Smokin' Joe's BBQ

So I guess I'm a bit behind. For lunch today a friend took me to Smokin Joe's when he found out I had never been. I had driven by the restaurant several times and always said I would stop someday. After today's visit I'll be back soon. Smokin Joe's is smaller than the other Joe's that is here in Olathe but the food has a great smokey taste that I love. Today I had sausage and brisket and enjoyed them both. I haven't decided about the sauce yet it was a touch sweeter than i normally eat, but it was still quite good. Customer was awesome and the lady that assisted us happens to be pictured behind the counter.

I used Uber eats to get an order delivered to a semi truck. I don't know how uber review works but it was directed at the driver and not Smokin Joe's, anyway I called an spoke with Janus about my order missing something and she got the missing item to me. I appreciate very much that she fixed it and went way above an beyond to get the item to me. If I have to come back to town again for another delivery I'll use uber to bring me and dine in. The food was delicious, loved the pulled pork and the coleslaw was amazing.

We had an awesome visit on our road trip from Connecticut to California. Our server was incredibly helpful and made sure we tried all the best eats. We had ribs that fell off the bone, smoked chicken that was juicy and flavorful, beans, corn nuggets and fried mushrooms. We'd recommend it to anyone!

Every experience here has been excellent and.. UBEREATS!!! This is an awesome feature to be able to get great BBQ delivered. Well worth trying. The Big Bad Joe is excellent.

Good bbq. Ribs and brisket are by far the best meats on the menu. Their fried okra is not to be missed. The onion rings are pretty good too but really all of their sides are tasty, it just depends on your daily preference. Service is usually very friendly.New to town, all the people in my office have been raving about this place, so I place an order of 4 smoked wings,

My husband and I stopped in around 8pm and hour before closing. We were helped quickly and food came without a long wait. We both had the brisket sandwich which was wonderful, I had the friend mushrooms (a personal favorite anywhere I go), and he had the sweet potato fries (I'm not always a fan of these but the texture was very nice and not at all soggy like a lot of places.)
While a bit pricier than we would normally spend on a quick meal it's was all very good and something we'd think of stopping in for more when in the area.
The place was very clean and had an established feeling.

Was passing through on our way back home, needed gas so we exited off. We were hungry so I googled restaurants close. We decided while in Kansas City, might as well check out a BBQ joint. The guy up front was friendly and very helpful, asked and answered questions quickly and checked on us after we had our food. Small little place but good prices and a friendly atmosphere.

Honestly one of my favorite BBQ joints in KC. It's a bit of a dive, wood panel walls that have probably been there for a few decades, but don't let the decor fool you. This place knows what they are doing when it comes to BBQing the meat. Their ribs are tender and meaty, and always cooked to perfection. An order of fries is large enough to share. The corn nuggets are amazing! With a to go order, I usually order two orders of corn nuggets, one to eat in car, and other to enjoy at home with the rest of the meal 😁. Their baked beans are also a solid side choice. The staff is always pleasant and friendly.

In short, eat here for delicious BBQ!

My go-to place for ribs in KC! The only side I've tried is the beans, which are good, but not the best in town. But the ribs... I eat them straight, without sauce, and they have the best flavor I've found in KC! The sauce is good, too, and I'll use a little sometimes, but I don't want to mask the smoked flavor of the meat. If you love tender, meaty, smokey ribs, go to Smokin' Joe's!

My crew goes here almost every Sunday for the rib special. After getting bad store brought ribs my friend suggested we go here. Now we are regulars. The food is always good. The restaurant looks exactly like you would expect a bbq place. It is clean and affordable. If you have never been here I suggest you try it. You will love it.

Fast friendly
Came in late, tired and hungry. Had been driving all day. Made us feel very welcome, and loaded us up with a meat platter made to order.
The ribs were big, meaty and moist (not to mention delicious).
I also loved the extra creamy slaw.
Should have saved room for the hot crispy fries, but I had to finish the corn nuggets.

Amazing ribs and fantastic customer service! I will be back. $15 full rack on Wednesdays

When I try a new BBQ place, I always try the burnt ends first. Smokin Joe's burnt ends are the best I've ever had. They were cooked just right and juicy. The sauce is above average.

The sides are good. I normally don't like cole slaw but I loved theirs. The beans are first rate with chunks of meat. The fries are average.

I can't say much about the service since I always take the food to go but while I'm waiting at the counter, people seem to be having a good time.

I've had the chicken dinner too and it was good but not anything I'd write home about.

Went in on a whim with the wife and kids. We had heard about this place but never been. Great food and even better hospitality. I'm guessing the guy who was behind the counter is the owner. Either way, totally made us feel at home. Exceptional customer service. Can't wait to drop back by.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been going there since I was in HS. I come in almost every thursday. The burnt ends are absolutely top notch. NO ONE DOES THEM BETTER!!! An excellent KC BBQ representative! You have to try the Wraps! Keep up the good work

Great food fast and fresh. Nice family environment , even a patio outside to eat on. They even have catering . Especially like their strawberry or red cream soda. Their barbecue is on point. Family friendly environment. Nice and friendly staff. My family and I will for sure be going back again. Nice easy location to get to located right off of Santa Fe Street in Olathe Kansas.

My fav. Bbq place. I know a lot of people who don't like this place but I think they are nuts. Food is always good, nice Smokey flavor and never fatty, great sides and never busy. Sometimes the employees are really slow or hate life but the food is great. Twice a week they do 1/2 off ribs and it's such good deal you can't say no.

Love Smokin' Joe's. Their BBQ is some of the best around. They have a Sunday pork rib special for $14.99. I usually call the order in and pick it up. I've never waited for more than about five minutes. It should feed about 3-4 people. Small place but great food.

No frills experience with quality BBQ food. The food is great with lots of choices. A very old school and homey feeling to the place. Great for a quick dining experience, but not for a prom dinner. The poor Joe they serve is worth a try.
