Remarkable! We've been to so many parks over time, but, this park was extremely innovative with their layout! Wow! All the kids responded in the same way! It's not the biggest layout I've seen, but, the kids and parents are in "awe" from the tube- tunnels that run under the playground! What a hit! 👏 It's clean, bathrooms are newer, shelter is impressive and additional shelter with an outdoor fireplace is incredible! Plenty of parking with an asphalt lot! Hats off to everybody involved! Other cities should take lessons on this one! 👍😉

Lone Elm Park might be known most for its sports fields, but checking out the historic section of the park can take you back in time.

Nice complex, good idea to have the concession up on a hill. Good exercise, some of us softball parents could use a good walk once in a while before eating our chili dogs.

The newly updated picnic area is great. They've added a second large shelter. Bathrooms instead of port a potties and a playground. The nature trails are clean and inviting. There is ample parking for large family picnics or gatherings. I'm not sure people are even aware that Lone Elm Park is not just a soccer/ball field.

Has a great walking trail. Soccer and Baseball facilities, as well as a kids park. When it rains, the soccer fields do get soggy fast and cancel games.

This is a great find. I should keep it a secret as it is rarely used, at least when we have been there. 2 big, lighted shelters. One with a huge fireplace. Lots of tables.

Attended the lone elm soccer fields. the soccer field entrance is further down 159 past the park entrance and they are not connected. Arrive early as parking is limited. It isn't clearly marked but the roads in and out are both one way. Fields are grass, not turf like most other fields in Kansas City

We love this park. A fun playground was added last year (2019) along with restroom facilities and a second picnic shelter. We appreciate the trails for hiking and biking. It's never busy unless you go when there are sports activities taking place. The trails are surrounded by soccer fields and baseball fields.

Our son has played soccer here for years. Love the fields. It's even better now that they've built a bathroom facility. Safe area. Quiet surroundings. Nice facility overall!

Had a BBQ here. Good time, quality pavilion and nice facilities. The pavilion is nice and well maintained. It has a fireplace/hearth which is cozy. Looks like it is usable and functional. The pavilion is essentially a jungle gym though, so be prepared to watch your kids carefully!

I print t-shirts live at soccer tournaments, this was a great weekend. Good games Great weather We saved a Great Horned Owl that was caught in a net and the animal control came to make sure it was ok and set it free. Lone Elm RULES! So much nicer with the New bathrooms and Concessions and paved parking lots .

I love this little park. I have visited dozens of times as a quick get away from work at lunch. I've walked all of the trails and often just walk in a little ways to find a quiet place to eat or read. I also recently planned a company picnic at the shelter house. We had a fantastic time playing yard games, eating dinner, and roasting marshmallows in the enormous fireplace. I think the only thing it lacks is "real" bathrooms.

Walk the trails and enjoy the relative quiet; if you are lucky you may see deer, coyote, or a fox.

Was only there for a soccer tournament. Restrooms were nice but the ref in the final stunk. We flushed him though, and won!! (5-4 score)

Walking here is always a nice time. A rich source of history with beautiful tall grass prairie. The bridges are also beautiful. There are multiple historical Wells on the property. The santa get train went through here as well as the Donnor-Reed party, which is pretty interesting. Back in the day this park had a single elm tree, and tall grass as far as you could see. I imagine it was so amazing and kind of lonely.

We go to this park to watch Special Olympic soccer. It has lots of nice fields. This year it has a brand new building with bathrooms. God bless.
