Hen House Market

Town Center Hen House is a Highly Specialized Food Store with Kosher Items. Located at Roe and 119th in Leawood, KS. As you enter, there is a Starbucks Kiosk by the Fresh Produce area. Hen House has a wide selection of Fresh Flowers, Fresh Produce, home style Sandwiches ready to go, large salad bar and enormous Cheese bar. Limited mid-day Fresh Stir Fry hours for serving off a 4.5 foot flat stone grill for making fresh stir fry. There is a variety of meats to slice and about a dozen veges/tuna/ turkey/ chicken salad mixes. There is a variety of KOSHER meats, soup, sandwiches and more, available by the Deli. Hen House has a long meat selection and fresh fish choices. Great variety of bread and pastries, plus ability to place orders for a variety of flat cakes and layered cakes. Helpful staff, clean store. And wide aisles make shopping easy. Call for store hours. Disabled and wheelchair accessible. Disabled parking is limited in front. This is one of my Favorite Grocery Stores in the entire area for Specialty foods. 02-20-2024. Mgb.

The largest and cleanest Hen House I have been to. Lots of lunch options in this place. Went in to grab a salad and couldn’t believe how many people were inside. Salads, sandwiches, grilled foods, wing bar and even an olive bar. I went around lunch time and cars were circling and waiting on people just to get a spot. Plan on just parking in back and walking a little bit. The line for Starbucks inside was wrapped around the corner too. My photos are just from one side.

This is by far one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at in the area. The salad bar is great and I’ve found myself driving out of my way to grab a salad from here.
I really enjoy the large selection of cheese’s and food in the deli.

The store is immaculate, well organized, (easy to find what you’re looking for) well lit and has good prices. My wife swears by this specific Hen House Market and I never realized why until I went with her.

The only issue was that the self check out was a little finicky but that’s a corporate problem, not a local problem, so it doesn’t seem right to deduct a star.

I love shopping there🙂💕 The staff's is very friendly and Professional and knowledgeable. Everything is always Fresh!!

It was late, steak was on sale, meat man wasn't there, so I left my number. Next morning meat man calls and cuts up 100 pounds to my specifications. Since he hadn't been there, I checked out the floral department. I bought a bird nest with Robin eggs. Lynn Silvey, Floral Manager, very talented. She made the cards in the pictures. Deborah F., cashier, very cheerful for being so close to closing. She loved my perfume, I brought it to her when I picked up my steaks. I can't forget Jay, he's responsible for the communication between the meat man and I and showing me where to find the last few things on my list. I have a book of coupons I bought the next day that saved me $10. I will be back.

Awesome selection of products especially produce. I feel like this Henhouse gets first pick of the batches of fruits & veggies. Definitely a little pricey, but what grocery isn't now days? Very VERY kind, caring, helpful staff many of whom have been there for very long. I'm really grateful I have this great grocery store nearby 😊

Absolutely amazing floral department. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch the woman's name that assisted me with my arrangement while there. She was so supportive from the very beginning all the way to the end. She gave me some tips on how to take care of the flowers and asked if I needed a vase. She asked if the arrangement was what I wanted. She seemed like she genuinely cared. Thank you so much.

As an additional note to the shoppers, I would say you will pay nearly half of the regular market price for flowers here. Everywhere I looked in Kansas City, a 24 bouquet of flowers cost more than $120. Hen House gave me an unbeatable deal while ensuring the quality was still being met. I saw many beautiful arrangements while there as well.

Wow... all I keep wondering is why can't they expand to my state? Huge, spotless, and a fresh foods area to die for...

It's close by my work place, so I often stop in. This past Friday, I made time to make a salad from the salad bar. Look, just go make yourself a salad from the bar. It's by weight, but it's quite reasonable in comparison to all of the many restaurants in that area. And the quality is beyond what you might have served to you in one of those restaurants. And a nice little area to have lunch as well with a modern fireplace and all. Try it some day for your lunch; I may well there dining and you are welcome to thank me.

Love this store. Always spit and span with bloody good staff who are always helpful. Only thing I wish it had was more international foods aka British food and sweets (candy) 😋

Had to pop in last week to pick up a few things and I had my 10-year-old son with me. I had a question for an employee and they stopped what they were doing to help me and went to the back of the store to see if they had what I needed (which they didn’t). Then I was having a problem with Apple Pay and the person at the register came over and helped me figure it out. As we were walking out, my son asked how I would rate the service because those people were so helpful! I agreed and said I should leave a review to let them know. Great work, Hen House!

Well worth the drive from Mission - best grocery store in the area - huge selection from grocery basics to high-end specialty foods to ingredients for special diets. Excellent quality butcher, bakery and deli. Plus the whole store is nicely laid out and pleasant to shop in.

This grocery store is far above average. The quality and breath of selection of produce is excellent. The bakery has a great selection of Tippins pies, breads, and very good pastries. The meat department is outstanding. Superb cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and veal you usually don't see in most grocery stores. Likewise the selection of fish is great. The rest of the store gas the usual, but sometimes a wider selection. The ice cream area also has a wider selection of treats than others. Parking is ample, easy in and out.

Never thought I would fall in love with a grocery store, but Hen House is where it's at! After moving here from Richmond, VA and regularly going to the grocery GOAT, Wegman's, I never thought I would find a store that could compare. Thankfully, I knew I was wrong when I stepped into Hen House. The atmosphere - amazing! Hot food options - delicious! Customer service - unparalleled! I'll be a regular customer here for many years to come!

I absolutely love Hen house ! I purchased all my meat from this store. The store is always neat and clean. It is a little pricey but I will pay the price for the best!

I'm really impressed. It's such a fun place! I found everything I wanted and more. I got all the ingredients for my friend's birthday dinner. Am especially happy with the fresh salmon and special cheese for the quiche!!! Even got a Rewards card at the checkout. Nice people also. Will be going back soon!!!

Beautiful store, great quick meal options, and my favorite part: Laura, the cheese monger. If you need cheese she is GREAT! She really knows her products, is super helpful, and has a great attitude. Did I mention they have roughly 200 cheese options here?! Amazing! Personally, I prefer the cheese department here over all the others I have visited in the metro. There are a few cheese choices that Whole Foods has a better price on but for the convenience and helpfulness of staff, I’ll stick with the Hen House. Well done, Hen House, well done!

This is the most upscaled grocery store I’ve EVER shopped at. It’s one of the VERY few places that still has a salad and soup bar. I also really love the bakery. Just about everything you need, is right here!
