We wanted to try them for a while now. Only regret was we didn’t come here sooner. Warm, friendly greeting from the staff after we told them it’s a first time there, & were helpful in making our selection. Food was valid. We got Spicy Jeff with scrambled egg & lemon pie, both were delicious. We will definitely return & will recommend to friends.

Going to the sloppy waffle is always a blast. They have a great selection for brunch items. Getting into the restaurant can be a bit confusing, with waiting for tables and ordering being separate, but the staff are kind and want to help you figure it out. We got a the blueberry blast waffle and the very berry crepe. The waffle was incredible. I will definitely be ordering one again. The crepe was not great. It was crispy! But the fillings were delicious. Highly recommend for a great breakfast.

It's one of those places that's strict about how you order your food, which I understand can be frustrating for a certain kind of patron but if you come from the perspective of food as an art, or food as an experience, you are meant to enjoy it as the artist has carefully curated it for you and deviating from that will not guarantee your food is enjoyed to its full potential. Even as a picky eater, I have to validate that perspective. I'm sure there's wiggle room on some dishes but don't try it with the sloppy waffle! It's a small business so what they lack in service, they make up for in their diligent hard work and delicious food. The fun and quirky signs with sayings on the wall add an element of familiarity and warmth to the atmosphere.
Expecting the same type of atmosphere and service as an IHOP from The Sloppy Waffle is the mistake a lot of previous reviewers have made. The staff isn't necessarily going to be as large or as quick, and maybe that's not a bad thing. Relax. Slow down, enjoy a waffle and a cup of coffee.
I will say I'm not a fan of eating off of disposable plates. I'm sure it works well for the food truck and takeout, but for dining in, I want to eat off ceramic and I know I'm not the only one.

Absolutely delicious food. My son had the peanut butter cup waffle, my dad had the chicken and waffle, and I split an omelet with my daughter.

Even the plain buttered toast was INCREDIBLE. We can't wait to go back!!

Great place for breakfast. I loved the fresh baked and toasted bread with honey 🍯. The bacon and eggs were very good. The home fries were ok. The atmosphere was fun. Our waitress Julie was awesome. Would definitely eat here again.

Great breakfast spot. The owner is a great lady, they definitely take care of you in there. Great service, great food.

First time here and was definitely pleased with the apple cobbler waffle! After seeing it on their menu I absolutely had to try it and was not disappointed! I was surprised to see there was more to the building than what you see from the road. They had an adorable patio set up in the back. My friend and I have been trying a new breakfast place every time we get together all over newington and wethersfield and this is the first place we found that we cannot wait to go back to! Can't wait to try something else next time!

Always clean and friendly. This is my to-go spot. 4% extra charge if you use card which they tell you about when paying. You really get that small family owned vibe. And the food is amazing.

Nice cute place to visit for a hearty breakfast. Breakfast options are great but waffles are awesome. Servers are nice and courteous. Interiors are cute with nice quotes all around on the walls. This places is open for half a day so check timings before you go !!

The berry crepes were out of this world! The freshness of this food doesn’t compete! After Covid a lot of restaurants have been using less quality ingredients but not the sloppy waffle! The hype is real! The coffee was amazing so good I needed a second lol the owner “Lucy” is so personable & kind. I’d definitely go back & I’ve been ranting to everyone about it all day ❤

What an amazing breakfast experience!!! I got a chicken and waffle and the Mrs. got The Sloppy Waffle! I heard it from a lovely server that it's possible to get a Sloppy Chicken Waffle!!!! Next time I'm back in Hartford, this is my new go to breakfast joint!!! The servers and kitchen staff are SUPER nice and friendly, what a wonderful way to start the day!

The staff is extremely kind and even on a busy Sunday, it was an incredible experience. Food was outstanding. The Pancake Roll was phenomenal. Chicken and Waffles is the dish that when I return I will be ordering again. 🥰

Was in town for a concert and stopped here for breakfast before driving home. Absolutely amazing food, service was wonderful. Can't possibly say enough good things!

Just visited this place and I now have a new favorite breakfast spot! I am overwhelmingly impressed with the food here, from the quantity, pricing, quality, and creativity of the menu choices. I read some other poor reviews and can say first hand that i did not witness any of that. The owner is super friendly and genuinely appreciated our business! I would hands down recommend this place to anyone, already looking forward to my next visit 😊!

(3.19.21) I tried Sloppy Waffle for the first time as a suggestion from some friends. This was a fantastic experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone that's looking for phenomenal food.

We had a party of 6 and called ahead to check to see if they could seat all of us. They had an availability for us. We arrived around 10:00am and were seated shortly. Lucy had a great system and was able to take all our orders (we wanted to try everything so the order was giant) while still meeting the needs of all her other customers.

Despite having a huge order, we received it in timely manner. A smorgasbord of waffles, chicken, and sandwiches. The food was beautifully plated and tasted just as amazing. I wish I took more pictures but we were so hungry we couldn't be patient any longer.

Was just as good as the reviews said they were! The ordering is a little different than a normal sit down place but so worth it! And that waffle dough, yum!!!

This place is amazing, the waffles are amazing and the sandwich was really good. No wonder why this place is always busy. The waffles are honestly the best I’ve ever had.

I heard great reviews and wanted to try for myself. We drove 45 mins to have breakfast at sloppy waffle. We got seated and a worker explained to us that we get in line too order our food and self serve our coffee. The Cashier was friendly and helpful, she thanked us for visiting and gave us a little history about the restaurant. The restaurant is not too small or too big, it’s just right. The food was amazing, very flavorful. I am very picky with my eggs and it came out Moist. I will definitely visit this restaurant again, Definitely worth the drive. The price was okay not expensive at all. This restaurant is very family friendly and clean. The parking lot was trash free and my Silverware was clean. Thank you sloppy waffle. The Belgian waffle was too die for.

I cannot gush enough about this place. Went for the name. Stayed, dined with delight, and immediately posted review for the ‘made from scratch’, organic, secretly developed by owner recipe, ridiculously delicious GF, DF apple compote waffle, eggs & most divine coffee ever. Wonderful service, too.

If I lived closer, I’d apply for a job here, just to “borrow” the recipes!
