Epic! The staff is friendly, especially Mr. Strain, the band teacher. The food may not be the best, but considering that the cooking staff is understaffed it makes since. The Blue Valley School District is one of the best school districts in Kansas. BVMS has some of the highest student athlete rate.

Blue Valley Middle School is great for fairly normal kids. Unfortunately, my little sister is not normal. You might think this entire review is a lie. I've been accused of lying about this before because what the school did to my sister is against the law, and schools NEVER do anything illegal (sarcasm). But this is completely true. Even if most people don't believe me, I want to get this out there to protect other kids from going through what my sister went through. When my sister was attending Prairie Star Elementary School (yeah, I know, different school, but this is important background information), the school psychologist intentionally misdiagnosed her with pervasive developmental disorder NOS because that got them grants. I don't really know much about what went on when my sister was in elementary school. I went to Blue River Elementary School. My sister had to go to Prairie Star instead because they had a much better resource room. The only reason my sister needed the resource room was because being abused by our mom caused major behavioral problems. By the time she was in seventh grade, which was the year she was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, she no longer needed it, but they tried to keep her in it anyway. One time the resource room teacher, Mr. Turner, sent my dad an email about something my sister had done, but he worded it in a way that made it sound like she'd done something horrible. After my dad got the email, he yelled at my sister about it at the dinner table and my sister was crying and desperately trying to explain what had really happened. My dad reread the email and realized that my sister was telling the truth. After that, my dad pulled her out of the resource room, but they kept making her go back there whenever she did the slightest thing wrong. When she was in eighth grade, the choir teacher, Mr. Smith, went insane or something. (He was pretty awful to me once, too. One of the kids in my choir class was sexually harassing me and he accused me of lying.) There was this girl in choir who was always really mean to my sister. One time the mean girl cornered my sister and my sister had to hit her in self-defense. My sister got in trouble and the mean girl got candy. She was constantly being sent to the principal's office by that teacher. One day he sent her to the office the moment she walked into the classroom. The principal asked my sister what she did and my sister said nothing. The principal didn't believe her, so she called Mr. Smith and he admitted that my sister hadn't done anything. My sister was pulled out of choir so she wouldn't have to deal with that psycho teacher. Eventually my dad pulled her out of that school and she had to be home schooled for the rest of the year. Then the school went and reported my dad for not sending my sister to school when they were the reason my sister had to be pulled out in the first place! There were probably also a whole bunch of other things I don't know about or that I've forgotten. My sister's experiences at BVMS and BVHS have contributed to her having depression and social anxiety disorder. She might never be able to have a normal life. This story will be continued in a review of Blue Valley High School.
Oh, one more thing. The Guided Discovery (gifted program) teacher, Mrs. Sullivan, told my dad that I have Asperger's (which I don't) and that I would be a total failure in high school. (I wasn't doing my schoolwork because I had severe depression that went untreated for five years and I was usually too depressed to do much.) She got in trouble and the principal made her write an apology letter, but she and all the other horrible teachers I've mentioned still work there.
