I recently brought my kitty in with heart failure. They helped him make a recovery and his team has been so kind, understanding, communicative, and just all around amazing! They encouraged us to call multiple times a day to ask how he was doing and made visiting him so easy. They're the reason my furry son came home, and I couldn't be more grateful to everyone who's contributed to his care ♥

We had an emergency with our kitty Nell. Dr. Sterman and her team were so kind, but did not sugar coat the situation. They showed Nell love, and compassion, bringing her to my husband to enjoy her one last 'kitty gogurts' as we said goodbye to our sweet baby. We never hope to ever be in a situation like this again, but we would trust the team at Central to take care of any of our babies. To the staff at Central, thank you for doing what you could to make Nell's last few moments with us special. We will never forget the comfort and compassion you gave us while we made potentially the hardest decision of our lives. <3

My cat has been going to see Dr. Treseder for echocardiogram check ups for awhile now. I brought in my other cat because her breed is prone to cardiac issues. The cardiology team is always friendly and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable and handle my nervous boy with care. Thank you Dr. Treseder, Nicole, and Jennifer!

Thank you so much for treating our Lola with kindness and respect. This was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. Special thanks to Dr Hafemann and Dr Morgulis. You helped our Lola cross the rainbow bridge peacefully without suffering. I felt her last heartbeat and it didn’t accelerate in the end. If you know your pet is suffering, for $85 they will take good care of him/her. We got to bring her home and lay her to rest. Thank you!

My dog Philly has such a good time at Doggy Daycare that she threw out her arthritic hip.
She was in so much pain overnight and limping pretty badly. Seeing that it was Memorial Day weekend and my vet was closed, I was at a loss of what to do. After doing a bit of research and looking through reviews, I found The Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine and I'm so glad I did. All the staff were amazing. Dr. Morgulis was so informative, kind and understanding to the situation. The front desk staff were patient, kind and quick to get her in and keep me informed and the nurse made sure I understood everything before leaving. Honestly nothing bad to say about my experience and the costs were reasonable. I read some not so nice things about other ER Vets, but can say I didn't experience any of that here and would definitely return and recommend to anyone needing emergency vet services.

Central has cared for my dogs for the past year for emergencies and cancer treatment. The entire team is wonderful. The vets are clearly incredibly skilled, and the nurses and reception staff always take as much time as necessary to explain every detail to us. I brought my one pup in after a mauling and everyone was so kind to me in my distraught state, and looked after my dog incredibly well through his multiple surgeries (even though he’s a very difficult chihuahua!). This morning we also had to say goodbye to our other sweet dog who had been fighting cancer after an amputation. Everyone was so compassionate and sensitive. I’ve always felt confident that everyone at Central would be gentle and skilled in looking after our boys when they were at their most vulnerable. Thank you, Central Vet!

Central saved my little boy's life. I couldn't be more grateful to the whole team. He had to stay overnight and I asked to give him a hug for me and they did. Amazing service. Thank you for saving my Milo!!!!!!!

Incredible staff. Attentive, kind, and excellent customer service. I’ve never felt so at ease in an emergency vet situation. The front desk staff provided exceptional customer service (even on a busy, crowded Sunday) and the vets clearly love each and every animal admitted. While ER vet care can be costly, I never once felt taken advantage of. Vets and vet techs were transparent with providing cost analysis ahead of time, and didn’t “upcharge” for unnecessary tests or procedures. If I could make these doctors my primary, I would. I can’t thank Central enough for all they did for my cat, I would recommend them to any and every pet owner within driving distance! Thank you!

I called in at 10:00 tonight regarding my Shiba’s short, heavy breathing and his overall behavior being off. Michele answered my call immediately, told me they will be waiting for my arrival. The front desk staff were so pleasant and personable. My dog was seen nearly the minute I walked through the doors. Amanda, the doctor was incredible and actually listened to my concerns and gave me real answers. Overall, I spent about 2 hours there given what needed to be done to my dog which is super reasonable for an emergency vet. My baby came back to me totally back to normal and happy. I cannot say enough good things about this hospital and everyone that was working tonight. Thank you! ❤

Dr. Harley and the staff in internal medicine are wonderful. When another emergency place that we had our cat Missy in for emergency treatment, and then had no availability in thier internal medicine department to help her further, they recommended Central Vet. We are grateful they did. They were in less than a week able to do the diagnostic endoscopy she needed and come up with a treatment plan to get her back to normal. They are always available by phone or email. We are just so grateful that we were recommended here as they have been awesome. We know vet care is expensive just as it is for humans, but estimate came in on the low end and they work with Chewy and other outside phamacies to give lower cost options to the drugs she needs. Thanks again to the Internal medicine team, waiting was not an option for Missy and they quickly made it happen.

I was very pleased with the services I received from Central, especially the fact that I was distraught of my dog's severe condition. They were personable and took care of my girl promptly, and they returned with the medical options for her.

