Eye Opener

I needed GI Joe #107 (1989), and they had it. I went there, and they had it marked for $18 and got it for $15. Nice high grade book that was going for around $30 + shipping on eBay. Great prices and filled with older comics, golden to modern plus whatever is new now. Highly recommend this shop. Go to the back of the plaza, and you will see the sign.

This is a great comic store. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Good selection of new and old comics. They have lots of other cool items here as well. This is a great place to take a kid and bond. My kid brother, whom is nine years younger than I am, still has great memories of him and I going to comic stores and conventions.
When my son was a kid, the owner would give him good deals. This was at the old location on the other side of the building. They have since moved and are near the cake place, no longer neighboring the pizza restaurant.
Comics are a fantastic way to get a kid into reading, that otherwise may not be all that interested in it. I would think with all the movies that are comic based, there should still be some heavy interest in comics, both Marvel and D.C. alike.

This is a wonderful comic shop. Fair priced books and I was able to dig up some obscure back issues I had been looking for a long time. The owner is super nice as well, we had a great little chat about Comet Man - anyone who knows who Comet Man is is good in my book!

This was my first visit, it’s a bit of a drive for me, but I will absolutely be back!

Great old school comic book store , great staff

A fantastic store! I visited for the first time today and was greeted with welcoming and helpful descriptions of the different sections of the shop. What was more impressive to me was the organization. This is the cleanest and most organized comic store I have been to in my life. After just a moment, just about anybody would know the exact spot to look for their book of choice. Using the store's system, I was able to find a comic I've been wanting a copy of for years (Daredevil 179) and bought it at a fantstic price. Eye Opener is the type of store that earns regulars with ease. Could not recommend higher!

One of the best comic shops in CT. Always friendly and helpful. Large selection of old and new comics and collectibles. Best part is they are always putting out new stock. They price comics on the spot but are always fair and reasonable. Take a trip, you wont be disappointed.

Sometimes, I’ll go to a comic shop and sure, the sign SAYS it’s a comic shop, but what it actually is is a funko pop anime tee shirt animal crossing beanie store with a small selection of current titles and overpriced hardcovers. This is not one of those. The Eye Opener is an honest-to-goodness Comic Shop. ‘nuff said

We found this place by accident, but boy -we're sure were glad we did! Great selection, super friendly owner who was patient with my autistic 15 yr old son who had many questions, so that was great to see , and he even went down on the price of one of my sons comic books that we purchased , which i had no idea such little flaws in the comic would bring down the value so he could of definitely charged me full price and i would not of known the difference, thats a plus for me! Definitely will be a reoccurring customer!😃

Eye Opener can be tricky to find (attached to a pizza place, in the back), but worth it. It's an old school shop with tons of back issues and gold & silver age fodder in shelves around the walls. While there are toys in the shop, they are kept to a minimum. This is a comic shop first and foremost. I'm a Daredevil addict and was pleasantly surprised when I went to the appropriate section to find a healthy (and nearly complete) run of DD starting in the double digits. When I expressed dismay and not finding certain issues, I was informed that there was "more" in the back. The owner happily fished out another DD box with the real gold in it. His prices are reasonable and he is ready to deal. There really isn't many prices on back issues, so you have to take it to the front for grading, but they are pretty tough on grading and I generally get better prices than I expected to. Haven't sold anything there yet, but a few trades went well and were definitely fair. The seem to really push the bundled sets of comics (usually 4-6 issue runs of a particular storyline) at a discounted rate. While not organized at all, these sets are great if you happen to need them and want to save money off of cover. Anyway, this is a great store. If you need back issues, or new ones, I would recommend it highly.

Great local comic book store. I take my nephew here on a regular basis and he loves it. The owner is very nice and helpful. The prices are reasonable and they will negotiate on prices. A must stop if your in the area and like comics and such.

They are awesome here! They have a great selection. Everyone is very nice and professional. They give great deals! My son loves all the comic books from here. Will continue coming here.

The people who work there are super nice. They never make me feel unwelcome as a woman (an issue I've had with other comic shops). They have great selections and will find stuff for you if they don't have it.

Great prices and selection. Not your average store with book case after book case of trade paperbacks. Back issue comics galore! Art, the owner, is the man!

Great place for comics. They have an end of the month event. Used to come hear as a kid more than 25 years ago. Still a great place!

When I first wanted to get into comics I was a little nervous walking in there, but Braulio the store employee made me feel welcome and helped me figure out what I liked and helped me into the right direction, and awesome guy if you ask me. I had then met Art who helped me set up my own pull list. Best decision I ever made. Art has always given me fair prices on books even a few specific books such as the marriage of Peter Parker and Marry Jane. This is always my go to comic shop and I love the employees and the people that go there. Art even lets you talk with other customers and have friendly debates over characters or discuss books. It's a very friendly environment and would tell any beginner or any collector to go to the Eye Opener Comics and see Art and Braulio. Amazing guys and awesome store

Cozy little comic book store where you can browse purchase special order, chat and just geek out. Spent minutes or hours in the owner and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Its a little slice of comic-book heaven for all you purist out there. Its a cozy little well organized store.

I've been going since I was eight years old and I can genuinely say it's one of my favorite places in the world.

You will not find a better comic store within the boundaries of this state but don't take my word for it.
