Unique and scenic area with breathtaking views. We had to park in the lower lot and hike up the 1/4 mile trail to the ruins, but its an easy grade hike on level asphalt path. The ruins itself are very impressive and pictures just don’t do it justice. Great place to bring a picnic lunch. Also, don’t miss the spring which is visible from the ruins. You’ll have to drive around to visit, but very worth it.

This place was so cool. We went thinking that it was gonna be some castle ruins, and it was, and they were great, but what they dont tell you about is the amazing view you have from the castle. There are also some nice hiking trails. You must go see this if you are in town. Highly recommend.

This place is pretty cool! Although you are not allowed to go inside of the castle ruins, it's still quite a site to see. There apparently appeared to be steps that go all the way around along with numerous other trails but we didn't get to trek that far. We had our pup and kitten with us. And it was their first adventure out and about. They did great and it was a sight to see as it overlooked the lake.

Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Missouri is a natural gem, with views of the Lake of the Ozarks and a unique window into Missouri’s geological and cultural history. Its diverse landscapes, from sheer bluffs to serene springs, make it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts.

For an ideal trail experience, start with the Spring Trail to witness the park’s spring and its blue waters. Next, explore the Castle Trail to see the iconic ruins of a 20th-century castle, offering a blend of history and scenic vistas. The natural bridge is also worth visiting.

This is an incredible piece of preserved history. The view is amazing and well worth it. If your close or wanting a day hike too go check it out.

Awesome!!! Two Handicap parking spots close to the ruins, also some extra spots (~10) otherwise parking down the streets and walk up the hill, but easy. Fall colors were incredible!

If you like local history this place is full of history. The journey actually starts with the visitor center where they will tell you as much about the history of the castle as you want to know.
There are plenty of signs and descriptions as you make the hike to the castle.

Loved hiking and exploring the rugged outdoor area. Plenty of trails for accessing the different sites and for many photo options. Walking within the Castle Ruins is no longer allowed, and there is fencing and signage stating such. However, there are still awesome views and photo opportunities throughout the area.

My mother lives in central Missouri and my wife has always talked about revisiting Ha Ha Tonka after having visited it once a few decades ago. We recently made the time to visit the park and castle ruins.
We didn't have much time to hike any of the numerous trails, but did portions of a couple of them. The path from the parking lot nearest the castle is paved, and some trails have a boardwalk, other trails are rough terrain and there is significant elevation change on many of them.

Amazing place to visit. Be prepared to walk uphill. It is definitely worth the hike to see the mansion, the carriage house, and the water tower.

The ruins were neat and the trails were fun! They weren't marked well but we managed. The restroom didn't have running water, just a heads up!

They have the ruins fenced off now, but still beautiful views and great hiking trails.

Located in the Ozark this European Castle by Robert McClure Snyder is an awesome state park. Be aware there is some hiking required. The castle is 521 feet at a 5% grade from the handicap parking. It is a cool place for the entire family if in the area. There are some great lookouts and good story boards.

Great hiking experience! Beautiful park with tons to see and do. You can't explore any of the ruins, I'm assuming because inconsiderate jack wagons ruined it for respectful people...but you do get to see them up close. Stunning views abound. Take your bug spray!

Great place. Just outside Camdenton. Steep hills and curvy roads give way to beautiful views. The castle sits on a bluff over a spring that drains into the Lake of the Ozarks. There is an upper and lower parking lot to visit the castle. Lower parking required walking up a paved trail to the castle ruins. The upper parking is near the elevation of the ruins and would require significantly less walking. I went in late October and the views were spectacular. There are trails to the side is your want to explore more in the forests. The carriage house and castle ruins are close by and don't take much time to visit. We went to the next parking area and took the spring trail to the grist mill, then across the island to the rapids exiting the spring. So clear and beautiful. The hike was short but rugged and steep. While I did not use the facilities, my friend did and said they were beyond horrible. We spent about two hours exploring at a fast pace. I think four hours would be better and allow for some time to enjoy nature and have a picnic.

There is parking right next to the water tower, castle, & carriage house so each one is only a few minutes walk. Despite the fencing around the castle, you’re still able to get close enough to get some good photos. Truly fascinating to read the history about this place. It would have been close to the same level as the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC judging by the few photos they had of the interior. So if you’re in the Ozarks, it’s definitely worth the trip. It’s free and breathtaking. We absolutely loved it!

There’s a couple different hiking trails that are located around the castle or you can drive up to the next road to see the smaller scale natural bridge. It’s actually a lot bigger once you get down to the bottom, but not as impressive as some of the others I’ve seen. Still worth it to stop by and take a look. There’s a parking lot right next to the path. Walk a few mins and you’ll be able to walk underneath it.

Beautiful. And there are hiking trails. You cannot explore the interior as there is a fence around the house asking to not cross. It is still beautiful.
