Manhattan-great, Calamari-great. Fillet Mignon with Lobster-Perfect. Dessert-again, great. Service was, yes, Great. Cakebread Wine topped it off.

Best customer service, great quality of food, prices are really good and the environment is phenomenal. Recommended!

We had a delightful dinner for two on a Friday night. Service was prompt. Menu was varied. Not ideal for a vegetarian, but I managed. Meat lovers will rejoice there. Prices reasonable for NYC dining. Good wine list. Great desserts. Tables were a nice distance apart and the background music wasn't too loud, so you could actually have a conversation. Will definitely eat there again.

We chose here for our date night and were happy to also discover it was restaurant week. From the greeting at the door to the wait staff being friendly we were anticipating a great meal and weren’t disappointed. The portions were smaller than normal but to be expected for restaurant week. Regardless every mouthful was divine and we left completely satisfied. The ambience made for a wonderful date night and the food worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

Attended a business luncheon with a large group. The salad and dessert choices were fixed with a choice of three entrees- beef, chicken or fish. Pasta was also served family style. The food was fantastic! The service was excellent! This was my third time here and I plan to come back for dinner sometime.

Amazing food with excellent service!

Excellent from start to finish. Great service from our waiter Scott, table of 14 was handled easily. Apps and dinners were hot and delectable. The tableside salads and deserts were a bonus. Old style comforts from the bread dipping oil to not adding a tip which is often none elsewhere on big tables....makes you feel the attention they gave us was earned, and it was. Will be returning soon.

Service impeccable & everything we ordered was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered clams casino which were delicious. They were tender & not fishy. We had table side salads prepared, Caesar & Spinach. Fantastic & very accommodating in substituting due to diet restrictions or just preference. My sister & niece had tenderloins & I had the grilled veal chop which was tender & juicy. Simply mouthwatering with asparagus and mashed potatoes. For desert we had the chocolate, hazelnut ganach dessert which was out of this world.
I highly recommend Carbone's in Hartford.

The bread isn't bad and their dipping sauce is decent but I think the waitress thought she was overwhelming us with this mouth watering oil for our bread and it too lacked a little flavor. We started off our meal with the meatball app-I don't know what it is but finding a great meatball outside of home is truly difficult! This meatball had some potential-had good flavor but it was tough-you struggled cutting it with a fork!

I've been wanting to check this place out for some time now, we were not disappointed! Everyone was very courteous, the food was fantastic, and the wine selection was long and had plenty of great options within a range of prices. When we got there it was quite busy but it didn't feel crowded at all. I'm glad to see these old Little Italy places still thriving.

Great service, great food. Everything came cooked perfectly & perfect temperature. Atmosphere was nicely lit, very nice ambiance. Parking was limited, so most ppl have to park on the street, not a fan. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

We believe this place has rightfully earned all of its five star reviews. We primarily come here for lunch, but the service is perfect, the food is always very good to excellent, and the prices are very reasonable for the experience.
There are a lot of great places on Franklin Avenue, but I understand why this place tends to be considered the premier place for Italian food in the area.
