10/23 - Incredible Lobster Cobb Salad with the option now of steamed lobster, "The Angry Queen Bee" fried chicken sandwich with brie, bacon and honey is unbelievable & the pierogies deliver. Sunny meal outside.
#
9/23 - Really nicely done fried cod with fries and coleslaw, more cheesesteak spring rolls, matzo ball soup & chicken salad on rye. Enjoyed the deck seating.
#
8/2023 - Excellent food. The matzo ball soup was perfect this time with the right salt and celery balance. The tuna salad on untoasted rye was so good. Loved the cheesesteak spring rolls. Exceptional in this category. My partner chose the Monday hamburger special and ate every bite. Bringing their pierogies & chicken salad sandwich to a family member, she asked where did you get this beautiful food? Dish N Dat!

Returning Jan '22 the food, service and oldies music is still fun. Chef's special menu changes.
#
The fried Lobster salad is perfectly well-balanced in terms of all its components. The hard boiled egg was cooked to perfection. The yolk had no hint of grey of an overcooked egg, nor did it have a hint of dark yellow in the center of an undercooked egg. There was a perfect fan on the avocado slices. The bacon accompanying the salad was crispy and provided crunch to the greens. Red onion gave the right heat and cherry tomatoes blended it all together. House dill dressing was fresh and creamy. I'd prefer the option of lobster fried or right from the shell. Still, a fine salad.
#
Lunch included lime & apple margaritas, two quesadillas, matzo ball soup, a chicken salad sandwich & ground beef tacos. This batch of soup was too salty and had more celery than needed. The chicken salad sandwich was good sized on toasted rye with large pieces of breast with a mayo/grape/celery dressing on top. The taco menu item is overpriced when two more quesadillas @$4. each on Tuesdays would have been a better buy.

Visiting Dish N Dat two days in a row, the food, service, atmosphere and retro fifties/sixties music make dining here a pleasant experience. Our first meal on a Tuesday, we were pleased to find the house margarita was on special this day for $3.00! Salt or sugar rim. Three flavors. Good pour. Also on special, quesadillas were $4.00 with beef, pork or chicken. My partner got one of each. All were well seasoned and portioned. Wings had a good size.

The lobster sandwich on a grilled roll with arugula @$22.00. was pricier than some, but still a treat. I liked the chef grilled the inside of the bun and left the outside as is. Bread right out of the bag always disappoints. The Chef adds arugula, which to me is a bitter green, so it detracts more than compliments the sweet lobster.

For our second lunch, it was great to find a place in CT that serves matzo ball soup. It's delicious and is proudly the owner's grandma's recipe. So healthy, I asked him if anyone in his family ever got sick. "Never!" he said. The soup and sandwich combo offers tuna, chicken salad or grilled cheese. The tuna was creamy with good flavor.

The rodeo burger, like all their burgers, is a half pound and served, pink, no pink or killed. The latter, our waitress said, was a hockey puck. My partner ordered no pink, and that's how it was served, with big crispy fried onions, bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce.

The French fries that came with his burger were preferable to the ones I had with my lobster roll. More uniform in cut and size, crispier and better seasoned. Our waitress said we had a different cook this day than from our first lunch of their two chefs. She added that regulars will call and ask who's cooking today, as they both have their fans.

The owner, noting our return, treated us to his Maryland crab tots. Warm and crunchy with true crab interiors, we could see why they're popular. The red house sangria was ample with fruit and had a nice portion of wine.

The owner also owns Sorella's in Hartford, and Tavern at Keney Park in Windsor. (See my reviews/photos) Dis N Dat is kids friendly and a fun spot for a family, but adult couples on a casual outing will enjoy dining here, too.

Visited this place a couple of weeks ago LOVED the food. Went back to try the potato salad and other items that looked delicious. The Reuben, burger, cole slaw and carrot cake were fantastic. So many things on the menu, we will go back to try more. Very attentive server and welcoming owner. All day breakfast!!! Happy to discover this local gem.

Waitress was very nice and made kept checking how everything was for food and it was very good. The only issue were the pickles very salty, otherwise everything was cooked properly and will definitely come back for dessert even though we couldn’t get any tonight because we were full. I would highly recommend more people to this diner.

Ive eaten here twice and after the first time i had to bring my wife back for a visit. She loved it too.

First off, biscuits and gravy all day along with breakfast all day is a great selling point.

Their menu is expansive and this is like one of the best "diner'ish" diners ive eaten at in the country and that comes from someone who lived in NJ.

