Athena Diner II

My mom and I stopped in for breakfast around 11 on a Saturday morning. They were busy but were able to seat us, and we couldn’t believe we were in and out in 45 minutes - it was great! Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and I also have to say this is one of the cleanest diners we’ve ever been to. Even the windows were sparkling! The strawberry shortcake pancakes were great, and usually I have difficulty finishing a stack of 3, but these were nice and light. My mom liked her eggs benny and hash browns, and the bacon was crispy and had a nice smoky flavor. A solid choice for breakfast on Washington Ave! We’ll have to come back and try them for lunch/dinner.

Athena Diner II in North Haven, CT, deserves every star! Being family-owned and operated adds a special touch to the experience. Whenever I return home, it remains my favorite spot to dine, evoking cherished memories. A true gem that stands the test of time.

Terrific food and service! Our server was on top of everything for all four of us. Lots of gluten free options, but alas, the fries aren't in a dedicated fryer, however, they looked like really good fries and others agreed. I normally opt for Greek food at this kind of diner, but I had a great roast beef club on gf bread that wasn't skimpy on the beef or bacon. Very reasonable prices and prompt service. Also very clean, well lit, and plenty of room for a bigger group. We would definitely choose this again when we're in the area so I can try some of the Greek dishes!

This was our first time visiting, but it won't be our last! The restaurant was spotless! Service was friendly and very, very quick! Food was delicious! Can't wait to go back.

New and great food! Large portions and friendly staff. Opened 24 hours it is perfect after a show at the Oakdale. I ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine and my husband got the tuna melt. Of course I tried his fries and they were crispy and not greasy. The home fries that came with mine were hot and delicious. We will be going again.

Just a quick impromptu brunch that turned out surprisingly well. I was not expecting the food to be so good. The rest of my party agreed. Everyone was super nice and friendly and the food was brought out promptly, very hot and delicious. This visit unexpectedly lifted my spirits for the rest of the day. Thank you, we'll be back!

So good. We had a party of 20 after a wake, server was s o nice and the food and service was excellent

We popped in on Sunday around 1:30 with a party of 8. They sat us immediately and even made our special requests with no trouble at all. The waitress was great and our food was hot

This was great!! The food was hot and delicious, the service was 10+! From the time to walk through the door! We were seated fast and we were a big party of 7. The waitress never skipped a beat! Great place to start your day dip your self in hot chocolate and whipped cream or be the generalist by ordering two eggs any style - They take care you with a very fast service and a warm smile

Breakfast was really good! They even have gluten free options. French toast with banana! We were seated quickly, served coffee & water right away. Great place.

Great house salad with grilled chicken. I was a little disappointed in the chocolate cream pie. I should have stuck with a fruit pie. Thankfully I could walk there from the Best Western. I would come back again

LOVE the Athena Diner. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner! Plus they're doing great work with COVID-19 protocols. Family owned, really great place!

Again both food and service were,top notch, I do have one recommendation management and that is to offer half sandwich portions for seniors.

Never disappoints! Food fresh, hot and timely. No intense harassment by the servers to order or leave. Environment clean, friendly and inviting. Sorry no pictures of my vegetable omelet.

The waitress was very nice and courteous. Had a great time. Chicken and waffles had way more chicken than i could eat.
