The food was phenomenal! Lots of house made sauces. They have their own signature appetizer armadillo eggs. So, so good! Avocado was fresh. Just a really great place to eat.

Some friends and I just had lunch here. The food was delicious, there was five of us so we all had something different. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal, everything is fresh, cooked to order.The service was excellent very accommodating.Place was very clean and enjoyed seeing the different rooms that are available. We will be back to visit soon.

We just had supper here. Great steak. Onion rings were a little overcooked but still good. Great service. Waitress was on drink refills, we never had an empty soda glass.

Upon arriving, I didn't know what to expect. We came there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first time there. The building looked like a house from a past era. The tables were decorated very nicely. Our server was very nice and attentive. The steak we had melted in our mouths, the salad was very delicious. The desserts were to die for. We drove an hour and half to get there, and we will definitely be back.

I have eaten here on a few occasions and it never disappoints. Steaks are always amazing and the house butter added on top is so good.. I will keep coming back when ever I can..

We had dinner which was excellent, our server was very sweet and made sure we were taken care of. We also stayed the night and the Champagne room was wonderful. It was very peaceful and the bed was super comfy. Everything was clean and it didn't have that hotel room feel. Had breakfast the next morning which was also very good and complimentary! Highly recommend it for a nice little get away.

We had an amazing late lunch. Pan seared crab cakes and the best sandwiches ever. The service was a bit slow. The food was phenomenal and worth the wait. We'll be going back. Our glasses we never empty. Some people will know that this means alot

Great historic restaurant. I have mostly had breakfast when I am there. It is a great place to meet with friend and have a great breakfast.

Have had the steak sandwich without cheese, the bone in ribeye, and baked potatoes. So far, everything has been wonderful. Their baked potatoes are perfect, not left over, brown, and hard like most places. Both the steak sandwich and ribeye were very tender and flavorful. I have no idea why it has taken us so long to try it. We are very picky when it comes to food, but we will definitely be going back to Russell House

We had a sudden loss in the family. We are in NY I was desperate to send my family some comfort and searched all over MO. Russell House went over and beyond to help me out. The family was very happy with the selection, quality, and quantities. They did this at last minute with reasonable rates. If you haven't had their breakfast your missing out. Steak and eggs is cooked to perfection and doesn't break the bank.

Visited on business. The owner Doug is a true host who even forgave my in bed coffee accident.

The food is first class and he has an excellent micro-brew selection. The staff are friendly and the rooms are well appointed with fountain type showers. I will be returning here!

1st off thank you for being opened Thanksgiving! My small family and I went here for Thanksgiving this past year and the food was amazing! The atmosphere, no big family drama and no clean up on Thanksgiving, yes please!

I have never had a bad meal at The Russell House! My favorite meal is the Brewhouse burger with sweet potato fries. They have the best sweet potato fries! They are such a great place in Hillsboro and I highly recommend them!

This was our first time eating here and we loved it.

I had the Sunday special which was fried chicken (basically chicken fried chicken) with white gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. The entire meal was delicious, especially the gravy. Their gravy is hands down the best gravy I've ever had from a restaurant. It was very rich and creamy and tasted like it was made with heavy cream. It definitely had a homemade taste and not that artificial bag mix flavor. The portions were large and very reasonably priced.

My husband had chicken wings and salad.
I didn't try them but he said both were very good. We will definitely be back!

OK we all know what Covid has done to the restaurant business. Not enough employees That are willing to work, so we had more time to socialize. This of course was helped with the wine that we ordered lol. Samuel waited on our table could not have been more attentive if he tried. The food was amazing every part of it. He did talk me into taking home a piece of chocolate cake which was so rich it took me two times to eat it. So happy with the entire establishment. This is someplace you really need to go to. Make sure you order the armadillo eggs for an appetizer. Order more than you think you’ll want because they’re tasty. Also the onion rings are unbelievable. Along with all the other food

WoW, Just WOW! First, I would like to say that our waitress Jordan, did an amazing job! We visited on Sunday Evening and Jordan was the only waitress for the whole place. Despite this, she was very attentive to all of the tables, the food was excellent, served hot, fresh and fast. We ordered a French Dip sandwich (one of the best that I had in a long time) and my soul mate ordered a salad and a cup of tuscan chicken noodle soup. Everythiing was very good, hightly recommend giving them a try. It did initially seem a bit on the pricey side, but I don't mind paying for high qulaity food and great service!

This place is a gem. The food and service was excellent. Very friendly staff and food was great... First time there but I am really looking forward to going back again.
