This is a mail-order pharmacy, but there is also an option to pick up your medication there as well. Pretty cool.

October 2022 (Edit, 4 stars on 10/12/2022)
They have been patient with me and ensured that my medication is always on time. No problem in the past 10 months. So giving them 4 -stars and hopefully I can give them 5 stars in 2 months.

------
Dec 14, 2021.. Still having problem every refill.. My refill order this month was cancelled twice. I had 3 phone calls. CVS said I don't have refills left. Doctor's office said I have 5 refills left and was sent to CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. I don't know what to believe but this is me just frustrated. For the last 5yrs, I never had problem with prescription refills. I want to believe the doctor's office messed up with refill orders but I was okay before I moved to this pharmacy. I will give 1-star because the customer service is still patient with me but I am losing my patience. This is not fun.

----------
I give them 3 stars for these 2 reasons.
Taking action
1. I called several times giving the information for the co-pay. There was an instance they want me to put those information myself because they can't figure out how to do it. Come on, how many times a customer need to call for you to take action? Thankfully, after 3 phone calls with different persons, this issue was resolved.
Prescription Orders
2. I did 3 orders for my prescription. My prescription is ordered at this pharmacy and is sent either to my address or to a CVS nearby. First one was smooth. For the second one, issues with copay which was resolved after several phone calls, and I needed to beg that they send me my prescription because I am almost near my last dose. For the third one, I will get it on the same day I need it. So much fun. I just hope it is ready to be picked up tomorrow when I go there.
I don't like writing bad reviews but this new experience is making me anxious. I was getting my prescription from Walgreens until I was forced to use CVS Specialty because it is the preferred pharmacy by my health insurance. I hope that by writing this review, you will improve your service. Thank you for making sure I will have my prescription on time (hopefully not on the same day I need it) but I believe you can do much better.

The reason im giving it a 3 they are very helpful to get my son's medicine. They are very friendly and understanding however i have been trying for 3 days to get his medicine this time around. I call every week for refills been doing this for about 4-5 months now. In the beginning it was such an easy experience. Lately it has been nothing of a headache!! I have been on hold theses last times for over 40 mins!! I understand being busy but really this takes the cake. I have even messaged them and they said to call back and keep trying which i do its just so irritating. Vent over

Been waiting a week and their web site still says my prescription is "being reviewed." Called when they opened and I've been on hold for 40 min. There doesn't appear to be any way to actually talk to a person, just a loop of robo operators that eventually drop my call. Go anywhere else.
update: eventually I talked to two actual people and they were really nice and solved my problem.

I have never had issues with having medications being filled like I have with CVS specialty pharmacy. I keep getting notifications to refill my medication & when I try to have it refilled, I keep getting the runaround. I’m locked out of my account with CVS Caremark and even though I.T has been working on it for over a month, nobody can figure out what’s going on. I keep getting told my prior authorization is not on file and I have to keep giving them my prior authorization approval number and the dates it is good for. I was on the phone for almost 2 hrs the other day and nothing got resolved. Tonight I was on the phone again and they are saying the prior authorization number is no good and my Dr will need to submit a new one.

I would rate zero stars if I could. This is the most unprofessional, inept, incompetent pharmacy I have ever dealt with. My medication is always delayed. For 7 months I’ve had to miss my scheduled medication dates because of their incompetence causing me to fall back into active disease. At this point there has to be legal consequences for myself and other patients mandated to use this pharmacy.

This is the most incompetent pharmacy I have ever dealt with. If zero stars was an option they would receive zero, just like I have zero medication doses courtesy of their inability to properly submit claims to insurance.

CVS won’t accept THEIR OWN CARD as payment and sent me to collections after 2 months of daily phone calls to get it resolved. Disgusting company that will personally ruin your credit. DO NOT USE THEM

This is a terrible specialty pharmacy, there is no patient advocacy or communication with patient. I was previously using Walgreens Specialty pharmacy, which was wonderful - they handled all the administration work for me, and I did not have to stress about getting my prescriptions approved through insurance. This CVS Specialty pharmacy expects the patient to handle all the administration work. I had to enroll myself in the Abbvie patient assistance program, reach out to my doctor and tell them where to fax the orders to, and call each time to make sure they applied the Abbvie coupon. The people working here like to make getting your prescription as difficult as possible. Living with a chronic illness is already difficult, and this pharmacy just makes it worse.

After 96 minutes on hold, they finally looked up my prescription and lo and behold no one has contacted the doctor after calling the scrip in 8 days ago. Essence asked if I wanted her to call the dermatologist now( 6:10 pm cdt)? Are you serious? Go ahead if you honestly think a doctor let alone a specialist is going to answer. She must not have liked that answer, she hung up. This kind of customer service is what I have come to expect from anything CVS. I guess I'll just have to drive over to their office since I live in the same metro area. I wonder if the service gets any better if I'm standing in front of them? Doubtful! This is just another way the health Insurance co cuts cost while my premium skyrockets out of control. I hope you all GO BANKRUPT.

Sooooo this is the most awful pharmacy and business that I have ever had to interact with. We were forced by our insurance to use Caremark specialty pharmacy for our infertility medications. We were given benefits of $2500 towards medications .... we had researched prices of these meds and were prepared to pay $1500-$2000 more for our meds. So they call me to say after insurance I still owe $3900!!!!! What?! That doesn't even make sense I called several other pharmacies and everyone else was far less then this. They are crooks. So since this was the only pharmacy I could use ... I called them back and asked them to break down to me the price of each medication ... how much my insurance covered on it and how much my co pay was. This is where it got really sketchy .... they started to explain to me that medication x cost: $1100 and guess what my co pay was? $1100 but so I started to question them on this ... how is my co pay the same price as the medication that is double dipping ... it would make more sense to pay for it out of pocket. Crooks. Then the representative didn't want to continue down my med list of several medications .... instead she was able to get my meds from $3900 to $1900 .... hmm interesting. So I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me they said no receipts are emailed only mailed and they would send it out. So upon getting my meds I verified I had everything and it was there fast forward to the night I start taking the meds .... and they send refillable cartridges for a follistim pen that I don't have because I have never used these meds before. So they got a good earful when I called the next day and they sent it overnight. Meanwhile it's been about 3 weeks and I still haven't got this receipt. So when I call to refill a prescription I ask again for my receipt .... they have to transfer me to billing who says they will send it out and I will receive it in 7-10 business days. Well here I am another month later still haven't got the receipt ... I have to call them anyways because they didn't send me enough syringes for my month supply of medications. I have a vile of meds (good for 10 days) and only one syringe left. Mind you this medication is very important in sustaining my pregnancy after 5 years of infertility. So I call to let them know I need more syringes because I only have enough for today (Wednesday) and I am suppossed to keep taking it till next Tuesday, the representative is found to tell me they can't just send out syringes .... that I have to get some from my dr. I said no with the amount of money I have paid for my medications I should have enough syringes. Why would u send a month supply of meds and only 3 weeks of syringes, he then says he sent out 30 days of syringes on the 14th of last month (today is the 18) I am aware I have been on these meds for two months now .... I order a few days in advance and there are syringes missing ..... I tell him I need to speak to a supervisor he puts me on hold for 5 min comes back and tells me that his supervisor will send them out but can't till Friday which is bs bc they can overnight and have up until this point. By time they get here I would have missed several days of injections .... yet they don't care that this is a necessary medication to sustain a pregnancy. This company is nothing but crooks i still haven't got my receipt for meds I paid for... it is worth the headache to find a specialty pharmacy else where ... as they don't get the seriousness of medications needed for life.
