Melaque Mexican Restaurant

The food, the atmosphere, the drinks - they are all a must. We road tripped from northern Alberta Canada to Utah and this was our lunch/ dinner stop on day one and we couldn't have been more impressed. The food was authentic and incredibly delicious and the portion sizes were great for the price (I guess it is America). I also have some bad allergies and the server was wonderful and diligent in what I ordered, spoke with the kitchen and confirmed everything was good for me. Would definately stop here again if I was in the are.

Absolutely loved this place! We were stationed in Texas for 5 years and we moved back home- I didn't think we'd find any good food. But this was awesome! The server was great and the restaurant was decorated beautifully! Can't wait to go back!

We think this is the best Mexican restaurant in Montana. We've tried many, but this is the closest to authentic that we've found. Maria, the owner, was actually our waitress, and she's such a nice lady. You give them a try and determine for yourself. 🇲🇽👍

I live in Texas, so I’ve eaten more than my share of excellent Mexican food. When I visited family in Helena recently, they took me to Melaque’s to show me me it’s possible to eat great Mexican even when you are a thousand miles from the border, and they were so right. Melaque is outstanding!!

We were greeted and seated right away, and as we ordered our drinks, the place started filling quickly. The margaritas and piña coladas were yummy, and so were the complimentary chips and salsa. We got some queso as well. I ordered a combo plate with an enchilada and taco, while the others got carne asada and cheese enchiladas. It was all delicious!

Bold colors and bright scenes of traditional Mexican life are the vibrant decor, creating a happy vibe.

I’ll ask to go back here every time I come to Helena.

One of our favorite places to stop when In town. Tonight we had a new server Brenda. It was like she had been apart of the team for years. Great as always 👌 love the combo #8 yummy!

Awesome place for a day or night out. The food was excellent and really well priced. Kids menu available. We came away full and I will tell you, the Server was awesome. She was more than helpfull and was there when we needed Her. This if you have been to other places is a God send when you want a nice time out. Did I tell you the food is really good. Be there at 5pm or you will be waiting.

Small little restaurant attached to a casino. Very busy on a Friday night but we'll worth the wait. Staff was friendly and service was quick. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you happen to be in Helena!

Besides a little wait at 6:00 on a Saturday evening, (which was easily passed in the clean and fun attached casino) this restaurant was amazing! The staff was super friendly, our waitress was kind, thoughtful and very attentive. The food was by far the most authentic Mexican food we've had in MT since moving here from California 8 years ago. Husband and I were looking for a new place to try since we aren't from Helena and were not at all disappointed.
Food was, fast, delicious and hot! Fried ice cream another first for me was amazing as well. Nothing but good things to say about this place.

Great little place to stop in for a bite and an amazing Huckleberry Margarita!! I’m telling you, DO NOT pass up the margarita! We enjoyed the atmosphere, our server was top notch and our food was at the table relatively fast. We could even do a little gambling after our meal. If I’m ever in Helena, Mt. again, I’ll be eating and drinking at Melaque!

Melaques has amazing authentic Mexican dishes. Best in Helena. Family-owned and operated. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and always enjoy the food, atmosphere, and people. They first bring you complimentary tortilla chips and house-made salsa. The Sizzling Fajitas are my go-to favorite dish. Also, the margaritas are yummy. Right next door is 4J's bar and casino for more drinks and keno. Fyi, it does get busy on Friday night so expect to wait a little bit to get a table. It's worth the wait!

The food here is amazing!! I'm from New Mexico And finally I have found a Mexican food place that actually tastes amazing. I'm so thankful you're here in Helena. The inside is so beautiful. It's like you're in another place The non-alcoholic pina colada are amazing as well. The salsa, the enchiladas, the chicken taquitos, rice, beans all of it's all so delicious. Everyone's super nice too.

I have not visited here in quite some time. I recently took some friends to dinner on March the 9th. It was very busy and we did have a wait of about a half hour. But that is to be expected on a Saturday evening. I had ordered myself the chili rellenos a la carte. It was very tasty and I was very pleased with the prompt service once we were seated. For my dish being a la carte I was very pleased with my serving size. The two ladies I took to dinner were very pleased we're very pleased with everything as well. I definitely will be back

I lived at the boarder of Yuma AZ. and Algodnez Mx. for many, many years. When I moved to Montana, I couldn't find real Mexican food. I ate in Algodnez many times, and nothing here is even close to real Mexican food. Then I found Malaques. Thank God. If you havnt eaten the real taste of Mexico, go here. It's where it's at. Thank you Malaques!

Tried a combo plate and it was good, better than two of the other places I tried in town. They do have good refried beans and rice, better than most places that serve that sort of side. They have really strong margaritas! I had to wait around a bit after only drinking one before I could drive home. 🤣 the staff were very nice to me as well. Cute decor.

Atmosphere was great.. We were encourage to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, which we loved. The table and chair were works of art. We started with a delicious margarita and Corona.. Then moved on to the camaronas de la crema for me and carne asada tacos for him. Both dishes were fresh, full of flavor, and delicious. Our server was a young man that was very attentive and met our every need. We will def be back! Highly recommend if you're in Helena.

I finally found good Mexican food in Helena. Sadly for me I never noticed this place, only the casino next door. But inside it's cozy, brightly decorated, and with a menu full of Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites. I always order the carnitas in a new place, and they didn't disappoint. A pile of tender pork with guacamole, Pico de Gallo, rice and beans, and tortillas. I ate until I almost exploded and still took enough home for lunch the next day. My friend had carne asada, also fantastic, strips of tender beef with onions and peppers. They were out of flan, because it's so popular that you can't eat a late lunch and hope to get some.

Can't wait to go back.

Service was fast and friendly. We were seated quickly. Free chips and salsa were served and the chips were warm and the salsa was great. The food portions for the price were amazing. Lots of options on the menu and you can get a lot of combination plates! Would definitely recommend.

An excellent Mexican restaurant with very good service and very good value. I highly recommend it. Get there early as the wait stacks up starting around 5 PM or so.

The food is great, service is a bit slow and we had a 30 min wait to be seated. The bar is nice while you’re waiting.
