Lewis Cafe

Recently heard of new changes at Lewis Cafe and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! The quality of food & the service was great but the Chicken & Waffles really won the show! They are AMAZING!

The owner came out to check on us and asked if the orders were of our liking and asked if there was anything we would change about the new menu item. They are so YUMMY, I wouldn't change a thing!

Who could ask for anything more than a waffle smothered in tons of chicken, bacon and sauce. I asked for butter and syrup and didn't need them at all!!!

What a GREAT find. We stopped here for breakfast while driving down I 44. Food was excellent but the staff were the Stars!! Eveyone was super friendly and attentive. We had a great time thank you!!

The service was awesome and the food was amazing good little hole in the wall place that is a well worth drive and good place to get real home cooked food all the breakfast meat is from local and the coffee is fresh and my god its rewarding to eat at a place that knows food and how to do it right

If you want to sit down, eat great food and fantastic service this is the go to place! Had a wonderful breakfast with the best ☕. My omelette was very very good and it was huge. Had to take half of it home.

What a charming little everyday cafe straight out of Mayberry. It reminds my of visiting my grandma's small town as a child. The food was great, as was the service. The PIE was to die for. I wouldn't change a thing.

Great food and very friendly employees. The pie is the best in the area and the prices are very reasonable.

The Lewis café is absolutely outstanding. This is the place that you must not miss. I have been driving back-and-forth from California to Boston since 2010 and every single time I drive by St. Clair Missouri, I always stop in to make sure I go to the Lewis café to eat. You have to go in just a little ways from the interstate. This time I had their rib eye steak medium rare. The steak came with a salad, a cup of soup, fries and Garlic toast. $19.95 for all of this?? Good luck in finding another restaurant that will be willing to give you all of that for that kind of a price. Everything was absolutely delicious.

Let me start off by saying that the Lewis café owners have their own farm! This is where my steak came from. All IN HOUSE meat. It was cooked to perfection and it was absolutely fresh. The fries were just unbelievable. I am honestly not a person that particularly orders fries in general, but I do have to say these fries were unbelievably addictive. Omg! The coating on the fries...*** sigh****The salad and a cup of soup are absolutely a welcomed addition...their yummy pies are JUST AWESOME.

I strongly recommend this place to locals and those who are driving across the country to make a point to stop at this place. YOU WILL BE MISSING OUT if you do not give this place a try. This is the perfect old diner that you would find in the 50s in the 60s..

I had breakfast and the whole hog sausage was like something from my childhood growing up on the farm! Delicious! The young men working there were friendly and worked together in a efficient way keeping things running timely and smoothly even though it was very busy. Our entire dining experience took well under an hour. I highly recommend this to everyone!

Great little restaurant cafe in downtown St Clair and its been there forever and a day. Really good breakfast menu and hint hint try the biscuits and gravy with sausage.

We thought they opened at 6 but they opened at 7. We looked in the door and they said "not opened " We were very disappointed....and before we could get the car started, the came out and waved us in and got everything fired up just for us. Served us an incredible breakfast with the absolute best hospitality and service.

Thanks guys, you made customers for life today!

First, the Service was excellent, always kept my coffee and water full. Farm fresh eggs, delicious bacon!! As you can tell, I ate it all!! Made from scratch biscuits and milk gravy hit the spot and a little French toast to complete the meal. I didn't have the burgers, but it's all local beef. They did it right at Lewis Cafe.

Stopped for lunch and everyone enjoyed every bite! We ordered the biscuits and gravy, Lewis breakfast sandwich, Reubens sandwich, chili, fries, fried pickles and fried mushrooms. All perfection! Our server was very attentive, friendly and even fixed up waters to go for all of us. Would highly recommend!!

Went on a busy mother's day morning. Super good service staff, fast kitchen, and crazy good prices.

Some food was sub-par, some was awesome. I got an omelet and the ingredients were definitely all leftovers. The other people in my group got other stuff that was all really good.

Tried this place on a whim today and I'm glad I did! Great food and service! I thought it was funny to go there because my boys' last name is Lewis!

Perfect old fashioned diner in a little town just off route 66. Great for breakfast or lunch

This is a must stop on any Route 66 trip. A true cafe with a lot of history. The biscuits are excellent.

Ordered on the road for pickup. Offered a coffee as I showed up early. The aroma from the kitchen was wonderful, the menu simple yet great. Great portions! My girlfriend who is partial to her pie crust stated theirs was excellent!

Great family Cafe, excellent food, friendly waitress, very clean we love lewis Cafe our favorite place!

A great 85-year-old cafe with friendly service. The sausage gravy and biscuits are yummy! A definite must stop when you are traveling on Route 66!
