The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center

We had our wedding at Marketplace this weekend and it was amazing. We live in Canada and Brita made the planning so easy from afar. She made sure every single detail was sorted. They completely transformed the space for our wedding reception and it was so beautiful! The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We even took our leftovers home and had a big meal the next day. Huge thank you to everyone at Marketplace who made our wedding day so perfect! ❤

This is the Southwest Salad Yum! It's enough for a few meals! I had it with shrimp, you can usually get it with steak or chicken. The lady who made it for me was super sweet, staff friendly and nice.

Wonderful place for locals and visitors alike to have a bite to eat and some time to socialize. Last time I was here was decades ago when I had friends living in the area. Even more vibrant now as the town has more visitor traffic. Indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, but no table service. Sandwiches and wraps are very good, but be sure to order sides and beverages when placing an order because everything is a la carte.

Stopped into the Marketplace on the green in Guilford for lunch. What a treasure this place is. My husband is vegan happily they had options for him as well. It’s a walk up to the counter and order type of place with many many choices from deli to bakery coffee etc. Plenty of seating indoors and out. I noticed one of the soups of the day was a creamy carrot and dill needless to say I couldn’t resist it. It was delicious flavorful and creamy with just the right amount of dill. I asked for the curried chicken salad on a croissant it was so good a little sweet a little spice everything you’d want in a curried chicken salad. My husband went for the house made veggie burger which he absolutely loved. We will definitely return,

The burger was amazing! Very juicy and flavorful. The fries I ordered as a side were an entire other basket, and they were very good! The grilled cheese was delicious, as was the Whitfield 77 and the Smoke House. Can't wait to come back!

The Marketplace catered my office holiday party at my home in Guilford. Everyone loved every dish from the baked Brie and spanakopita for appetizers to linguini and clam sauce, chicken parmigiana, green beans and Brussels sprouts for dinner. The assorted cookie and bars platter for dessert was also a big hit! The food was delivered hot and right on time. So lucky to have this great, hometown company right here in beautiful Guilford. We were looking for a unique but special place to host our wedding rehearsal dinner, and after seeing The Marketplace featured as a reception venue on a wedding blog, we decided to look into it.

The Marketplace catering staff was honest and reliable throughout the process. I never felt like they were trying to take advantage of us as happened so often with other "seasoned" wedding vendors. The price they quoted was the actual price (no surprise up-charges after the fact), and the planning process was simple.

On the night of the dinner, the Marketplace staff was friendly and relaxed, and we were pleasantly surprised that all of their house wine tasted great (in fact, much better than the wine our wedding caterer included for the open bar). We had dropped off centerpieces earlier in the day, and the staff was kind enough to arrange them and the tables as we requested in advance, so it looked really nice when we arrived.

Even though our wedding reception was lovely, I actually had a better time at the rehearsal dinner. If you're looking for a venue filled with character and want to avoid the "Wedding Industrial Complex," The Marketplace is the perfect spot.

Our favorite spot in Guilford! This place has it all. You can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner. For prepared food, they have breakfast sandwiches, egg plates, burgers, fries, giant salads, chicken nuggets, kids meals, and more. There’s also a pastry cooler with crossaints, muffins, donuts, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Finally, there are really good soups that change daily.

At the drink bar you will find coffee creations, smoothies made with real fruit not those weird mixes some places have, hot chocolate drinks, teas, and milkshakes.

For easy dinner, there are prepared meals to go in the cooler. The butcher has delicious cuts of meat and seafood. There are frozen crab cakes and other delights. Plus a cheese and meat cooler and a small selection of non-perishable items like pasta and crackers.

The staff is always helpful and friendly. There are plenty of tables indoors and outside.

This place is worth a visit!

Wow!! Talk about a beautiful place ! And the food!? Out of this world! The Philly cheesesteak empanadas were amazing !

We picked up some trays of food for a luncheon. The Chicken Florentine was excellent. Thanks Andrea Dante for the great food and service.

My wife and I held our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the Marketplace in July of 2022. Her family has lived in Guilford for almost 20 years, and the Marketplace has always been a special place for them (and more recently for me as well).

We were very particular about the creating the menu such that it met the type of cuisine we were looking for -- one that captured the feeling of summer as well as our love for Connecticut and my home state, Maryland. We also had a number of guests with specific food preferences and allergies that we wanted to ensure were accommodated.

We worked with Brita who was amazing. Not only did she help us put together a completely customized menu for the event (including batch cocktails and several other dishes that were outside of their standard catering menu), but she also helped us figure out all of the seating arrangements, rentals, ambience, etc.

The event itself was a huge success and greatly exceeded our expectations. The food, of course, was excellent, and really captured everything we wanted from the menu. I would highly recommend the Marketplace for anybody planning this type of event.

The Marketplace catered our fall wedding. Brita, the catering manager, was excellent to work with before the event. Then the actual wedding was perfect, and we couldn't have done it without their help. The servers and bartender were lovely, and the food was excellent. We received many compliments on their work. We highly recommend Marketplace catering.

Just moved to Guilford yesterday, and feel really lucky to live nearby such an amazing market. Bought lunch to unpack with, fabulous sandwiches and giant cookies that were out of this world

Told the deli I had an allergy and they went as far as to call the chef to confirm what was in their sauces. That and the delicious latte is why I like small time businesses over big corporations.

We had the Marketplace cater our daughter's wedding reception. Brita did a great job of leading us through the steps and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and the wait staff were all pleasant, attentive and willing to help us however they could.
I would definitely recommend the Marketplace and their team to anyone looking to cater an event.

Ordered lunch today for the team at our shop to cook on the grill and the spread they gave us was nothing short of spectacular! Such a friendly and helpful staff too! Would recommend it to anyone who loves a great local food place with an amazing atmosphere and staff that goes above and beyond for their customers. Absolutely love this place!!!!

The food was excellent. A platter of assorted sandwiches/wraps
were very generous portions. The mixed greens salad and pasta
salad were delicious. Catering Dept. was very helpful.

This place is awesome! The portions are huge and well priced - I got a salad and it was big enough for two of us to share and still be stuffed. Love that they have a bar and the seating was comfortable. Definitely check them out if you're in the area.

Clean and friendly staff. Had one of the best grilled cheese.

Great food. They make good pastries, such as macaroons. Great place for lunch. I love their sandwiches/ sushi. They have a huge variety of hot chocolate which you can also get with almond milk. I definitely recommend it.
