I called Mido's yesterday and spoke with Zlatan. I told him that my father has tons of experience as a truck driver in Europe but has none here in the U.S. Zlatan very patiently explained that due to the company's insurance policy requirements they might not be able to hire father (a minimum of 2 years' verifiable CDL experience in the US is required). Nevertheless, he suggested that we go their the following morning to meet with him and the HR person in case something might be done.

We got there this morning around 9 am. A very clean facility, I might even say rather pretty both in- and outside. Zlatan was tied up for a few minutes so we sat in the waiting area. Several employees walked by. They were all very nice, with smiles on their faces, greeted us, asked whether we were being taken care of.
About 7-8 minutes later Zlatan and a lady sat down with us in one of their meeting rooms. They explained that unfortunately indeed due to insurance regulations they could not offer father a job. However, they both gave us suggestions where we might try, so much so that Zlatan even went to the shop to ask some of the guys there for a specific recommendation.

True, I myself have had very little experience dealing with trucking companies but I can definitely say that these people's "customer" service is on par with some of the nicest restaurants you might have visited. They owed us none of that. They could have simply said: "Sorry, he ain't got 2 years here in the US, can't hire him. Bye, bye!" Instead, they went into details why they could not hire him, gave us a load (I know, it's a pun) of suggestions where to go and what to do next, and I'm still getting over how NICE they were (genuinely nice!, not slick type of nice).

So, Zlatan and the lady (sorry, I didn't catch your name), thank you for your time and wishing you a lot of successes in your business.
