Black Hawk Park Shooting Range

Been fishing wven thou the River is very shallow. Catching a few. My boyfriend uses the shooting range 2 practice his Bow. And the most beautiful wild life. It's amazing.

No pay. Quiet. Clean. Good scenic forest view by a river with trails and camp/rv grounds so after shooting you can go for a walk or have lunch in peace and quiet.

It's very well organized ranges for different distances, up to (I believe) 150 yards, as well as a bow range. For a free range it is excellent.

Excellent facility for the sport shooter or archer. Very clean. User friendly. I've enjoyed Blackhawk for 32 yrs., and never had a bad experience. Would advise checking in advance on park availability after rainy spell...tends to flood unfortunately. You will fall in love with Blackhawk. Check it out!!

Pretty cool set up! There's a long range and then two shorter ranges to shoot at.

I've used this range on several occasions. It's free and you can buy cardboard targets up front for like a dollar. It's also large so you don't have to share bays usually. The range can get busy around hunting season in the Fall. When the river floods, the range closes, which is a huge bummer when you want to go out. Range time operations run all week from 9am till 7pm, or sunset.

Clean, well maintained! Everyone there was respectful of each other and responsible. Will definitely be back!

Awesome place! It's amazing that there is no admission to use something so nice. There are 4 or 5 gun ranges at various distances and two archery ranges (one has an elevated platform to shoot from thanks to Impact Outdoors and hanging targets thanks to Scheels). The gun ranges have great "shooting tables" and dirt berms behind them. It isn't usually very busy but you will want ear protection even if you're only shooting 22s because there will probably be someone shooting something loud. Bring cardboard or a box to put your targets on. Stay Safe!

Really nice public range. 50 yd., 100 yd., 200 yd. Decent benches. Pretty well kept up. Mowed nicely. Easy parking. Bring your own stands and targets. Can be busy at times. Play nice with the other kids!!

There is an archery range close to the shooting range.

Place is clean with chairs to shoot from.

Excellent place for shooting. It does get kind of crowded sometimes on the weekends.

Beautiful scenery, but bring your bug spray as it's right next to the river.

Check online if there's been a lot of rain, cuz it does flood a lot.

It's a great set up, for the most part I've had the place to myself. The week days are the best. One thing though you can't shoot steel. Which would be nice for the 100 and 200 yard.

Come here regularly to work on marksmanship and keep from getting rusty. Facilities are great, and between the staff and the community, the range stays pretty clean.

Nice park, and range. It was free to shoot. Cardboard targets are available for $1.

Great place for target shooting. But there's one guy in a silver minivan that picks up spent brass. He always seems to get in people's way.

Many outdoor ranges here. Short, medium and long. Also a place to set up a trap thrower and now ranges.
