American Flatbread - Canton, CT

Revisiting this restaurant after some time, it was a refreshingly fine experience. Expansive space, high industrial ceilings, open wood fired oven, relaxing vibe, two well made cocktails and a delicious hand tossed pizza with uncured pepperoni and Portobello mushrooms.

Patrons can choose to sit in a booth by the windows that look at the traffic outside or at a table by the oven that cooks the pizzas. We chose to sit by the fire and watch the chef throw the dough in the air until it was the right size. Chatting with him about the heat of the flames while I observed where he chose to place a pizza to bake, he described to me the different temperatures in various areas. I took a short video I'll accompany with this review.

Absolutely delicious. Again, Connecticut has the best pizza. To be fair, 95-97% due to the few places that don't season their sauce, are sparse on ingredients or have chewy dough. That said, throw a rock. No doubt. We win. American Flatbread has been in the Canton Shoppes if not from opening soon after. Very popular spot for families and events. Open 11:30AM seven days;

As soon as we walked in we were welcomed even though we came in 30 minutes before closing time. Suzie was our waitress and she was so happy to be there. She suggested what to get and it was on point. Amazingly tasty Flatbread pizza made right in plain view. The atmosphere was amazing and the decor like no other pizza places. Definitely will be visiting again!

Excellent pizza here! The maple sausage is absolutely fantastic, the crust is great, and the ingredients used are definitely fresh. The only criticism I have (but not something worth docking any points for) is that I'm not a fan of the way the pizza is cut into strips.

I love the ambience of the place. The brick oven is the heart of the open kitchen. There's nothing fancy about the food, but full of flavor. You can taste the freshness and quality of the salad. And the dough of the flatbread is thin, light, and just the right amount of chewiness. We really enjoyed the food and friendly service. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to dinner in with their family or just yourself.

Not gonna lie, best pizza I had in my whole life. It’s like the flavors of each ingredient were amplified by 100x. Fast to serve them too, hot and straight out of the hearth!

I got the special carne pizza. The ingredients were quality and fresh. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We weren't rushed and enjoyed the experience

Absolutely amazing food! Service was great - they were extremely hospitable and knowledgeable with great recommendations. If you are going on a date - ask to reserve the tables by the fire, it is extremely romantic! Really loved that you can mix and match the pizzas the way you like. Will certainly say this is one of if not the best place to eat in Stowe!

We came on a recommendation, and this is our new favorite place in Stowe. Everything from the place to the food to the service (we didn’t know you before but we love you now, Tyler!) was fantastic. Came with three kids who couldn’t get enough. Salad was likewise perfect. We came back twice!

I got the Cheese and Herb Pizza and it was like a religious experience it was so good!! The service here is amazing as well, the staff is so welcoming and nice!! I would 100% recommend coming here to anyone who is looking for a good pizza place in the area!!

I've been coming here for close to 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The smoky smell from the community wood fired oven, the smooth jams and prompt service by knowledgeable staff make the atmosphere enjoyable. The community fundraisers, support of local farms and produce make it a hip vibe. I love the punctuated equilibrium za, the olives and peppers go great with my add on of sausage. The Jimmy's free range chicken is another staple... chicken, corn, black beans, peppers and added jalapenos give it a smoky fiery zest. The baked Brownie and ice cream for desert round it all out. Always a steady selection of rotating beers and drinks...can't go wrong here at all!!

Great pizza and salad options. I loved that they source as local as they can. They also had allergy friendly options. The vegan cheese is allergy friendly and the server knew the menu well to answer questions.
The special menu was also great to change things up if you want to try something new. I highly recommend The maple lemonade, so delicious! I would post a photo of my pizza but I ate it too fast!

The pizza was very good, and there was great atmosphere and personality to the restaurant.

Have eaten at Flatbread numerous times throughout the past few years, it is always consistent. Service can be a little slow at times, and toppings typically don’t cover entire flatbread. Cozy atmosphere, excellent food
