I have lived here going on two years now, and have had many dealings with the post office. The postal workers here have always been very nice and helpful. To those who say otherwise what is your expression as you're approaching the counter? There are some rude people here in Elko. I smile a lot and get looked at like I have problems. Show kindness. I get it, its not always easy, but it's the better approach. I too fail at times😖. You're accountable for you and your actions. Blessings to whomever may ready this.

As best as you can expect from any type of federal agency.

I always have prompt service and a smile on the other side of the counter :) I really like coming here for my Post Office needs although I live in Spring Creek.

For some reason there are two listings for this Post office. The correct location is 275 3rd St.
They're open until 12:30 PM on Saturday.

This is the best POST OFFICE in ELKO NEVADA

1. I wanted to do my taxes and they had an obvious huge stack of forms behind the desk.They lied to me saying they had none.
2. Federal current law is that people are allowed to get general Delivery all but 6 weeks per year as a break. This location allows only 30 days
3. I was seriously warned that this location throws out mail. * I didn't believe it. Then they seem to have caused me a big mess of social security lost income for not processing my forwarding form when I moved out of Elko. AVOID even PUTTING your Letters in their out box out front. Those appear to be clearly the mail they are ThROWING AWAY

This is a classic small town post office with lots of stone and metal work. I went to this post office to submit my passport application. I was told in advance that they were going to complain about everything. This assessment was correct. They forced me to take another photo because she could tell tell if my chin was within the template because of my beard even though the rest of my head fit the template. Then she didn't like my travel dates. They also complained about the passport application from the person in the other line.

Heads up, if you want to use this place for general delivery you must sign up! This is the only post office I've been to which makes you fill out a form. Plus, the zip for this branch is actually 89803 not 89801, even though it says otherwise on Google.

If you don't take these things into account your package will bounce!

Addendum: Signing up for general delivery only entitles you to receive your parcels for a single month. If time expires while they're still in possession of your package, they will throw it away.

Learn from my mistakes.

I loathe every time I have to do business at the post office because one of the employees, Char, is rude, impatient, and sour every single visit. I understand people have bad days, but this is chronic. Last visit there was a woman in front of me in line who did not speak English but brought her son along to help and translate for her. This employee was extra impatient today and proceeded to shout loudly at the woman's son as if he was deaf, all while rolling her eyes and being rough with the ladies package. This has got to stop.

Apparently my in my building of 5 families, none of us receive mail and on the exact same days..... Ironic I think not. I have watched her completely walk right past and never come back. Once or twice I can see coincidence, but 3 days a week, no mail, entire building.

Refused to assist me even though I showed up before close and the person ahead of me was going to take her past close. So much for customer service. Business ran like that would normally be out of business.

The post office clerk Jina is extremely rude. She always upset for no reason!!!