Due to the toxicity in her system she had to remain in the hospital at first for 48 hours observation. Prayerfully, my girl made a great recovery and was able to come home the next day. I was so happy! Thank you, Central staff for your help and your professionalism. My girl is doing great!

I want to lift the people up here that work here and let them know how wonderful they are! I brought in a feral cat that was laying face down by a tree. I was willing to take the expense for the cat, but they not only took care of the cat love the cat had to euthanize a one year-old cat, but they never asked me for a penny, and even if I paid a penny, they were wonderful! For all you do it matters at least to the animals May God bless your clinic in every way in Jesus name

Thank you staff of Central Hospital for saving our Pete’s life♥ we are traveling from the west coast for our daughter’s wedding and who would have suspected a dog could have an anaphylaxis reaction to a wasp sting? He was listless, fluid in his belly and his liver was so irritated from the wasp poison. It was devastating, to watch and we really thought he was a goner. This team did the most incredible exam, tests, treatments and care to quickly diagnose what happened to Pete. We’ve had many dogs, horses, and cows and never needed any canine vet care so this was not only a sad shock, but a financial one too. Please don’t be shocked as we were with the cost. If you have a pet and care for them, get pet insurance - we will now. We went through the bill carefully and fully understood the costs as central Hospital staff clearly explained each item in question. I came here for a dental cleaning/surgery procedure for my dog and everything went great! My normal Vet is Wellness Center of New Haven and my vet was the doctor who did the procedure, so I knew I was already in good hands. The staff was professional and kept me updated throughout the day, and did all the necessary followups and steps to make sure I knew what to expect.

Compassionate care was given to our kitty who crossed rainbow bridge. The staff were all very comforting and kind to our family and we’re forever grateful. Our kitty went out with love and dignity.

Sadly, my bearded dragon passed away. I called Central Hospital. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. When I arrived, she remembered her name, Gooby. She was very helpful and kind. I also received a voice-mail from another staff member letting me know her ashes were ready to be picked up - she was so professional and so kind. The facility is very clean, and I love that their open 24/7. A lot of places are closed on the weekend. I was grateful to be able to drop her off on a Saturday. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital.

I rushed my 4 year old frenchie here upon the news from her vet that she had critically low RBC levels. She was taken back right away and we met with Dr. Canny who alerted us how serious her case is. Gg stayed there 4 nights and on the second, had to receive a blood transfusion. We have our baby home now, but are watching her very closely until her next blood work appointment. I could not thank the internal medicine team here more, we were truly impressed by them and highly recommend them. Thank you Dr. Canny, Dr. Forgash, Dr. Miller, Dr. Fowler and the rest of the team that played a role in GGs care, we are truly grateful to have found you.

My experience with Central vet was unfortunately during one of the hardest moments of my life . My husband and I had to euthanize our cat mustard due to ongoing medical / quality of life issues I still feel extremely guilty over his death but am glad he went peacefully and isn’t suffering anymore .

I have owned animals all of my adult life & they all go to the vet yearly , we move a lot so I have vet shopped and this has by far been the best experience I’ve received in a horrible time .
The front receptionist has a pleasant tone when answering the phone , we were not left to wait .
When we arrived we were promptly brought to a room .
I wish I could remember names it was all a blur .
I believe she was a tech she wore purple but she expressed a level of compassion and understanding I didn’t feel judged. I knew what was wrong but was grasping at straws and in pretty deep denial .
When we spoke to our vet she was very kind and understanding and explained things in a way that was factual as well as kind .
When we had to choose euthanasia I was angry not at anyone in particular just the situation. I snapped in front of a staff member at my husband.

When it came time for mustard to be euthanized I was allowed time with him prior . I took about 10 minutes. He was curious and purring he wasn’t frightened or anxious which shows your staff took care of him and were gentle .
The vet allowed me to stand up and rock him on his back ( something we did at home ) and he was still purring . He looked at her and she gave the sedation and he went right to sleep he didn’t fight it and then the final injection his heart stopped . It wasn’t anything dramatic he didn’t jump he didn’t gasp he just went to sleep . It was the most beautiful end to one of the most painful moments of my life . Thank you for allowing our last moments together to be that way .
I’ve attended few euthanasia of family pets growing up and none were that peaceful .

We had to urgently put are senior cat down after hours. I googled the closest 24 hospital and we went right to Central Hospital. From the front desk, to the vet tech and doctor everyone was compassionate, sincere, helpful and guided us through the process. Our senior cat passed away peacefully in our arms.

Had a very sick dog who stopped walking and was lethargic, so I called the hospital and they took my information and I raced up there. They took Jada's vitals and said she appeared stable, but I had to wait for a doctor to see her. So remember people, this is an Emergency Hospital so it's treated the same way an ER is for people - they take the most critical first. So after 2 hours of waiting I asked to take Jada home and she came out walking! And there was NO CHARGE!! She is home and going to the family Vet this morning. Thank you Central Hospital!
