My favorite coffee shop ever! Which is saying a lot because I love coffee and have visited hundreds! Everyone that works here is so kind we love coming here as a fav neighborhood spot on the weekends. Their coffee, lattes, etc are unmatched the quality is incredible. The food and pastry is all delightful too! My 2 year old daughter asks every weekend to go to J. Rene for her fav muffin :) we love it there!!

In or passing by West Hartford and wondering if it’s an appropriate time for a coffee? Swing by J René’s and it’ll definitely be coffee time according to at least one of the six retro clocks hanging on the exposed brick wall—if not in Medellin (EST), then in Rome, Jakarta, Burundi or Melbourne. Their single origin espresso offering was actually a blend of single origins from Guatemala, Ethiopia and someplace else, but despite that and its medium roast it was full of interesting flavors. And the place has a nice feel. Only five minutes off 84 and worth a stop.

Great local roaster I've been coming to for years! Love the updated Tiffany blue coffee cups in house, and love seeing coffee being roasted while having good conversations with good people! Can get a little warm inside, especially by the big windows, but if you know, you know, and it's not a big deal!

It took a latte time to get here, but it was worth it. This spot was highly recommended from a friend so I decided to check it out. On a busy street in a nice little community. They have tables to sit outside or inside. Inside is spotlessly clean and the decor is appealing. Bags of coffee and gift items like shirts and home decor or available to purchase. I saved the best for last, the food and drink. I had a Spanish torte with some amazing Sriracha sauce lightly drizzled on top. Just a little kick in the sauce but not too much. To help wash that down I had an iced Coquito latte. No alcohol in this one, but it was still delicious. My suggestion would be to get a liquor license and add the alcohol ha ha. Definitely check out J Rene If you are in the West Hartford area or if you are looking for a great torte and latte.

This is my second time passing through this town trying J. René and it is still one of my favorite coffee places to go to. Coming from NYC I thought I had tried the best coffee selection already but J. René blew my mind! They are very professional and detailed on the coffee they present. This time I got the Israel Degefa (yeast proceased) and Sumatra (honey processed) to try at home! I strongly recommend their cold brew as it is very well balanced, no taste note is out performed than another. Taste is subjective but for me it is the best cold brew I’ve tasted so far!

The best cafe shop in the area. The food is worth trying, the espresso drinks are always good and never burnt. The atmosphere is not the best around but it can be fun to watch the beans roasting.

Nice Place. They have great coffee. The Baristas were fast and friendly. The ambiance is positive upbeat. Just far enough from downtown that parking isn't an issue. The place is very clean. Upscale prices. The Diedrich coffee bean roaster looks cool out in the main area

Stopped in here randomly and I'm so glad we did! The coffee was great but the highlight to us was the food. I ordered the lox croissant, and my boyfriend got the monte cristo. Sooo good! The lox on a croissant was incredibly buttery. The owner was super sweet too!

I love coming here! Their barista's know what to recommend and specific flavor notes if you are asking for recommendations! Their espresso drinks are top notch! Breakfast sandwiches are the perfect size and pastries are delicious! There are a lot of tables to sit at and every time I've been there, people have been respectful about their noise levels!

Absolutely spectacular coffees for less than the price of Starbucks. The menu is simple, featuring just classic espresso drinks because their coffee is wonderful with little embellishment.

This was my first time at this establishment and let's just say it will not be my last time. It's a very clean place, staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. The staff works as a team and is very quick with explaining the menu or helping with an order. I was super impressed. The French vanilla iced latte was delicious and so was my breakfast sandwich. The waffle was freshly made, that first bite with the avocado was to die for!! I just needed a little more on the sandwich, because I absolutely LOVE avocado.

Coffee is delicious. Have not had a drink I was disappointed with. Try the siphon coffee for a true coffee experience. The turkey and avocado sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. Staff is excellent and professional. The vibe is great. You need to check this place out.

This is my place to go when I want a really good coffee. I had ice mocha today as it was perfect for warm fall day. And it was very tasty 😋

This is where to go to see the science of great coffee. The perfection of minimalism, might be a good way to describe it. There isn't a lot on the menu, there's not a vast selection of whole bean coffee but, what they offer they do very well.
As I walked in the first thing I noticed was the music, which was some funky jazz like The Budos Band, The Bamboos etc. Then I saw the roasters in the front corner, they actually roast their own beans. You can't find fresher coffee than that.
I had ordered a Honduran coffee brewed with the siphon pot. It is definitely worth it, this method brings out all the subtle notes that normal brewing just doesn't provide. Plus, it is interesting to see it being brewed as well. My girlfriend got a total of two lattes which tasted exactly the same. They seemingly have perfected consistency.

I got the Monte Cristo which was simply amazing, the ham was perfect, cheese melted and the fruite filling was superb. I also ordered a mocha latte and the coffee is simply phenomenal, the bean was roasted well, amazing froth, and it had a buttery undertone with each sip that made me just drool... I definitely recommend this place no matter what you're looking for. From a small cup of Joe to something more elegant, from the pastries to a full hardy meal, you cannot go wrong here. Even the service was given with huge smiles, 5 stars all the way. Will come again.

Great place to have a business meeting with a more personal setting. The position of the coffee shop is in the sun so it's nice and bright. Coffee is delicious.

Straight up the best coffee I've ever had. Been to a lot of coffee places. I get a dopamine rush just thinking about it.
