Vanilla Bean Bakery & Cafe

Every single item I have ever tasted from here is amazing! And I’m not overselling it. My favorite destination restaurant when I come to Helena. I’m not a big fan of frozen food, or pre-baked type offers, this place is full-on scratch from the kitchen. And if that means anything to you, you’ll love this place.

Stopped in today 10 minutes prior to them closing and grabbed this raspberry cheesecake. The service and food were both great. Located in a neat building with a lot of coffee, tea, and dessert options.

My wife and I are new in town for a short time and love checking out local spots. This place was so cute. Had a very relaxing vibe to it. The staff was nice and actually personable. We got drinks and both were delicious. We will for sure be stopping back :)

I LOVE Vanilla Bean! The employees are always very sweet and helpful! I've never had a bad experience here and everything is DELICIOUS!

Vanilla Bean did a FANTASTIC job of renovating the space formerly home to Benchmark Industries. I love the sense of space. The dark charcoal painted ceiling accentuates the original trusses that must span 50 feet! The huge fireplace and tall glass windowed garage style door add to the ambiance. We we arrived the big door was open.. but as it was heating up they must have closed to to keep the heat out. We tried the quiche (three types to select from) I got the asparagus swiss and Val got the dried tomato with spinach. They heated it up and then brought it to our table. We shared. I think the tomato spinach had more flavor. Both were delicious. I also like the fact they make espresso coffee drinks! The perfect way to enjoy fine pastry. We shared a gluten free apple oatmeal muffin. Nice and moist and also delicious. We will be going back!

As soon as I walked in the door I felt warm. When I ordered a dirty Chai, oh my God! And I'm pretty sure they make there cookies out of love. Also, the bar is pretty coup.

Great place to stop for good latte and a delicious bite to eat. Lots of seating plus a coffee-bar. Slightly "industrial" atmosphere. The ceilings are high so it is echoey .

Great location with breakfast, coffee and pastry options. They do have cold brew. Burritos and skillets. Avocado toasts and maple seating. Love the concept. On top of all of this it appears that they also do cakes and pies. Really enjoyed our time here

Wow! Vanilla Bean went above and beyond for me.

I ordered a cake on Tuesday and although they require 72 hours for orders they went above and beyond to get my cake done by Thursday - just in time for my Husband’s birthday.

I’m in the process of changing jobs, have has a sick kid all week, and just suffered a second miscarriage. Thanks to vanilla bean I was still able to give my husband a special birthday among our chaos.

On top of their excellent service, the cake was DELICIOUS!

I ordered 2 cakes from the top bakeries in town and this one was my personal favorite! It was less sweet, more flavorful, and more moisture! Yummy thanks for the amazing cake!

Great hot chocolate and coffee. We also got a cinnamon roll which was amazing. They are moving to a different location soon. Highchair available and a changing table in the bathroom, although it had toilet paper sitting on it when we visited.

Great desserts, lattes, and atmosphere. I need to try a panini still, but we like their desserts.

Stopped in for lunch while driving from Bozeman to Missoula via Helena. Went a little out of the way after stumbling on it, since we used to frequent the Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, Connecticut as kids. Thought it would be fun to compare the two. We had a great experience. The street view hides a very spacious and open seating area inside with a large garage door open to the outside. As for food, the focus seems to be on the bakery (cakes, pastries, etc), but we were all very happy with our lunch. My son and I got the southwest chicken panini, which were delicious (just a hint of spice, but very mild). My wife got a veggie sandwich and we were really happy that they were willing and able to customize a sandwich for our daughter! Thanks for a great experience - would definitely recommend the Vanilla Bean!

Shop local! The breakfast sandwich here is so yummy! And it is no more expensive than so.e of the chain stores out there, but it is made on an English muffin that they baked from scratch right there! So do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to breakfast here!

I haven't been here before but I ordered a cake online with a note asking for two gluten free cupcakes. Everything was ready on time and I can't wait to share with my friends for my special day. Thank you!
