Steve's Place

Absolutely the best Meatball Grinder I've had in any restaurant in Conn. Sliced to eat and not wear, and accompanied with potato salad is a definite winner. I live ought of town and I've brought some close friends in...who are also Italian, and they agreed with me how good the meatball grinder is. The wait staff is friendly and hard working and some have been employed there for years. I've been going there since the 90's. See you soon!

I'm giving Steve's five stars because my food was excellent but I was a little disappointed that I couldn't get spinach as a wrap or grinder topping. I had actually had trouble getting spinach on my wrap at a couple local delis and my coworker recommended I try Steve's as she thought they might have spinach on the menu and be able to throw some on a wrap for me. But I still love the food and Stateline potato chips is a huge plus! Plus the staff are super nice and accommodating (except for the spinach but I'm not holding that against them).

I've been going here since 1975, and there's a very good reason, quality, great ownership and staff. Steve's Place is Newington. My memories of Steve's Place are endless. Suzi Q's, Grape drink, and packman are just a few memories. The highest quality grinders, chicken entrees, shells with meatball, salad, and the feeling of home are their strengths. Their pastrami, tuna, and meatball grinders are the best in central connecticut. Say hi to doug for me. Go here when you can, disappointment is not an option. ❤

Delicious family owned business! Personal favorite is either the Italian combo or the steak & cheese! Dine in or take out, we do both! We also love the catering service, you can custom do your menu.

Old fashioned family owned business. Not many of those left. Great hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps and grinders. Friday's corned beef sandwich is fantastic. Very good quality deli meats. Service is friendly and fast.

There is nothing better than a local spot with quality food, great service, and fair prices. Super for catering parties, too. Doug is the best.

Great place to pick up some amazing grinders, my favorites are the chicken parm, steak and cheese, and the Italian cold cut.

They also sell "state line potato chips" which I thought were gone forever.
The workers are friendly and willing to chat. A bit outdated decor (dark green vinyl seats with dark carpet) but that's part of the charm!

Grinders and sandwiches are HUGE. the large is 2 16". They also have a onsight deli. Breakfast could be bigger but well worth the price. Im a huge fan. I come from Massachusetts and get food

My co-workers and I stopped in to have lunch today. Yes, it is a small little place, but full of charm from the friendly staff to the varies pictures of local sports teams and figures on the walls. I had the premium Italian sandwich and I was really impressed overall with the quality of the meats, the baguette, etc. My friends told me the Rueben sandwich served on Friday is a must. What impressed me even more was the welcoming attitude at this little place. The owner asked me how my meal was and overall visit, I told him this was my first visit and that I loved the sandwich and would be back. The price was reasonable. Some people complained about limited parking in some reviews, but there is extra parking in the back of the building, just go there, no big deal. Overall a nice little mom and pop place worth supporting by discovering it for yourself.

Nice family Resturant. Great grinders with all fresh ingredients. The steak and cheese is the crowd favorite. A daily special Hot meal is available. Friendly staff.

A bit outdated, but you're not here for the view, you're here for the food and boy is it good! Bread is fresh, meats are sliced on demand. I usually get the Italian combo and I'm never disappointed.

Was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Always knows what we want. Love going there with my grandpa. Would recommended it to anyone looking for excellent food.

Best place for breakfast down to earth and family atmosphere. Made me and my wife feel welcome like family. One of my favorite places now to eat and well worth dropping by.
