I left feeling so lovely. The stylist knew exactly what I wanted and captured it perfectly, all the while keeping me entertained with movies and shows available. However, I opted for the conversation. The space, while small, is a nerdy little cave of wonder. You won't be able to tell it's the location you're looking for, and that only made me far more intrigued. The action figures, 3d printers, and decorations had me feeling right at home 🤓

Basil was so nice and polite. He did great on my hair ( balayage, haircut and blowout) I like the most on how he cut my hair. The only one, I know how to cut hair since I left Philippines. I really like the outcome of my hair and gets a lot of compliments. Definitely, I will be back and I will recommend him.

This is not my first visit to Rocksteady, nor is it my first review of this business. Point is, I am extremely happy with my hair when Basil has finished his magic. I started Keratin Treatments a few yrs ago & am thrilled that I found Rocksteady & Basil to keep the service going. Today's service had the glitch of the power going out to the bldg in the middle of my treatment. Basil was great - he worked on timing to insure I got what I needed. So I ran out expecting to keep myself busy for at least an hour or more, but shortly after I left, Basil texted to let me know the power was back up. I raced back & everything turned out fine! I applaud Basil for his handling of the power outage (Eversource issue), continuing my service (if needed, he offered to meet me on Sunday to start from scratch!), & making my hair look as good as I expected it would! And the fact that he recently moved to Branford? Even closer for me! Thanks!!

Always happy with the results! Joe consults with me about what I want and is spot on with his advice. I’m often complimented on the color and condition - my hair is much healthier. His studio is a super cool environment and not shy on personality - love this place ❤

Always a great experience. Joe has been doing my hair for over three years and I won’t let anyone else touch it! Typically, I bring in a picture for reference and then just trust him to come close and use his judgment as to what would look good for my skin color/face shape/etc. He has never let me down! Prices are reasonable and time it takes for color/cut are also what you would expect anywhere. I will continue to patronize Rocksteady Hair studio any time I need a new look!

Simply stated, Basil is the best barber/hair stylist I have encountered and I am very particular about who cuts my hair. Basil takes the time to understand what I want, explains how he plans to achieve the look and is meticulous with his work. His experience and continued passion for his craft show as I always leave thinking to myself that I just got the best haircut.

I have a had time trying to find a good hair stylist who will work with dreads. Prices are more than reasonable! Most people will not even bother but as i have been doing them myself for 4 years I decided i need help with them. Joe took me in no problem! He helped me sculpt/tease the ends of dreads, he washed and bleached all 80-100 medium sized dreads i have and he also did a much needed scalp treatment! All together i spent 6 hours with Joe talking about life and goals. My dreads are the best they have ever been and i work go back anytime Joe would have me! When someone enjoys what they do, It really shows im their work!

Just got color and cut. Basil did Amazing job. He took his time with all the details. Got lots of compliments.I would recommend him and keep going to him.

Great place. Joe did highlights and a haircut and it came out excellent. Place was clean and Joe was friendly and did what I wanted and was patient with me since I was nervous about trying a new hair dresser. Will definitely go back!!!! Thanks Joe

Just moved to CT an was looking for a barber spot to cut my hair cause im very picky who cuts my hair. Made a appointment an when i got there he was super friendly made me feel comfortable an my hair cut was on point also would recommend him to who ever lives in CT