Ive had biscuits and gravy both times, it was excellent both times. My wife had the classic breakfast, potatos are cooked well, bacon was crispy, over easy eggs were over easy.

I had the french dip and it was amazing, not overly salty and no bad bits or chewy meat, absolute treat.

Everything we had here was as good as it gets, apologies for the lack of pictures, we were hungry. I cant think of something they can improve on.

Our server, Jerry, was attentive and super nice. Excellent service. This place is just a treat through and through. Everyone is always in a good mood.

Highly recommend

I added review 4 years ago, back then location was different, i think. Now it's on 44. Parking lot is huge so no worries about parking spot even during busy times.

When me and Wife got here, it was really busy time. We had to wait little bit but it was worth it.

Atmosphere is great there. Retro design and music puts you in 1960s. I love it. That itself want to make me come back here. Very rich menu, it took us some time to decide. Everything is looking good.

I order two things for myself, nuttela toasts with bananas and big piggy omelet. It was great. My Wife had whatever you see on picture lol she really love it.

Waitress was so nice, beautiful smile and helpful.

We really had good time. Definitely recommend!

Dish N Dat is where it’s at! Especially the eats, service and of course the 50’s style atmosphere! On top of all that, it’s a pro military/veteran place dishing out taste. We weren’t halfway through our meal before we couldn’t wait to come back and try something else of the home cooked menu. Thanks for YOUR service Dish N Dat.

This is a well run, well staffed down to earth restaurant that serves a little bit of everything.
Many years ago we used to frequent it at it’s previous location in The Shops at Farmington Valley. We left the state and just returned January 2023, found the restaurant in its new location.
Last week we ate in and had two perfectly cooked to order burgers, one medium and one rare. Nice!
We also started with the beef chili nachos, delicious.
This week, we had the nachos again and a corned beef sandwich.
It seems we found a regular local place to eat.
Nice owner, well versed professional employees.

Takeout review:

I've ordered takeout here numerous of times since moving here. It's always my go to when we decide to do takeout. The food and service has been spot on. Everytime I call in and pick up the food, it's been prompt and a good experience.

I've tried a few food items from here and they have been all my favorites:

Angry Queen Bee Sandwich: tempura fried crispy chicken breast, brie, bacon, Sriracha honey, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on potato bread. This is definitely my favorite sandwich from here so far. The sweet and spicy flavor is my thing.

Crispy Buffalo Mac n Cheese:
Chicken poppers, buffalo sauce, and ranch. OMG, drool worthy; the crispy chicken and gooey Mac n cheese, and spicy buffalo sauce is a great combo.

Double Porky Pig Mac n Cheese:
Bacon bits, 24-hr slow cooked BBQ pulled pork. The sweet BBQ and cheesy Mac were also a delicious combo.

The food has been great. I can't wait to dine in soon!

My milkshake came out and tasted a bit more like milk and they took it back no problem and fixed it for me, I really really appreciate the kindness and service from here today!! And happy holidays! I forgot my waitresses name but she had a blonde pony tail and was very kind!

Friend and myself were driving back from buying a car in CT and stopped here for a bite to eat. I ordered pork belly bites for a appetizer , local iPa and the crispy burger with fries. Everything was great. You could tell it was a good spot because it was filled with locals. Would stop here again

Barring trips out of town, Sun. mornings will find our small group of friends firmly ensconced within one of two booths inside, and, thanks to Dish n Dat's recent addition, a table outside during warmer months. A Bloody Mary and a vast Breakfast menu has replaced years of expensive therapy! Thank You, Dish N Dat!

Tried this restaurant for the first time in December and we have since come back atleast twice a month. Our favorites are the Smores shake and the Knish sandwich. The Smores shake is the best shake I have had with big chunk of chocolate bars at the bottom and marshmallows on the top. And the Knish sandwich, amazing, just too good. We also tried the Clam chowder recently and that was so good too, thick, with chunks of clam, potatoes and bacon. We have also tried the amazing German chocolate cake. Soooo good.

What a wonderful experience we had for lunch today. The owner Dan was so personable and has a great appreciation for his customers. From the minute we pulled in and saw veteran parking we just knew this was a nice place. When we came in and met our waitress Jess we knew this was our new spot. Jess was the best waitress with a great attitude and definitely fit in with our family. THE FOOD!! Omg we tried so many different items on the menu and nothing disappointed us. From the crab rangoons to the blt sandwich, the burger, chicken sandwich. Everything was so tasty. Lastly you HAVE to try the carrot cake! First time here and it is most definitely NOT my last!
