Chop's BBQ and Catering

Service was excellent and food was amazing. I got the 2 meat platter (I selected sausage and brisket for my choices) and the sausage was phenomenal and the brisket was a little tough and on the dry side but with the bole sauce they have on the tables it was amazing!! The beans has great flavor and the slaw was different but super flavorful and one of my favorites slaws I have had. The facility is very clean and bright. I highly recommend it! My wife and I will be going back!

Small business in Smithville that does an excellent job with BBQ.
I ordered the burnt ends, ribs, cheesy corn, and cheesy potatoes.
The burnt ends were the highlight followed by the ribs.
Potatoes were good.
Cheesy corn was honestly pretty underwhelming. It was mostly regular corn with a little cheese that didn't stick to the corn well.
Overall, highly recommend checking them out and supporting a local business.

Great BBQ for a small town. As soon as we walked in a girl smiled and said hello and told us we could sit wherever. That was really nice. We had the 2 meat platter with brisket and pulled pork. Brisket was pretty tough and dry BUT with the amazing 3 choice BBQ sauce on the table it was fine! Cheesy corn is 🔥! We would come here just to eat the fries! They are so fresh and crispy! Service was wonderful too. Waitress was really nice!!!

Small town atmosphere. Ordered the two meat sandwich with brisket and turkey with a side of baked beans. Decided to go with the bold sauce. Service was good.

We took my niece and her boyfriend out for lunch today, and she requested Chops! We have never been disappointed, and today was no different. We had the special Mac & Cheese pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. The meat was all smoked to perfection, tender and SO yummy! Sweet potato fries were sweet, salty and crunchy! Service was perfection! Thanks, Dan and Sarah for this great spot for a quick celebratory Sunday lunch!

Chop's has excellent pork ribs and fried okra. You go away full. It was so good on my first visit, I violated my one visit rule to come back again.

The BIG negative is that they charge three percent on the total bill for the use of a credit card!

I came into town to visit and was taken to this awesome BBQ place! The town is great but that's another story. It's a small place with great BBQ and sides. I had the brisket with mac and cheese and tator tots. Three of us got food and everyone loved what they ate. The owner and employees were great too. They are all very nice! Thank you!

Best BBQ ribs we've had in a long time. The food came out quickly. Our server was very friendly and came to check on us several times. They were very kind to give my husband, who is a veteran, the military discount.

My in-laws (from Texas) dragged me here with the promise of "the best barbecue they'd ever had". That's a lot of hype to put on a small restaurant but after getting a large platter it definitely lived up to the hype! The staff was so kind and courteous, I have a toddler and she made an absolute mess and they were so sweet telling us not to worry about it and "that's what they were there for".

My husband raved about this place for a week until we went back. We will definitely be making MANY trips out to Smithville for some more of this barbecue.

Awesome food and great service! Loved the sausage. Turkey was very most. Cheesy corn, and beans were excellent. I loved the seasoning on the fries. Hubby said the pulled pork was very good! Will return for sure!! (Ps. We had already started eating before I took the picture)

Chops never fails when we go out to eat! We had their homemade broccoli cheddar soup, and split a bbq pulled pork sandwich. Both were scrumptious and highly recommend the bbq pulled pork and broccoli cheddar soup. Service is always amazing and staff are kind and helpful as well. Thank you chops bbq!

We spent the day in Smithville and ended with stopping in at Chop's. It was the perfect way to end the day. The meat was super juicy and sides cooked perfectly. My favorite sides were the cheesy corn and tater tots. Staff was friendly and the location was perfect for exploring the downtown district.

Ordered the Haagenslaw, absolutely over the top!!! Will not be disappointed, came with a couple pickled onions that were spectacular! Fried Okra was fantastic, please don’t ruin them with ranch (why would you do that ewww, not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I like mine sweet and theirs is just right with full tea taste and a lil sweet. For the coleslaw connoisseur theirs is phenomenal, fresh and with a little special house seasoning added. Don’t pass them up. The service is 5 star, Delaney was my server and embraces hospitality and customer service.

Definitely worth the stop. We were driving back from Omaha to Kansas City airport and made a stop at Chops. This was very tasty pulled pork. Good smoke flavor. Nicely seasoned fries. I had the corn as a side and that was good too. My wife had the pulled pork with the cole slaw and she enjoyed that. Her bbq beans were enjoyed also. Worth a stop.

We get all our holiday meats from Chops every year and they are the BEST!! We get food from them almost weekly and so if you haven’t been there yet, GO!!! You will NOT be disappointed!! 😋

Went there to find out they couldn't take debit or credit cards cause their machine was down for the time, so I was in the process of downloading venmo to pay. But not before one of the workers named Jeff took out some cash and told me not to worry about it, I gave them all of the cash I had on me to try and help. Great people, and good food.
