Tommy's Pizza Palace

I visited Tommy’s Pizza Palace with some friends and had a nice experience! The owner was very friendly and attentive, and the pizza and dishes we shared were good. I don’t often have Greek pizza, so it was a nice change, and I felt they did it well! I love the classic pizza parlor vibes and how unchanged it seemed to be. Special shout-out on the cold cut grinder, which was really tasty!

The pizza and sauce are excellent. I ate here out of curiosity and was blown away. It was cheese and pepperoni nothing too fancy. Highly recommend. Three stars for the atmosphere due to just ordering and leaving. It doesn't strike me as a dine-in kind of place.

Ordered through slice, order was just coming out of the oven when arrived, Beautiful young lady at the counter greeted me let me know my pizza will be right up, while she was constructing a meatball and chicken parm subs that looked gigantic and made with love even though she was rushing around she paid attention to the chicken parm & meatballs, cheese and spreading the sauce! This will be my next order but back to my pie, The crust with just the right amount of crunch, sauce slightly sweet but not over powered with basil oregano etc, and all toppings were all perfect! I had the Tony's special! I would give it a strong 9.2 on a scale of one through 10. Keep up the Good work Bill!!! This Establishment is worth some travel or when in the area.

So Today 11/21/23 I go back for the Meatball and chicken parm subs, actually great sub I went 16" for both food was amazing but by accident I gave the cashier 10 dollars extra. I realized as I was getting into the car, so I ho back explain it to the cashier nobody knows what to do so some guy comes up like I was causing an issue and acts like nothing to see here! So packed it up and went home. Just left me feeling some sort of way, food was great and everyone makes mistakes, this was my fault but the young lady wasn't paying attention, the guy could have asked for my number and when the register is cashed out and when they find 10 bucks over call Me no big deal, but that didn't happen real life stuff. Food is great I will be back buy I had to add this cause I feel it wasn't right.

My family has been going there for years. The food is great! Owners Billy and Sarah treat you like family.

They aren't shy with their toppings, and the bug fluffy outer crust is delicious

My husband and I love Tommy’s! My mother- in- law and her family are all from Italy and make phenomenal homemade pies, so Tommy’s had some seriously high standards to meet with us. Tommy’s exceeded those standards, and we order from there almost every Friday now. Tommy’s sauce is delicious- not too sweet- and so flavorful. I also love that they are very generous with the cheese (my favorite part). Our son, without fail, gets the wings, but begs me to save him the crust, which he says is the best crust around (again- he has high standards considering his Nonna makes her pizza, dough and sauce from scratch). You just can’t beat a family owned business who makes great food and cares deeply about their community. Keep up the great work, Tommy’s!!

Great greek style pizza! I ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza and it was amazing. There was plenty of sauce and cheese and the sausage is wonderful. The crust had lots of flavor too! I also got some wings and loved them. They gave me plenty of blue cheese which could be homemade (not sure)either way, it's SO GOOD.

**edited to add: After reading countless reviews on the antipasto and house made dressing I had to try it. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The dressing is simply delectable and the salad was huge!

I absolutely love this place! I used to live in Portland and have since moved out of town. I travel back to Portland just for the delicious chicken! The grilled chicken salad is our favorite, and the house dressing is SO yummy. The portion size of the large salad is perfect for sharing and the price is quite reasonable. The staff is friendly and has never messed up our order! We also love that the chef is so grateful every time we mention how much we love the chicken. It’s juicy, and seasoned just right. You will not be disappointed, delicious food and great staff.

Not bad the chicken is good. The pizza is a little hot. My friend really liked his gluten-free pizza because it tasted like pizza.

