Stopped on our way to KC from Colorado and so happy we did. Super clean, food was amazing, and service was friendly. Amongst our family we had burgers, alligator, sweet potatoe fries, mac and cheese. Everything was delicious. I told my husband i wish we had time to wait until we were hungry again just to start over. You have to try Mattie's sauce! The owner came to our table and gave us a little history. She was very friendly, humble, and a great chef! Will definitely stop again on our next trip.

Visited for the first time today with my wife. Wow, was this place good. It was hopping when we got there, but the service was very friendly and attentive. I had the chicken fried steak, which had a flavorful crispy coating and was tender enough to cut with a fork. Wife had the catfish which was just incredible. Servings are not what I would call huge, but they aren't skimpy either. Definitely a place that we will be back to especially with our kids.

Cozy restaurant, great atmosphere. The owner, Mattie, makes sure to keep a smile on your face while you are there. I had the grilled shrimp, and it was some of the best I have ever had...it rivals the shrimp I have had in the Caribbean. Husband had the chicken fried steak, and it was also amazing. The breading on it was the best we have ever had. Amazing little place!!! We will definitely be back!!

staff was very welcoming and friendly. comfortable atmosphere. You're probably going for the food though and in that case, they don't disappoint. Everything we had was delicious. Favorites are the chopped steak with gravy, Catfish, and the blueberry bread pudding...oh my goodness.

The food, service and atmosphere was awesome. My husband had not eaten there before and he said the spicy chicken sandwich was the best he had ever had. He normally doesnt care for mushrooms but he ate almost the entire order by himself!!! Matties Grill and Chill is always consistent with great food and great service. Thank you.

At first glance of the menu it is a bit pricey but once you get your entree you understand why it is so. the food is cooked absolutely to Perfection seasoned well and you get a large portions. My husband had grilled alligator tail and I had to southern fried shrimp and they were just immaculate! We will be back thank you guys!

We had a burger, catfish, and chicken fried steak and all 3 were stellar. The wait at the table for the food wasn't long for as busy as they were. Prices were pretty good for the portion size also. We will be going back regularly. Also the new location is so easy to get to.

We stumbled across this little treasure when passing through and what a treat it was! Don’t be put off by the seemingly empty front of the building-drive around back and you’ll find a nicely decorated place with friendly staff. Mattie herself visited with us -she makes great sangria! We didn’t want our catfish fried and they were happy to grill it-everything was delicious. Nice bar too!

Absolute great. The food was wonderful (best corn I have had in years). The service was fine and the atmosphere was south-western. They recently moved into a different building that housed a Mexican restaurant previously.
We would definitely eat there the next time we are in Salina, Kansas.

I had fried catfish, wife had chicken fried steak. Both had spicy fried pickles & fried mushrooms. All Delicious!!! Alcoholic drinks were - Mai Tri & Matties Surprise!! Definitely worth dining in, or take out. At a affordable price! 👍

Not a disappointed person in our family. Chicken chips rocked. The mile high 🍟awesome. Chicken fried steak so tasty. Sliders that made smiles happen. Steak bites that brought peace to a hungry beast. All made from scratch. Good people. Great food. Family business. A menu that has something for everyone.

Thank you for another wonderful dining experience for our group Sassy Ladies Class of 1966. We all enjoy the food, it is amazing....and we love that there is room for all of us. An amazing little restaurant with foods cooked to perfection. You will not disappointed!!!

My husband and I drive semi and stop in Salina Kansas. Today we tried Mattie’s Grill & Chill. The food was fantastic my husband said that the Mac n cheese was some of the best he has ever tasted. An absolute great place must try.

Good food and good atmosphere! Elizabeth did a good job of waiting on six old retired guys and was very pleasant! We eat at Matties often and many time Mattie will come to the table to check on your food and thank you for your business.

What a wonderful little place. We started off with Chicken Chips. To die for... and then our meal was also exceptionally good. My husband drives so I get to taste alot of different foods in different places. Every town needs a place like this. Mattie, you are on point and I thank you for it!

My daughter and I have eaten at Matties twice. Our first visit we went for a late lunch a little before 2:00 and were lucky enough to have Mattie as our waitress. We were treated to exceptional service and some of the best home cooking anywhere. From the ranch dressing on the salad to the main dish to the sides that came with our meals, it was all fresh, good sized portions, and absolutely delicious. So far, I have tried the steak bites and the chicken fried steak; both among the best I've had. This is my favorite place to eat in Salina and among my favorites in any location. Great food, excellent service, and fair prices...you will not be disappointed!
