The Shoe - Lakeview Dining & Spirits

We read the reviews beforehand and despite some negative reviews decided to come.... Especially because of the owner's responses which we loved! We were expecting a long wait..... Nope. We were expecting food that was just OK... And quite the opposite...... It was freaking amazing... All of it! I had the Buffalo sirloin and my husband had the prime rib.... Both were cooked to perfection.... And the garlic mashed potatoes.... 😋🙌😋! We live in Illinois so likely won't be back to this area.... But if we are.... We will definitely come again! The service was great (Thanks Alley!), food was amazing and the view..... Priceless!

PS.... They are super dog friendly... Even have a designated area to sit with your furry friends and provide bowls of water for them. I absolutely love that!

We dined here in Aug 2022 and unfortunately due to smoke the view was limited, but still a very nice spot! Our service was kind and attentive and our food was great. We enjoyed the crab cakes and I had the reuben and a bloody mary. All super tasty!

They were understaffed and could have used one additional server that evening, and their kitchen really does stop cooking at 8pm so order has to be in by 7:59pm. And outside, there are bugs flying around. Bugs like water and bugs like food, so sitting outside lakeside means you’ll have to shoo away some flying insects once in a while.

But even with those snafus, the wait wasn’t unreasonable, the food came out hot and delicious, the view is incredible, and the atmosphere is both romantic and fun. There were people on dates, and there were tables full of fun-loving friends.

Our family had the steak, which came out the way we ordered it, and was a very thick steak. The chicken fingers which were served hot and the chicken was juicy; not dry at all, and not greasy. Macaroni and Cheese main dish was flavorful and not greasy. Side dishes of asparagus and fries were served at a great temp and texture.

The food was not cheap, but at the same time not overly priced for summer on the lake in a tourist town. Kids meals under $10, most main meals under $20, and the steak meals put you closer to $40.

Local beers on draft. Good wine list.

Would love to come back again someday!

I am so disappointed. This is usually a great place to go and we go there often. Today we went there for a happy time and were met with not such a happy hostess. We were told we could not sit outside as there were 3 of us and although there were many tables she did not want to seat us. Usually we sit at a small table and make it work as we love the view.

We sat at the smaller table and unbeknownst to us she came and set the 4 top. Then she came and said we should have let her know as she had done all this work setting down the menus and silverware.

I am old enough not to be scolded by a youngster and we decided to make her job easier and leave.

I was so disappointed as I do look forward to going to this establishment and spending money there.

It used to be as anyone walked in they wanted to make you feel welcomed and happy you made the choice to come to this restaurant.

I even have a nice VIP card from this restaurant. We tip well and used to have a great time.

Take what you want from this just very very sad for the changes.

Fantastic! Delicious food. Friendly. Even turned a TV to PBS kids for the little without us asking or even noticing til kiddo did. Well done!

We had an incredible experience at The Shoe. Leslie helped secure us a table two nights in a row, and everyone practiced great social distancing and safety precautions amidst COVID-19. We were greeted with friendliness and kindness, and our service from the bartenders and our table server were all excellent. We LOVED the crab cakes and our steaks. The Caesar salad was perfectly dressed and flavorful. And our views the second night on the patio were fantastic. We were visiting the area from out of town and felt welcomed right away. So much so that we came back a second night. Thanks to Leslie, our experience was wonderful and we will certainly be back when we are in Montana next!

One of the only higher end restaurants in town. Food is good though kitchen has been taking a while to get food out, so be prepared to spend some time. Service is exceptional. Pizza is really good. Steaks have been cooked properly, though lack any salt and pepper. Burgers are a good choice, but also lack any salt and pepper. Costs are on the higher side, but not going to break the bank. Would recommend.

First of all, the decor is what you are needing pay attention to. The details in the well, everything! You will want this in your home for sure. LOL. The interior designer and artwork is amazing, every little detail. The food and drinks are great. The owner, Scott is always there which is the best kind of managing style possible. The staff are top notch. Pull your boat up to the dock with friends or family and chill out on the deck if you like. This place is beautiful, next to the largest fresh water lake this side of the Mississippi. I know where all the fishing spots are so give that a try if ya want after dessert. This lake is loaded. :-)

7/5/2023 We debated on whether or not to eat here due to a few iffy reviews recently. Hubby and kids wanted a nice steak so we called and made a reservation for 7pm. They had a large group come in between our phone call around 4pm and arriving just before 7pm and advised us that food would probably take 1-1.5 hrs to get due to the group. We decided to be seated and wait. We ordered some chips and salsa while waiting for dinner. It took just under an hour to be served dinner but it was well worth the wait! Everyone enjoyed their steaks and I enjoyed my gluten free pizza 🤤 side note: food orders have to be placed prior to 8pm so just make sure you arrive early enough to get your order in. Everyone was nice and friendly.

If we ever travel through Polson, MT again, we will definitely be stopping to eat here!

Food and service was good. Live music on Saturday night was an unexpected treat. Rotating menu is on point. Order extra tarter it's amazing!!

Patio seating and view of flathead lake is to die for, I can't wait to come back for a meal al fresco!

Caught a ride from the campground by mistake with the manager on the golf cart. Super friendly! We got in late and decided to get a bite before turning in for the night. They had live music on a Friday and plenty of food and drink options. We split the 50/50 burger and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the mushroom cream sauce with Swiss cheese. Awesome patio view, definitely would go back if we in town again.

Excellent experience. The views were incredible. The staff was wonderful. Especially or waitress from Georgia. The filet was done perfectly! I would definitely go back.

Visited this establishment for a date night. I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese.( Maybe add a touch more garlic. However; I digress.) It was Plated very well
The texture was complimentary to the pallet. My date had the scalloped spaghetti. It was amazing! Both dishes were delicious. Our little guy who was in attendance. Gobbled his burger and fries down without hesitation. Very fulfilling to say the least and definitely worth the price. Bravo to the kitchen staff (Anthony Velasco. The dinner was superb. Well done.)a well as our waitress. We Will be back again for more dishes to explore and review.

First time to this place and wasn't disappointed. Great Cowboy burger. Great service provided by Madison. Friendly, quick and competent.

We’ve been to the Shoe twice in the past two weeks and food has been delicious. The food service is slow but we enjoyed the spectacular view and our server…GA girl is awesome! The boat dock area is getting a little low, so be carful if you plan to park there.

This place may not look like much from the outside and you could easily pass it up but you would be doing your taste buds a huge disservice. Great food, friendly awesome people working here. Awesome view sitting outside for dinner on Fathers Day, what more could a Dad ask for. Do yourself a favor and stop in here while in the Polson area

Incredible view!! We had a great waitress. My steak was cooked well. The restaurant is under new management and it shows because based on prior reviews.

The Shoe recently opened in Polson Montana and it’s apparent they are still working out the kinks but our overall dinning experience was great. We will be back soon

Looking for a great view, food and service? This is it! Hopefully you'll get Hope as your waitress, but we're sure the other staff is just as good. Prices are reasonable as well, and tables are spread out. This place won't disappoint!
