This place is really cool and rural America, a.k.a. Augusta, Kansas.

Think of the movie pulp fiction and the diner in that movie called Jack rabbit slims . With that in mind this place remind you of it he doesn’t have a big dance stage, but it does have a really eclectic and cool feel to it.

This place has an ample number of tables and booths, which happen to have white vinyl over them, which make it feel like some kind of 1957 Chevy.

From what I could see that even have out rental rooms for events and this place really has a cool vibe and you should do that.

The menu is just right on price and size. There’s not too many items but there’s plenty to give you a wide selection. A couple of us in our group had the taco salad, which really was very nice for taco salad.

If you’re in Augusta, Kansas, and you want a cool place with a great feeling friendly people and good food this is definitely the place to go.

The sign outside says world, famous, and this thing could be franchise so someday it might be.

I went to the New England Style Seafood event that they recently held and was happily satisfied! The fried Cod was tender, flaky, and moist with a tasty and crisp breading! The Crab Cake was the same way! The wait staff was very friendly and checked in quite often. Their full bar offered very tasty drinks as well! I especially enjoyed the Tito's mule!

Driving to Wichita to catch a plane and we were looking for a small eatery hopefully locally owned. Came across Sugar Shane’s. Cool beach vibe (in Kansas?) with a nice, varied menu. Kacy took good care of us and was very personable. Sea food basket, build your own burger and chili were our selections. All very good, served hot and tasted fresh. Highly recommend heading downtown if you are ever in Augusta and have a meal here. Ask for Kacy😃

First time going to Sugar Shane’s Cafe. I ordered the fish taco with seasoned rice, husband got chicken fry with mashed potatoes and gravy, side salad and ordered coconut shrimp and fried pickles. Everything was delicious! Staff was young, but very attentive and best service we’ve had in a long time in these days of restaurants being short staffed. Will definitely go back!

We chose Sugar Shane’s for our event and it was perfect. Food was great and the staff was very organized and responsive. Love the outdoor space too. Highly recommend!

Everything from the decor to the food, best steak I’ve had hands down! Perfectly cooked, seasoned and the meat is locally sourced from walnut valley farms. My wife got their pan seared fish in white sauce, I’m not a seafood eater but boy was I tempted!!

Don’t just take my word for it, you owe it to yourself to come on out and see Sugar Shane himself! Ohh I forgot to tell you!! He’s commonly found visiting tables giving his southernly tropical warm greetings and thank you’s, this was our first trip and we’ll definitely be back for more!

Use to be hole in the wall bar named oak tree. They have converted into an amazing laid back, bar,, Cafe, retail store,, etc..
In the summer they have outdoor corn hole on the patio. Seating also available.

What a great restaurant!! Had the chicken fry, it was really good. Sugar Shane Cafe have a nice verity of food. It's a must-try!! We'll be back

This so the first time I've visited this establishment and I am very happy with the food, the service and the overall location. The people were very pleasant, our server was quick with refills and anything we asked for and the food came out exactly as ordered, hot and tasty. We'll definitely be back!

It was a little cold inside but the food and service were great. It was our first time going there, very pleasant experience.

Hands down, the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had! The service was above and beyond. Shae was my server. She was very polite with a bright aura all around her. There was a dinner rush just after I was seated, my order was taken promptly, and when Shae was busy with her other tables, Gracie was sure to ask me if there was anything I needed. I didn’t get the expediters name but I do remember his friendly face as he was smiling ear to ear while handing me my food. Sugar Shane’s was definitely noting in conversation with my coworkers! We will be going again soon! Keep up the good work!

Sugar Shane’s has become a favorite place of ours for fun family gatherings. Their outdoor patio has games for both adults and kids to enjoy, plus food and mixed drinks are great! Depending on the size of your party, you may have somewhat of a wait but it’s totally worth it due to the great atmosphere and great staff! Would highly recommend!

My family lives only a few minutes away from Sugar Shane's Cafe. To be fair, we were a bit apprehensive to try this place because some of our family members did not recommend it (even though they hadn't been there since shortly after it opened several years ago).

Since my wife was out of town, I took my two sons (13 & 11) there, and honestly, it was a great summer lunch experience. Sugar Shane's has a surf shop / beach vibe for the most part. It's simple decor evokes that boardwalk feel you get on several of the beaches in Florida up and down the coast. Of course, in the middle of Kansas, you step outside into downtown Augusta.

The hostess/waitress greeted us with a bubbly attitude and seated us promptly. She took our drink order quickly along with our appetizer order of southwest egg rolls (which were perfectly good). Since it was lunch, I just had a soda, but beer or other mixed drinks are definitely an option.

Between the three of us, we ordered the BLT sandwich, the cheeseburger (which they did cook to medium rather than well by request), and I had the fish wrap. There are also flatbread pizza options, salads, several other sandwich options, etc. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we thought the fries were quite good as well. If you are looking for high-end, white table cloth service, you should drive into Wichita, but if you'd like to support a local business as an alternative, give Sugar Shane's a try. I think you will love it.

Wow this is really a great place. The country fried chicken and onion rings are the best I've had in a longggg time.

A great place in Augusta to relax with friends and family. Food is good. I suggest the fish dinner. And the chocolate cream pie.

Our hometown Sugar Shane’s is the best place to eat. Food and drinks are always excellent and very affordable. The atmosphere is always cozy and comfortable. The staff go above and beyond in serving people. Sugar Shane’s has unlimited choices on the menu and the quantity is outstanding. The desserts are to die for. You never go away hungry. I strongly recommend going there. Wait staff are always happy and eager to please. Oh and I forgot cleanliness. You’ll never find a cleaner restaurant.

Update, March 4th 2019. Really looks great after the remodel. Great job Shane, still great food, live the daily specials. Ate supper again here on April 3rd. Had the chicken fried chicken and my wife had the fish. Both good flavor. (A little greasy, but still good)
