The Guilford Bistro & Grille Cafe

I came here the other day, and the waitress was noticeably delightful. She was so friendly and so welcoming, and just gave off this comfortable demeanor.

I ordered my food, learned that there are no burgers at this place, and settled down to sit. She brought me this beautiful glass of water, but it was kind of heavy, and I couldn’t lift it to drink it because I’ve injured my elbows.

I asked her for a straw. She asked if I wouldn’t mind telling her how I injured my elbows and I told her “well I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome, which means…” and she completed my sentence for me. She knew what it was!

She is apparently studying to be an EMT. I have encountered many medical professionals in extensive fields of learning, who have no idea what Ehlers Danlos syndrome is, so I was very impressed.

She offered to open the door for me when I was leaving. She held the check down so I could sign it because I couldn’t lift my arm. She was insanely accommodating, and so kind.

I will absolutely be back.

I wish her luck on her studies! The world needs more people like her.

Went with my son for dinner and had a wonderful evening with delicious Expresso martinis 🍸 🍸⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐another five star experience with absolutely fantastic food!

One of my favorite places to dine in Guilford, if not the whole shoreline. Always an excellent meal and great service. The whipped ricotta with honey appetizer is a delight. The gnocchi, penne vodka, and chicken Cristina are some of my favorites. Desserts vary each night and are scrumptious. You cannot go wrong. Outside, it's easy to pass this gem by but it is a warm inviting place with charming atmosphere once you are inside. Never had anything but incredible meals here.

We've been coming to Guilford Bistro for a year now, and each time has been a great experience. The Italian food is the best around, the the staff is always accommodating, and the service is excellent and professional.

I want to give a special nod to the chef and manager. We always walk away happy and satisfied. I will continue to partake in their excellence and will never hesitate to recommend Guilford Bistro as the go-to restaurant.

I thought I had stumbled upon a well-kept secret, but it turns out everyone already knew about this gem! We stopped in for lunch on a whim and were immediately at home in the cozy, romantic atmosphere on a dreary winter afternoon. The food was phenomenal - best fried calamari I've ever had, and a plate of crab cakes over greens that were so delicious we devoured every bite. We then had gnocchi with sausage and fettuccini with scallops and shrimp. Outstanding food! Wonderful, laid back service. Just an overall delightful spot. Highly recommend!

The Penne alla amatriciana is the best pasta dish I've had in my life. Smoky, creamy, homey & rustic. I come here just to get this dish. Very cozy ambience, romantic - bistro lights hanging from the ceiling. The Mediterranean Mule with fig vodka is *chef's kiss*. I'm not a big fan of Italian food but I'm a huge fan of Guilford Bistro. Perfect for a date night, business dinner, or just a solo experience on a cold rainy evening. Rarely see children under 12. Long live Guilford Bistro!

When we are out and about we like to search for new places to eat. Well it didn’t disappoint. So cozy inside and there was not a seat to be had. We ordered the crab cakes for appetizer It was served with greens and beans with a dressing that was just perfect. For dinner we had the blackened salmon with a side of mash. It was perfect. Now for dessert, tiramisu my of my awesome. A must visit. Enjoy

Stopped for a quick lunch on my way home. The quality of the food and service exceeded my expectations. The chicken wrap and panini were amazingly fresh. The sweet potatoes fries were the best I ever had. Will definitely come back.

Wonderful! Small & charming atmosphere. I recommend making reservations. We showed up at 5:30 pm without reservations and they had a full house booked for 6:30. We agreed to free up the table by then and did not regret it. Cheryl and Sarah took excellent care of us. They both were very knowledgeable & that made our vegetarian requirements easy.
There was a birthday party of about 8-10 or so ladies having fun. My husband and I did not mind But I overheard 1 guest who did mind. If you prefer a quiet atmosphere I would ask while making your reservation if there are any large reservations at the same time. Obviously small settings can amplify others conversations.
Definitely check it out they are a gem!

The food was very good and the staff was friendly and attentive. Menu selection offers enough options for most people. Both indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re going during typical busy hours I’d play it safe and make a reservation. Parking is limited so you may have to park across the street by CVS.

Went here randomly after the pumpkin patch. And the food was so delicious. This Italian woman can cook and I am happy to say I cleaned off my plates. Everyone else in my party also enjoyed their meals.

Excellent dining experience. Loved the food! Loved the ambiance. GF options. We had the Carbonara and Lemoncello Salmon it was absolutely delicious! Will go back for sure!

Best Italian restaurant in Guilford. Amazing seafood and my particular favorite is their Penne a la Vodka with sausage. The atmosphere is small, but appealing. Service is usually on point. I highly recommend if you're in need for a little self-indulgence. A great environment for a date night.

I got the Sicilian Meatloaf and it was amazing! It was tender and flavorful and came with a side of mash potatoes. Honestly probably one of the meatloaves I’ve ever had.

The food is delicious! The service was not bad but considering it was a Friday night and there are no waiters to be found since Covid hit, the service was good- I would recommend this place for a date night or dinner with friends, this could be my new spot

The atmosphere is comfy and cozy and the waitstaff friendly (even on a very busy night). But if you love really good food, then come for the food! Have the Bistro Steak! Or the cauliflower with sopressata appetizer, or the Bistro Salmon. Everything we had was amazing.

First time here. Cozy and comfortable for a smaller restaurant. Very friendly people in front and tableside. Truffled Parmesan fries were very good. Pappardelle w/sausage was delicious. Portions are large here... an on bringing some home !! Will definitely be back as there's more on the menu I'd like to try.

Two friends and I had dinner there last Sunday and it was a pure delight.

The owner is an inspiring man with such a passion for his field he made it a joy just to speak with him about his vision and how he got to this point.

Finally, of course, the outside veranda and the great food lived up to and exceeded what at that point was expected.....
