The large tent camping site is busy but you have a lot of space between campsites. Restrooms and water spigot were close by and clean. We walked two of the shorter trails with our kids (less than a mile each) and they were perfect. People were respectful of each other, it was easy to get to the park and campsite, and the check-in process was easy. Would definitely camp here again!

This place is Awesome!!! Family friendly. River access and lots of hiking trails. You can link onto to different trails. My favorite was Bluff View.

The campground was large and well cared for. It was super hot so the only thing we did was Fisher Cave. The cave is fantastic. Highly recommend.

We had the best time at Meramec state park. Great hiking, the water was beautiful, and the caves were very cool.

Had a great time here! Went on a float trip. Definitely will be back to explore the caves. There is a lot todo here! Caverns, rope course, trails, and the river. The camp sites are nice! The only downside is the limited number of bathrooms around. But few extra steps and it's fine. The showers were well maintained and very warm (first thing in the morning)

Been here a few times. There are so many lovely ways to get lost. I found it breathtaking. The park is well manicured and the restrooms are surprisingly spotless. I would 100 percent say this park is worth a visit. I really love the trails…..and the best part is that there are caves, I have no idea why caves are scary and intriguing but they are!

This is a lovely State Park with nice, clearly blazed walking trails. The bigger cave is closed for the season and most of the smaller ones are closed due to wns but it's fun to see the outside of them. Even though it's winter, there are still many beautiful sights to see. From Pine Forests to ferns peeking out below a blanket of leaves, there's something everywhere you look.

Beautiful and simple. Float the river, fish for trout or take a tour through Fisher Cave. The cabins we're nice and the entire park was very clean. We went on weekday during the summer and we didn't have big crowds; it felt very private.

When you 1st pull in you'll find a vistors center on you right. One of the nicest state parks so far. We are already planning our stay for next year. We camped for 3 nights with family hoping to have more join us. Our site had plenty of room a picnic table & fire ring. Everything was within walking distance, the boat launch, the beach & the Meramac river, the restrooms/shower house. The park is not far from highway 44 & Wal-Mart, but seems like a million miles once you are there. Many activities on the river, swimming, floating, fishing, and boating( water safety is a must on the Meramac)
Playground for the kids and caves & hiking for the big kids. A very relaxing atmosphere. There were a lot of electric only sites. I believe the electric sites had both 30 & 50 amp. service with 110.
There was a dump station & water. The camp store had all the important things, ice, drinks, snacks! I believe there was a Cafe within the store along with a place to get ice cream. There was an outdoor seating area that out looked the lodge buildings.
Enjoy!!

We went hiking on the River Bluff trail. It was a pleasant walk and took us a little over an hour. After walking it I think we made the right choice by going in a clockwise direction. The climb back up to the parking lot would have been a lot harder going the other way.

The next day we floated on the river with a canoe. We went on a Wednesday and it wasn't crowded.

The bus driver was very friendly and helpful when we put into the river. The pickup point was where we parked and we had all day to get back. There was no pressure for time since once we got to the exit point we were able to just get in our car and leave.

Great place to visit.

Had a wonderful time here. They have back in spots mostly so be prepared to back up. No water at the RV spots but there are many places to fill up before you park. It's a very long drive from the entrance of the park to the campground but it was beautiful. 9/10 would definitely recommend. It gets really busy on the weekends so if you want quiet go during the week

We loved staying in the cabins and exploring the park! We canoed down the river one day. It was wonderful! Only 5 miles, with one raft and 2 kayaks. Caves are mostly closed to protect the native bats. Close beach access. The kids played for hours in the water! They caught some crawdads and found tadpoles too!

We had an amazing time. The folks at Fireside store and grill were awesome. We walked the Bluff Trail by the visitors center. I suggest doing it clockwise because if not the back side is a pretty steep uphill climb.

Beautiful natural scenery! Great place to camp, have a pick nick, a hike or walk about! Park people, volunteers and rangers have always been happy to help campers. Right on the Meramec river shores, the park has a variate of options for camping, full hookup sites, and primitive camping. There are hiking trails, trees, bugs, caves, creeks, an auditorium, roaming creatures and wild life sounds. The shower building and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Come and enjoy it! Clean after yourself and your party. NO GLASS allowed at the river and shores. Be responsible, respectful and smile. BE NICE. The ghost in the park will hunt you down if you get naughty. Woof woof.

We absolutely love this park. We have busted since we were kids and now bring our family here. Whether it's a day trip, a camping trip or a float trip...this is our go to spot .it's always clean and peaceful. My only complaint is all the walnut trees in the front 2 circles...the walnuts fall...and are very heavy (damagingly heavy).
But we highly recommend!!

Rented a two bedroom cabin, then a 1 bedroom a couple weeks after.
Both good value and nice stay, beds are pretty stiff..
1 bedroom was more rustic and secluded

My fiancé and I went on a week long camping trip and just returned back home today. This camp site is very clean, very beautiful, and has a lot of space weather you are tent camping(us)with electric or not, rv/camper, or primitive. Do not get discouraged when you pass the visitor center fairly quick but need to drive a few miles to find the campground. Just keep driving. There is access to the river, but need to climb down hills to get to it, there is no easy access to the river due to flooding we were told. Other then that, bathroom/shower houses are as clean as you can get. Will definitely return soon!

During winter months, you must fill your water tank at the entrance of the campground or near dump station. Make sure to check the website for water location. Meramac is close to a lot of amenities. It has a nice campground.

Awesome state park that is only like 45ish minutes from STL. Tons of amenities and didn't strike me as overly crowded considering it's proximity to the suburbs. There are camp grounds, cabins for rent, and small shops all within this deceiving large park. Plenty of spots to spread out if you want some seclusion. Also has floating options.

Several trials, a cave complex, observation overlooks, and pavilions to enjoy. Not sure if this place gets wild during the peak floating season, which could make the clientele a little annoying.

Highly recommend for a day trip or an weekend getaway.
