The Catfish Cafe

Came in not expecting much found a great selection of food and went with a classic country fried steak. Boy was I NOT disappointed this place is great, the food was hot and served fast and delicious the waiter was kind and refilled my drink before I had to ask. Will be back again.

I ate here for lunch on Valentine’s Day with my Grandma and cousin. We all liked the food. It looked clean inside. It’s smaller, but it’s in Buffalo, MO. Lots of menu options. They had a kids menu for my 2 year old daughter. I definitely will go back when I go through Buffalo again.

What a treasure hidden in Buffalo, MO. Worth taking the road less traveled to enjoy this local cuisine. Food was heavenly, reasonably priced. Waitress was exceptionally friendly, and cooks and kitchen staff served food quickly even though it was busy. Even the local folks we're friendly. We felt so welcome. Highly recommend this place and hope to visit again.

Fantastic catfish and excellent service! I got the spicy catfish…not too spicy and cooked to perfection. Enjoyed lunch with friends and got my first follower today! Was able to snap a photo of him enjoying the fine cuisine.

Great simple cafe. The catfish melted tastily on my taste buds. My wife had the 3 pc and I had the 5 pc, we both had same two side dishes. The cole slaw was unique and wonderful. The fries were golden brown and delicious.

stopped in on the way home from Springfield and the guy at the adjacent gas station said to try the spicy catfish. I'm glad he did; this was delicious!! the fries and fish were super good and really filling!! would recommend and will definitely be coming back.
UPDATE: I'm on my 4th visit and the meals are still never less than fantastic. a must visit for those traversing the MO highways!!

Emily was our waitress and she was fantastic! I have 4 kids, she was patient and playful with the kids. Very helpful with the menu, and helpful. The food was excellent and inexpensive. Would definitely recommend this place.

This little restaurant was a great find! The service was outstanding and the food was over the top! I encourage everyone to give this local owned restaurant a try! You won’t be sorry! I had the loaded baked potato! Soooooo yummy!

My wife and I were on a weekend get away in our motorhome visiting Buffalo. We heard about this restaurant and made a point to stop and try it. Since we were in a motorhome we decided to order take out and then just eat in the motorhome. We ordered coconut shrimp dinner with hush puppies and side salad, also the blackened chicken and shrimp dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. Plus garlic toast. 3 points that were very impressive.
1. 15 minutes and our food was cooked to order and was delicious! And was take out.
2. We thought for shrimp dinners the cost was very reasonable!
3. Super friendly people and clean looking place!

Don't hesitate eating here. Shop and do business with local establishments, and its not fast food!

Catfish meal was delicious. Nice filets and breading, fresh fries, and good coleslaw. The hushpuppies were some of the best. Nugget ice for drinks for the win!

We always bring my mother-in-law down here from Wheatland Missouri. They have the best catfish and chicken strips I’ve ever had .. And the prices are unbelievable.. I’ve been a server since I was 16 years old. I am now 60.. and I’m telling you this little café is a great place to eat. And the owner gave my mother-in-law, a free piece of pie for her birthday.

UPDATE : WE VISITED AGAIN ON 11/5/23 . THE OWNER WITHIN 2 HOURS OF THIS REVIEW HAD MESSAGED AND MADE IT RIGHT. HE INVITED US BACK. AND THIS TIME OUR WAITRESS WAS EXCEPTIONAL. SHE MADE OUR EXPERIENCE WARM AND FRIENDLY AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT AS WELL. WE SURE DO APPRECIATE THE KINDNESS AND THE EFFORT THAT WAS MADE. WE WILL GO BACK AND EAT THERE AGAIN. YES THE OTHER WAITRESS WAS THERE. IM GLAD SHE DIDNT LOSE HER JOB. I JUST HOPE SHE GOT THE RETRAINING THAT SHE NEEDS AND I THINK SHE WILL BE AN AWESOME WAITRESS.

The food was good . But our waitress was horribly rude. If you said ty she gave a dirty look and when my husband stood up to pay she snatched the card and bill out of his hand . I asked for a to go cup she brought it back and set it down I said thank you again and she gave me a hateful look.
When she brought my husband his meal the onion ring was burnt. And she asked if he wanted another 1 he said yes please.
With service like this I will not eat there again . Sorry to the owners.

Decided to try the Catfish Cafe for the first time because I saw someone wearing a catfish cafe shirt at the grocery store while I was shopping. Very cute little restaurant. They have the best and freshest catfish I’ve ever had and probably the best mozzarella sticks in town. The chicken was good, the hush puppies were a little spicy for my liking but if you like a little kick then you’ll enjoy those. Our server Cynthia was so kind and attentive. Very excited to go back and try their burgers next.

Love it here!! Always great service! Never a wait any time that I've came. Food is amazing and workers are so nice!! I highly recommend you coming here if you are driving through Buffalo and want to stop to eat!!

Quick friendly service! Hot freshly cooked catfish and fries! Coleslaw more watery than creamy…overall very satisfied.

Everything we had was great. Had the catfish with mashed potatoes and fries. Also ordered some mushrooms. It all was great. We were just passing through town and wanted different besides fast-food. Good choice and waitress was very friendly and I didn't have to ask for a refill. She brought out a cup of soda before I finished my first. The seating area was big for a small town Cafe. Ample seating. Will be back to try different foods. Thanks. PS very clean.

Waitresses were very nice young ladies that's a plus before we even ate. The food came fast and hot .Fish fried right. Them bake beans and Cole slaw was how I like it, Okra perfect crunch. I was just traveling through. Thanks for good service and food.
