Tall Man’s Homemade Ice Cream

This place has been on our list forever, so it was a great excuse to come out for National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day this past weekend. Of course it was super busy, but worth the wait. We always try to visit and support our local, homemade ice cream businesses. They had delicious ice cream (MCC was perfect!!), fun and unique grab and go treats, and what looked like a really nice sitting area out back. We will definitely have to return in the warmer weather to visit so we could sit outside. My only teeny disappointment was the hot fudge was SO thick. I wasn't sure if that was based on them being busy and it wasn't made right? But Ordering a sundae, it was just a large dish of ice cream with a small amount on top. It was so thick it didn't drip at all, so most bites had no hot fudge. Paying extra for a sundae, I usually like to have more equal amounts of toppings to enjoy. Hard to say, but we'll have to ask next time! Definitely would recommend if you like homemade ice cream!

I will definitely be back and tell everyone where to get ice cream this summer!

Absolutely magical the ice cream tastes like luxury ice cream. The people working their were also very nice and helped us get our favorite flavors! O would recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat luxurious homemade ice cream for a good price.

I go out of my way to review homemade ice cream flavors where I travel and this place absolutely deserves five stars I got key lime and blueberry. The key lime is smooth just a little bit tired and has little pieces of pie or graham cracker crust mixed in, and the blueberry is just smooth without a crust or a crumble or anything else.

Portions are generous and I would definitely go back here again Wich says a lot because I'm almost always tempted to go somewhere new instead

Great ice cream, they even have sugar free ice cream too. There is a variety flavors to choose from and there is seating inside. There is plenty of parking, there are tables and chairs in the back of the parking lot to sit down and enjoy your ice cream.

Really loved this spot! Has indoor and outdoor seating and the prices are on point with what I would expect. friendly staff. Portions are as expected though the “kiddie” portions are much larger than I anticipated. Will definitely be back!

A fantastic place to bring the family for a variety of delicious ice cream whether a cone, sundae or milkshake. Sit inside or enjoy the lovely outside clean picnic table area with umbrellas. The staff are fast, efficient and very friendly.
If in the area definitely stop in!

We were on a day trip and wound down our day by backtracking a little for Tall Man's Ice cream. I am on the hunt for all the best homemade and handmade ice cream in CT. So far, Tall Man's is in my top 5.

FOOD
I purchased the hot fudge sundae with whipped cream, candied walnuts and black cherry vanilla ice cream. The cherries in the ice cream were huge and not super sweet....flavorful. I had a piece of a cherry in every bite. (Sundae had no fixed price: $6.90)

Steve had the salted caramel. (Small cone $4.65) Good stuff.

STAFF
VERY kind...they checked the ingredients of the candied nuts for a gluten allergy notice for me! I cannot stress enough how this is a kindness for Celiac sufferers (especially for kids!) I feel like a business owner/staff member who takes a moment to make the customer feel a little be safer in their food choices really must be proud of their work.

ATMOSPHERE
Because this was a chilly and breezy drab March day, it was not crowded, of course. However, there was a couple there when we arrived, one couple just left and another pulled in after us. There is a well landscaped seating area away from the building. Super clean lot and grounds. I bet this gets wicked busy in the summer. It is also on a main road....not hard to find. Generous parking.

Very enjoyable experience, delicious ice cream that hit the spot! TOTALLY RECOMMENDED for the entire family.

Amazing ice cream and attentive, quick, f we friendly service. While there's often a line of some sort, it is well worth the not-as-long-as you think it might be "wait!" It's definitely a flavor-ite ice cream destination for my family <3

Delicious ice cream. Not just sugar and ice, like in some creameries, their ice cream flavors are really very tasty. Generous portions too.
And if you're craving soft serve, they have those too!

We met one of the owners who was working the counter. She was very nice & willing to explain the the name of their business, explaining that her husband is a tall man. Really a nice, clean, neat property. Generous serving of very good ice cream. Will definitely return.

Seems like they have a lot of selections. Tried their peanut butter swirl with chocolate chunks. Pretty awesome. They were a little skimpy with the scoop, but it was still very good. I'll be back to check out more.

We love going here especially when the weather's nice, we talked to this nice couple about their Corvette,. I was able to have some low sugar ice cream and they have lots of different dairy or non dairy options for those of us who have dietary restrictions

Had the brownie sundae yesterday. So delicious. Highly recommend. I might even go back today for another.

The staff is very friendly. Even though the line is always long it moves quickly. The peach ice cream is the best and worth the short wait. There is a nice area out back with tables and benches to sit down and enjoy your treats.
