Great scenic area to visit. There is an old bridge you can walk across. There are restrooms in the parking lot. This place has a boat ramp and there are also three camping sites too. Not much privacy is provided between the campsites. However the area itself is very private, it would just be you and the other two campsites. My suggestion if you are staying here... rent all three and have the place to yourself. Bonus....... There is a rope swing in to the river. It is to the left of the old bridge if traveling from the parking lot/ campsites. Don't miss this lovely slice of nature.

The water was Extremely high Due to the Much needed Rain We've had the past Week or so. Other then that though, if you've been you know, if you haven't been.
There's rope swings, a Bride you could jump off if waters high enough.
Rapids are fun to Sit in if youre a Dare devil. Haha. Joking

But multiple places to Relax and BBQ, Plenty of Picnic tables.
One beach that's easily accessible, Few that aren't too noticeable.
But not too hard to Find, just a little bit of Searching, and enjoyable Adventures.

No trash Cans, CLEAN YOUR OWN TRASH UP.
No glass bottles either, be considerate of your Fellow Thrill seekers.

Enjoy, and Drink responsible. Don't drink and drive, or text and drive

Love this place! It is beautiful! The water isn't too shallow. Its deep in spots. Be careful of the current. Beautiful rocks. Great place to go with your family, friends.

I grew up here. The stretch above the dam is calmer, but the closer you get to the dam the more swift the current can be. Please proceed with caution! Especially, with young children! The stretch beneath/after the dam is a heavy current and deep in certain spots. Watch for snakes in the brush down river (and on the other side of the river, basically in the tall grass/by rock/concrete walls). WONDERFUL FISHING before the bend above the dam and also a few bends after the dam. Decent boat ramp.

The park is nice, with lots of parking and picnic tables and campsites. The old bridge is really cool, and if you look you can see where the old road was going to the bridge. The old mill is across the river from what I could tell and has private property signs all over it. You can go down to where the dam was and look across and see the structure. Nice little spot.

We loved this rustic, little park nestled into the bend of the Big River. Although we weren't equipped to do this, we were told by another park goer that you can put a tube/raft in by the boat launch and lazily float around to the rapids, then get out walk back to the boat launch and repeat. There is also a great rope swing hanging under the old bridge -- but beware the water is not very deep, only drop in feet first. We found this park on a search to find an out of the way place to watch the 2017 Solar Eclipse and it was an amazing time!

I enjoyed this place very much. It was never busy like Rockford Beach would be. There's several places to enjoy spots in the water and shade!
