I went here for the first time this past weekend. I am not a runner. I just want to get walking again. I was on a mission to find sneakers that would fit and support me correctly. Getting older stinks and purchasing sneakers now is more for functionality, comfort and to support my hurting back rather than aesthetics. I was extremely impressed with everything they do. Really top notch. They use a process that makes sense and are knowledgeable about their products. They watch, measure and "diagnose" your walk, gait and feet while informing you of what they see and why they would recommend certain ones versus others. I was brought out three pairs to try and none disappointed. Ironically, I had done some "online" tests on one specific shoe companies website and the sneakers I ended up purchasing are the ones that even they recommended. It made me feel good about the purchase. They even made notes about the other shoes I tried on so we would know which ones I "test walked" in. Everyone was friendly and down to earth. A very comfortbael and non pushy atmosphere. I will be returning and bringing my daughters there for sneakers next. Although they will probably want some clothes to go with them. Will definetly be recommending to others. Thank you! I wish I could remember names, the young man that helped me and the two ladies that were there all were outgoing and helpful.

This place is incredible. If you love running or even walking in comfort with shoes that perfectly fit your feet and needs, you better go here. The service is personal and ‘old school’. Gretchen fitted me so well I had to bring my son back the next week. His feet are short 8.5 and wide 4e. No one has ever put a shoe on him that fit right except Gretchen. They didn’t just have one shoe in his crazy custom size , they had a bunch. I’ve never seen my son smile when trying on shoes but here, his grin wrapped around his face. Thank you.

Went to Marathon Sports (formerly Soundrunner) last night to get fitted for a proper pair of sneakers. What an experience. They did a scan of my feet, watched the way I walked, and had me try on a bunch of sneakers that were right for my feet. I didn’t even try on the sneakers I originally wanted because come to find out they weren’t right for my foot type. I love the fit of my new sneaks and am excited for my first workout in them. Will definitely be back! Thank you Dean.

Had an issue with a pair of shoes I bought, but Megan was phenomenal and helped me sort it out and get a new pair.

I love how they listened to my foot needs. I came in with foot pain. They had me try on 6 different pairs of sneakers until I found a pair I liked. Foot pain is so much better. Thank you Gretchen!

I just purchased a great pair of sneakers with the friendly and knowledgeable salesperson Megan. She spent 40 minutes taking her time to make sure I got the perfect size and fit.She was a delight to work with. I will be back to buy a second pair.

I just recently bought a pair of running shoes from Soundrunner and have not had a better experience at any other store. Catherine was very helpful with her knowledge of running and the anatomy of the lower body to find the best shoe for me. I will definitely be coming back here every time I need new running shoes and will be recommending to others. If you come to Sound runner ask for Catherine! She’ll be able to answer all of your questions with a smile.

10/10 would go again and I encourage everyone else to as-well. The staff are super friendly and good at assisting you. They make sure you find best shoes to accommodate you. They treated everyone with the upmost respect. It was truly a wonderful experience.

This place is wonderful. The service is excellent - and the people that work there go out of their way to make you a happy customer.

As soon as Gretchen saw the old shoes on my feet, she brought out 3 pair of new shoes and then correctly predicted which of the 3 pairs would fit me best. She was absolutely correct.

I was tempted to purchase a 2nd pair - but then Gretchen reminded me of what I already had at home, and she did not want me to spend extra money foolishly. Rather than make a sale, she invited me to come back in a month or two and get another pair, but only if I needed to.

If I could give a grade, I would give Gretchen an A+ and the store and A+.
The staff knows each shoe so well, its totally impressive.

They are fantastic! Very accommodating! I was having trouble with a shoe ripping within two weeks of buying and manager Dean was patient and worked with me to replace the shoe and find a different one that worked for me to replace the ripped ones.

I recently went to their Branford location wanting to purchase a new pair of shoes for work and running. Gretchen was amazing, and so was Brent. The customer service was amazing and they were so patient and made me feel comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for shoes for running.

This store was recommended by my orthopedic doctor. Best doctor advice I ever got. You try on a pair of shoes and they have you walk back and forth in the to determine how your stride is. From there they recommend what shoes they think is a better fit. Truly impressed. Shoes are pricey but worth every minute on our feet.

I purchased Brooks sneakers on 5/25. The soles wore excessively in 8 weeks time. I went into the store today and without hesitation they offered to “trade out” for a new pair. I never expected a totally new pair after 2 months. I’m I lifer at this store now! Great service!

Gretchen was an absolute sweetheart and gave me such a vast amount of knowledge on sneakers! The best!

I recently purchased a pair of shoes at the Glastonbury, CT Sound Runner and they ended up having to order them online for me. Upon receiving the shoes, I decided that they were not what I wanted. However, they were brand new and I hadn't even taken them out of the box. I had not received any order number, confirmation email, basically nothing for a proof of purchase. So I called Glastonbury SR and asked for some form of an order number/invoice so that I could go about returning them off the brand website. The owner was very blunt and rude and basically only cared about the money, not that I was unsatisfied with my shoes. He told me I could only get a store credit even thought the shoes were BRAND NEW IN THE BOX, not even worn or tried on. Immediately, I emailed a generic SR email and within minutes I received a phone call from Brent at the Branford, CT store. Brent was SO helpful and assisted me in my return, no questions asked. He followed up through email and phone call multiple times and was very quick to personally refund my account. I 1000% recommend going and seeing Brent for any of your shoe needs, we need more people like him in the retail world. Thus, I will not being going back to the Glastonbury, CT SR because the manager there was non-helpful and clearly misinforming his customers so that he could make a profit. Highly recommend Sound Runner to anyone looking for footwear that fits properly. Huge shout out to Sammy. I drove down there from Colchester to find a pair of sneakers. I've had numerous surgeries and have many issues with my feet. Sammy took his time, both measuring my feet on their state of the art equipment and finding a sneaker that would accommodate my feet. This was not an easy task and Sammy worked with me until he found a shoe that was perfect for me. There were many boxes on the floor by the time we were done. Thank you Sammy, I left there with a spring in my step that hasn't been there in a VERY long time.

A podiatrist suggested this place for running shoes. They really know what they are doing and know how to fit your feet. Plus they have a 30-day exchange policy even if you have worn the shoes. Highly highly highly recommended

Great staff! They know their stuff! Plus, they have a very fancy foot scanner.
