Quaker Diner

Nearly 100 year old dining experience. Great history laden diner going back to 1931 when it was shipped to West Hartford, Connecticut. It was run by a family for many years afterwards. It has been kept in original clean historical condition for all these years while the city continued to grow and modernize around it. Beautiful original decor with original cast iron counter stools, tile floors and real wood everywhere. Cozy decor, but as with old diners, it is small with 6 cubical tables and a dozen counter stools. Great competitively priced breakfasts, well made. The free parking is available next to the diner, but is limited. Note: Parking area shows as a tow-away zone, but is not, as the diner rents space here, as well. Very clean restrooms, still in original look of 1931. Just beautiful. Does not have a ramp for access.

It's what a diner should be. We were a party of four for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The service was really fast. The prices are very reasonable. We waited just a few minutes for table on Sunday. We will be back.

My husband and I went here for a brunch date with his mom and our son and we love it! Besides the food being excellent( they know how to season). The diner is soooo nostalgic, gave you a small glimpse of what a diner looked liked in early/mid 1930s. Had to take a few pictures, set up was authentic, staff was friendly. We plan on coming back for another date. Highly recommend this place 👌.

It's been around forever. The decor supports that. Tiny little place for great diner fare. Brunch on Sunday will be a wait. First come, first serve. The waitresses know what they are doing! Lunch specials are great too.

I would recommend this establishment to everyone delicious food good atmosphere and it just takes you back in time. The service was excellent.

I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Authentic old-time diner atmosphere, great food, friendly people and very reasonable prices. A real gem.

Quaint 17 counter, 6x4 booth diner. Hoping joint and old school atmosphere. Don't ask the waitress how she is doing as she is wicked busy. Food is made by a machine dressed as a human. Will come back.

Great atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. Our first experience at Quaker was fantastic and we will definitely be returning. We had the Western omelette and three pancakes with a side of bacon. Cakes were fluffy and had a great flavor. Omelette was very light and probably one of the best we have eaten. Bacon was a bit overdone for our liking but some might like it like that be default. Our waitresses were very friendly and extremely patient with our son who was in a food-throwing mood. I highly recommend checking this diner out.

A step back in time, the setting is great the food was great and so was the service. It was my first visit and I could see they had plenty of regulars. The cherry on top was the modestly priced menu. Parking seems limited. Would go again

Small, old- time diner with a 50s vibe...great for a quick, low priced breakfast, where locals are greeted by name and the food is cooked in front of you. The only blemish is the server behind the counter looked like she doesn't want to be there 😅 but the food was fresh and delicious.

All around pleasant experience, with good burgers!

When you think "classic old diner", you're picturing something like this place. Friendly chatter, good vibes, and good breakfast.

Gets a little busy on weekends but it’s worth the wait. Friendly staff. Good food. Loved the chocolate chip pancakes. Definitely recommend.

Great diner experience. It's obvious how they've stayed open for so long in spite of all the restaurants around it.

This is a classic diner. We sat at the counter. Our coffee was always full and the food came out quick. They do a good job turning over tables. The potatoes weren't quite as good as I had hoped. A little starchy and not as crispy as I prefer. But overall the food was tasty and the diner atmosphere was a win. They don't have many gluten free options. They don't really have a great way to keep a gluten free cooking service, but the omelets were okay since I don't have Celiac and just a sensitivity. There aren't any GF Bread options. The price is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

First time here try the omelette with toast I've tried the omelettes at several other diners in the area but this was by far the best omelette the staff are amazing and friendly
