Best Chinese food we've had so far in STL! A little pricey compared to the other spots BUT worth it bc it is so tasty!

Orange chicken
Salt and pepper tofu
Walnut prawn
Green beans in garlic sauce

So good!
Can't wait to go back to try again

Royal Chinese BBQ has amazing Cantonese food. Tried this restaurant based off of reviews and was not disappointed. They offer great portions for the price you pay. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

Tip: If you know you know Royal Chinese BBQ is open on Thanksgiving.

Truly some of the best Chinese food we've had outside of SoCal. The Peking Duck although pricey, is well worth it. If you've never had duck prepared like this, you may never go back to eating it the traditional way.
The restaurant is very clean, the restrooms are large and the service is decent. When the two college sons are there, English is not a problem.
Be prepared to wait for your food, this is not an American restaurant, the dishes come out ONE AT A TIME, so pace yourselves or share w/ a buddy.
I have posted some of my favorite dishes, it's a good meal and interesting to watch the cooks get all the food together.
Parking can be difficult but there is parking in the back. Enjoy!

I’ve been going here for 10+ years and I consider it a staple Chinese restaurant. They season, cook and treat me with such kindness. The only problem we have is we cannot order just one dish!
Recommendations :
Salt and pepper tofu, honey roasted bbq pork and sizzling beef.

The only bad thing I can say about that place is the diet coke was flat. The scallops were fresh and full of flavor. The squid was the best i have ever had. The vegetables were tasty and the soups were large enough for 2 to share. Will definitely be back! My new favorite chinese place, even though it is a bit of a drive.

The food is amazing here! I wish it was closer to my house, because I would go a lot more! They have so many different varieties of dishes to choose from, especially for Vegetarians. The service is super friendly and quick! Price is reasonable as well.

Hot braised chicken was spicy & great!

Our experience was great. They had authentic food. The absolute best tofu I’ve ever had.

We go for the duck. They are pricier than others in area but when I brought it up to the owner, she was so cockey she said .. go ahead and try them... You will be back! She was so confident we stayed! And... She was right? Best roasted duck around!

Royal BBQ has a wide array of choices, delicious food and excellent service. Too pricey if I may say, one good meal could cost you $20 including tip. It used to be reasonable years back, now it's just too expensive (just me).

We just had chicken fried rice and vegetable fried rice for lunch but it was the best I've found in the area. A little more expensive but well worth it. They also have a wonderful dine in menu. We're definitely going back to dine in.

The simple answer to the variance in reviews is the variance in taste. I have been going to this restaurant for over 23 years...since it was a small operation and I was a student in St. Louis. EVERYTIME I go to St. Louis (at least twice a year) I go there for lunch or dinner. I have traveled the world,..been all over Asia, eaten a lot of Asian food, and this is tasty, consistent, authentic. The BBQ Pork is as authentic as Hong Kong. The general menu is wide, varied, and the prices, slightly higher than the norm but not ridiculous. As for service, objectively speaking, it is fine because I know management. It may be a fair criticism...and management may need to step that up...but I would say, give the food another shot...order something different. This is an outstanding restaurant.

Whole duck is 🔥. Also ordered sliced lamb with scallions 🔥. First time there and they had decent customer service (not the attitude a person can sometimes experience🤷🏾‍♀). Give them a try

Very delicious Chinese cuisine and the hospitality is 2nd to none! Clean and refreshing atmosphere even the restrooms! The salt/ pepper fried seafood and the orange chicken was delicious!

I've been going to this place for years and it has only improved. This place is a winner in all areas, from the decor, (minimalist) which is soothing in contrast to the standard red & (I've assumed were at one time) white plastic table covers, and the abundant paper objects on the walls and paper lamp shades (I'm always aware of the nearest exit) that always make me wonder what kind of outfit would provide fire insurance to a place like this? Next is that RCBBQ is clean, you can see into the kitchen as you enter. Service is always pleasant and swift. The FOOD is AWESOME! It's fresh, and the flavors rival none. I've taken friends who are "foodies" & some who border on "food sob" it's always a hit and they become fans too.

We've been going here for 20+ years. The staff is like family and the food is phenmonenal. It's truly a hidden gem in the St. Louis area.

This is a Chinese Char-su or tea smoked BBQ place. The duck was excellent and so was the pork. The ambiance is very nice and the decor is lacquered wood.
