Curioporium

The Curioporium was a super fun and unique shopping experience! Being a lover of Halloween, I was very delighted to have happened upon this while in town. There were several rooms of awesome and creepy decor with items for sale throughout. There was even a tarot card reader there! Definitely make it a point to stop in here. According to our host, who was dressed and in character, the building is actually haunted, adding to the already fantastic atmosphere. There was so much to see. Everywhere you looked, there were tons of details and creative scenes, with each room having a different theme. It’s one of those things that you have to see for yourself!

A delightfully dark fun corner of Connecticut! Very non Connecticut indeed. Every inch is packed with cool products and creatively weird installation s. Everything but the staff is for sale make an offer. It's a haunted shopping experience you have to go . I purchased my Alister Crowley Thoth deck here so it's tied to a joyous time .

Officially in love❤❤❤. So finally took a minute to check this place out since I have been told to go....between my love of antiques and the oddities it's the perfect mix! They have so much great stuff and I will definitely be back to see what they get in for new stuff.

I LOVE Curioporium !!! if you are into the creepy, dark, spooky, haunted, Gothic, steampunk, and all around morbid curiosity seeker this place is for you. Everything from haunted artifacts to books, candles, tarot cards, and hey I even got a pair of Edgar Allen Poe socks. Anyway it's a definite must see if you are in the Hartford area. They also hold cool events that you can find listed on their website.

I have been to the Curioporium many times to shop and also attend some of the events held there. It's always a lot of fun. The attention to detail throughout it is peak and the staff are really cool! LOVE THIS PLACE!

This is a don’t miss experience and you’ll want to jump on visiting before tickets sell out! This is the most whimsical, clever and haunting experience that I know of. When you start your experience they really let you know they every move was calculated when each piece of art was created and every addition to the “collection” was thought out. I can’t wait to take everyone I know here. I could spent hours getting lost in all of the sights, sounds and attention to detail. After the year we’ve had, the hosts’ humor are so appreciated.

One of the coolest little places in CT, a store full of interesting things and an excellent weird attraction to visit.
One of the best attractions in CT although getting in can be a problem, simply call the place and you will be let in if the front door seems locked. Unsettling building by the way.
Every time I go there, something feels off.

My fiancé and I went there for my birthday and we did the tour with the Grim Reaper. From the moment you walk in well….you will just know you are in the right place! The Grim Reaper and the young lady there tonight were just awesome and we just had funny interactions while they stayed true to their characters. I am, not will, am going to go back there again.

I have never been so inspired. They eclectically bring in oddities from defferent cultures NOT just respectively but also respectfully. The artists here add inspiration from the fans interactively. Plus they go as far as to bring in local talent. It really is a safe place where the cast , owners and artists really care about you even on a personal level. So it's not just a business. its really isnt just a shop or a show its become a community. I've been cross country 8 times and it's still my favorite spot. They really have brought aesthetic to Connecticut.

It was on my bucket list for a very long time amid the Covid nightmare.

We had tickets to the Titanic show they held and was not disappointed! After being allowed to tour/shop in the back area, I feel in love with the place. Already planning our next trip back!

What a cool place to be. A shop with a backstory and truly immersive experience. AND you can buy so much cool stuff. Love hanging out there. On top of all that they have really cool events like seances, monster hunting, ghost tours and you might even meet Edgar Allen Poe. Can’t wait to go back again.

Incredible show and well worth the drive from out of state! I was amazed, enchanted, spooked, and dazzled but all the journey had to offer!! I could not stop looking at all the oddities, the entire experience was just fantastic! I would HIGHLY recommend taking five of your best friends for an evening you won’t soon forget!

You will love this place. Always something new to see and discover. Its definitely one of Hartford's hidden gems. I love finding gifts for my friends who always seem so happy to receive such original pieces. The staff is so knowledgeable and fun it make you feel like you on an adventure.

An awesome, immersive shop, run by genuine people. I happen to be a reader there, and I have found the owners, Joey and Nathan, to be kind, honest, and genuine people. If you're looking for someplace fun and out of the ordinary, stop on in! Very creative, and very awesome.

I've been to the curioporium a few times and it is always different! The theatrics are A feast for every single sense. (including the cicadas that are in a jar free to eat🤢)
You can spend hours and hours and hours in there and never see everything! And the staff is amazing. Characters and very guest oriented!!! I highly recommend a trip to the curioporium! You won't be let down!

Literally one of the coolest places I've ever visited. Super cool vibe, fascinating and beautiful items, and very friendly staff. You have to stop by if you're in the area

5 stars because this place is a labor of love. Someone has put a ton of thought, and money into making this a truly unique shopping experience. "Everything is for sale. Well, almost everything." Worth a visit, especially if you're already in the building!

A fabulous gem in Hartford’s new design district. Steampunk and other curious and magical creations, wands, found objects, in gorgeous space. Surprisingly low prices too. Limited regular hours but available for gatherings too—when we were there they were prepping for what has to be the coolest baby shower ever.

Excellent spooky shopping experience. A real Connecticut treasure. I've been going there for years and it's always full of new and unique merchandise. Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic time at the Curioporium this evening. Exploring the Havisham Vault was both eerie and exciting. Words don’t give justice to the wonders you will see inside! Highly recommend!
