Garvey Park

This is one of the best trails in town for a short hike. We love the path that lies under the I135 and parallel to the Arkansas River. Most of the time you could walk on the sandy shores.

Lots of room to explore a great place to fly a kite.

If you go here, then Try and go with someone who's been before or know their way around. There's some cool trails that are "off trail" that are quite rich in the nature of the trail. Very hard to explain but very fun to experience, not the typical park. Try it out. (try to go in the daytime there are territorial individuals that reside in the park mostly at night that are good folks, but they will defend their camp)

I ride on the bike pass quite often. And it goes right through Garvey Park. When I am writing I always stop there to rest for a second and to get a drink. I have never seen it dirty. And for the most part it has been quite peaceful.

Nice place with the shelter and trails extend north and south from there. Also, homeless hang out

The park is right next to the river and has a kayak ramp, a community garden is Right next door as well. It has a nice playground, and restrooms that are available during the summer. With approximately four picnic tables. It is right next to the bike trails. Only worry... in late summer you have to worry about the sand burs in the grass.

It's a nice little park to stop and enjoy nature.

Very cute little park, can rent small plots for growing vegetables there too!
