Barney's Deep Discount Drugs

I shop at Barney's for my essential oils to keep my family and home healthy. The staff there are very hospitable and willing to help you with whatever you need. I'm glad that we have a caring business in our community.

Every employee in this store / pharmacy are very polite and helpful! They go above and beyond!

I rarely write reviews but George, the pharmacist (and maybe owner?) is such a nice guy! He’s always treated our family and our pets VERY well. Our dog has had a life long immune mediated disease, and places like Walmart and Dillons wanted 10x what George charges us. He always has the cheapest prices for prescriptions and the store is neat to browse too. It reminds me of what an old fashioned drug store might of looked like back in the day.

Best Pharmacy I’ve ever used. Every time I go in, it’s always a pleasant experience. They’re super quick, but most of all, the staff is so kind, and helpful. From the drop off window, to the friendly gentleman at the register. The owner or manager (George, I believe),is super friendly too, and always goes above and beyond to help, if needed. I’ve used them for quite a while, and have never had anything but a great experience. Also, Barney’s Pharmacy is the only place I’ve thought it was worth taking the time to write a review. Thank you for your excellent customer service 🙂

I hadn't been to Barney's for about 2 years, because I moved to the Eastside. I had an emergency where I needed a child's nebulizer mask. I flew there because my son needs it. George had 1 left. I made it in time. Thank you Barney's and esp the pharmacy team/George. You're a truly caring pharmacy. I miss them. George, you're quite the man. You have a BIG heart. EVWRYONE DOES.
I had been going to the pharmacy since I was pregnant with my son. Actually, since before I got pregnant. I feel like, the pharmacy and I went through it together, because it took time, God, and medication to help me conceive. Two years later, I get to show them, my son. My miracle son.

The staff at Barneys are very helpful, many of them have worked there for greater than 10 years. The pharmacy staff are always friendly, they get to really know you, they are not a big chain where you are just a number.
They have unique finds, food and other specialty items.
Great overall experience.

I love shopping here..the staff is friendly and always ready to help. They have special ordered meats I've asked for before, they remeber you and usually know what you're there for. I love that! Also, George who runs the pharmacy is outstanding! He treats you like a person and not just a customer. When you go to the pharmacy again after being there before, he asks how the medicine worked and how you're feeling..I can't say enough about this business. They are great!

George the Pharmacist is what makes Barneys so amazing. He is the nicest, most caring and personable pharmacist you will ever meet. He knows each person by name and genuinely cares for all of his patients. Not to mention they actually pass on the discounts to the customer so meds are always cheaper. The staff in the pharmacy simply can not be beat amazing on every level!

This is this is better than a discount store because they've got a little of everything they've got some good bargains. They don't have everything a big store has like Walmart but close .The staff's friendly & quick. It's a real easy to run in and buy.last minute things you forgot. It's a well organized store .you can get t-shirts ,sweatshirts ,lotions all kinds of health things vitamins, nutrients they have a pharmacy there and a lot of handicap helps canes walkers special pillows is a good place to shop at good family store.

I use to work at Barney's only place I worked at that was good to their employees it was like working with family. I live in Newton now and remember how good the pharmacy is and called them to order something I couldn't find here.

Barney's employees, and George, the owner, are the kindest most caring people I have ever met. They are a hidden gem in our city.

Barney's is always clean. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. A great neighborhood store for quick needs, ie milk, eggs, pop etc.

We use this store for all kinds of stuff; we have used this pharmacy for probably 15+ years. They have groceries items that we have found to always be fresh. The cigarette prices are good. The people are always helpful and have good attitudes.

I go here for the pharmacy. The pharmacists are all so sweet and caring. They know my family and ask about my son. There have been times where my son’s insurance wasn’t able to cover his breathing treatment medication right away and they cut me a break on the price. Then when the insurance finally came through they called me back and offered to refund the money I paid. Just very caring people. I’ll choose them over a 24 hour pharmacy or a Walmart anytime!

Love everyone in the pharmacy--especially George. He is so generous and knowledgable. He always asks about family. Enjoy looking at all the stocked items. Great prices.

Barney's is a wonderful place to shop. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. I would much rather pay an extra .25 for toothpaste and know the clerk's are paid a living wage. I love shopping at a local business.

This is my pharmacy of choice--and I have a couple of regular scripts that insurance will not cover, so please believe I've shopped around. Service is reliably excellent, in my experience. The same people are always working, so they get to know you much better than in a large chain. George is terrific; consistently takes the time to check in about any questions you might have-- whether they're about medication issues or payment/insurance reimbursement issues--and everyone there is friendly, polite, helpful. Out of pocket prices are consistently much lower than at Walgreens or CVS, at least for my meds.

If you're looking for a Walmart alternative, look elsewhere: Barney's is a little local place; it's a drugstore, not a grocery or big-box retailer; and it stocks and staffs its store accordingly. What I appreciate about that is: it is very clear that its stock and layout have been intentionally designed in a way that is accessible to elderly, disabled, and chronically ill patients. The staples are all available. There's been clear thought given to what "extras" might be difficult to access, for someone on a fixed income or without a car, who can't drive to a specialty store across town. Barney's is not an attempt to meet every possible need: it's a (highly successful) approach to meeting the very specific needs of its particular community and customer base. It's pretty rare to find a business that really takes that seriously--but they do, and it simplifies my life; and I know it helps out a lot of their other customers.

(I don't know anything about shopping for cigarettes at Barney's, but my partner buys tobacco and rolling papers there, and seems generally happy with the service/prices.)

On this annual visit to Wichita, we finally made it to a great example of what makes a small business thrive in the shadows of corporate giants like Walmart and CVS. This locally owned, operated drug and small groceries store is a wonderful place to visit and be treated like a human again while shopping for well priced items. The high quality of items ranging from Vitamins, medical products to a gallon of milk are competitive priced and the wonderful customer service around every corner is missed in the big box retailers.