Over 10 years ago I worked at Tommy’s Pizza as a young lady in college. Not only do I tell people that it was one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had, (and I now my own business) but one of the best. The owners Sarah and Billy are the hardest working people that I personally know. They taught me so many extremely wonderful things about customer service, team work, dedication and how to make great food that I now apply to my ever day life. My husband and I live about 40 minutes away and I still continue to drive to Portland to pick up take out from here because the pizza is simply THE BEST. The only place I know that has 16inch grinders!!!! I was JUST telling someone the other day about the pizza there. Not only do they have great food, but I continue to show my support because I know how much this business means to their family. This family works 7 days a week with staff in high school (which means when they leave for college, Billy and Sarah are back to training the next). I give them such credit for the dedication they put into every aspect of their business. If more than 5 stars was an option, it would apply here!

Having lived in Portland CT my entire life Tommy’s Pizza is ALWAYS my go to spot for great pizza, grinders, burgers and chicken wings!!! If your looking for a delicious meal in Portland or any other town Tommy’s Pizza is the place to go!!! They listen to your order (I like my pizza cooked a certain way and always cut in squares) Tommy’s ALWAYS listens to my out of the ordinary orders and always gets the order right and it’s DELICIOUS every time!!! I would recommend Tommy’s to anyone!! Not to mention that even in a pandemic their prices are some of the best around!!! Tommy’s is a staple of Portland and a great family owned restaurant that treats ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AS FAMILY ALSO!!!

I like this pizza , good thickness, crispy crust, I love the Greek cut they do. Pizza has weight, not like todays ultra thin pies that seem to be the trend

Tommy’s has to be one of our favorite places! The meatball grinders are the absolute best, the sliced meatballs are a huge hit in our house! My moms favorite is the clams casino pizza, she always says be sure to tell Sarah it was delicious, this is coming from a lady who has made clams casino most of her life! My favorite is the bonless Buffalo chicken salad with their amazing Vasili Greek dressing, my go to for sure! Well worth a visit or two or three! Family run, and our family favorite!

Just the best! Food with all the flavors from Greece. Huge menu and it's ALL delicious. Owners Sarah and Billy are the hardest working couple i know (along with their family and extended family!). They have to work so hard to bring us amazing food despite being short staffed for reasons out of their control.
Be patient! The food is worth it!! And thank them on the way out for all they do for our community!!

Super fresh, high quality, flavorful ingredients on their pizza. Excellent thick crust pizza with just the right amount of crunch. Plenty of full-fat, real mozzarella. You can taste the fennel in the chunks of real italian sausage and the oregano in the pizza sauce. And we worked with a pizza owner in the past, so we know the differences that can exist in the quality of ingredients used. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. It's our only go-to for pizza now! Just get some!

Great food. Been eating here since 2005 thanks to my wife who introduced me. The wings are delicious. Love the grinders and the pizza. (Nobody does cheese like that. Yummm) I've never been disappointed in any of my selections here. Try the house dressing.

The sauce and the crust on the pizza is perfect!

Supporting small business has always been near and dear to our hearts but it has never been more important than during this pandemic. So many businesses have had to close their doors and behind those doors are not faceless millionaires but rather everyday people like you and me.

More than just the delicious food, this business is an integral part of the community and in a way, our lives. They were there when we moved to this town 20 years ago fresh faced and naive. Our appliances died within a week of owning the house and since we spent most of our money on the mortgage down payment it took a few weeks before we could get new ones. We ate at Tommy’s almost nightly because honestly, who can be expected to eat that many PB&J sandwiches?

They were there for my late night pregnancy cravings. Only their ham grinders would do! As time passed they supported our child with her Girl Scout Silver award by donating pizzas for the classroom who donated the most food to the food bank. Furthermore they have generously provided boxes and supplies to the hospital for pediatric patients to do art projects. When our girl left for college Tommy’s was the final “Portland meal” she wanted and when she came home for a brief visit it was a pineapple pizza from Tommy’s she was greeted with at the airport. (I refuse to even entertain any “pineapple does not belong on pizza” nonsense!)

So many times we overlook the importance of the small ways in which we fill the gaps in other’s lives. Tommy’s has become a staple in our lives and is a pillar of this community.

Our personal favorites from the menu include the grinders, wings, salads, and pizza (square cut for everyday, pie cut if I am trying to not eat like an out of control toddler left alone at a candy store.)

Highly recommend you try them.
