What a wonderful experience. My family and I have visited this place, around eighteen years ago and we recently visited again. If you haven’t heard of this person and his contributions to humanity, this would be a great learning area for adults and children. The building that houses the history behind this man has been updated and is very clean and full of historical information. There is also a large area on the grounds to walk. A trail leads to sites where he grew up. As a historian, I was impressed with the plethora of information here and the significance of his contributions to humanity.

I came to see the "talking" monument and was happily surprised to be able to enjoy the free museum too. I learned so much about George Washington Carver. He had a hand in lots of things we use today. Such a great mind. Definitely take some time so you can read and enjoy the various displays and walk around the beautiful grounds. It can easily take a half a day.

It was extremely interesting and had three floors of exhibits. There were a lot of child friendly hands-on exhibits as well. I was impressed that Carver came up with more than a hundred ways to use peanuts! He improved the lives of so many people.

It's great and you should stop if you have a chance but a little part of me was sad that you couldn't eat peanuts. I guess with all the allergies it makes sense but I was sort of hoping for a Texas Road House vibe. Hahaha.

Apparently I only took two pictures and they are the dumbest things I could have photographed.

For real, it is a good Monument. The ranger was very nice and there's a ton of history about Carver. And it's very pretty.

An absolute can’t-miss NPS site. There is so much to learn - and be appreciated- about George Washington Carver. The exhibits are phenomenal and the grounds are beautiful. Don’t miss the 3/4 mile walk through the woods - a birder’s paradise.

We stopped here on our route to Red Bird Smith. OK. We learned so much and the museum was fantastic! A must return is in order!

Such a wonderful place to visit 😊! My husband and I are already planning a trip back with the kids. I grew up in Tuskegee, AL and didn't know half of George Washington Carver story.

I went down there with my grandnephew. I took his mum and her siblings when they were just wee ones. It's just the best place to spend the day. Alone or with family and friends.

This place is really neat. The history and accomplishments of this man are intriguing, but his character was impeccable and makes this a story everyone should know. Walking trails, 3 story museum, nice clean facilities. Free. A must visit.

This was my absolute favorite field trip as a child. Now that my husband and I are living in the area again, I was so excited to show him this fascinating National Park. We brought our weighted rucks to get a workout on the trail before enjoying all of the displays and the wonderful film narrated by Sheryl Lee Ralph. The rangers on duty were friendly and helpful, the restrooms were clean, and everything is still beautifully maintained. Some of the exhibits weren't available but this is the off season (December) and there was still plenty to see. I can't wait to go back during each of the other three seasons to see the changing landscape and hopefully take the guided tour.

Very nice memorial center at the previous home of George Washington Carver. Carver was a Black Scientist and Inventor who created many things from peanuts and other crops. He found alternative crops for farmers and helped improve their soil quality. He became a Professor at the great HBCU Tuskegee Institute (now Tuskegee University). The center has much about his history including rooms like his lab and classroom at Tuskegee. There are also interactive sections for children. The property includes his former small home and the forests with a 3/4 mile trail he walked daily. A great history lesson.

Don’t expect to be wowed.
Do expect to be pleasantly impressed.
Having grown up in “peanut” country in the Deep South during the turbulent 60’s, even the most ardent racist couldn’t help but owe a debt of gratitude and grudging respect to this amazing man who helped revolutionize southern agriculture.
He was truly the epitome of perseverance and a servant living out his GOD’s grace.
Worth the visit!

GWC was a great American and a tremendous inspiration, overcoming tremendous obstacles to rise to the pinnacle of America success... interesting to note that the man whose name he took - Mr. Carver as well as his wife - took in an orphan born of slaves and encouraged him to get an education, taught him to knit and crochet, in a time and place when virulent racism was the rule, not the exception... fascinating life of service...

The mile or so walk was east and amazing. I’m a heftier person and the walk was easy with benches all along when I needed it. We went early and had it ourselves which was really great. The inside was fine. It the walk through the woods was my favorite. There’s kids area inside, gift shop. Bring water it’s hot out there as they say goes on.

June 5, 2017: What a beautiful monument to GWC. The grounds were stunning, walking through them was peaceful with all the trees. Just a wonderful place to stop and visit. Thank you.

Every American should take the opportunity to visit this historical site. It's triumph over tragedy. Success over sadness. Achievement from an American Black hero. I wish I could have personally met this amazing pioneer and scientist. We shall in Heaven.

Nice park. I just happened to see a sign for it while traveling elsewhere and decided to stop in and collect a National Park Passport stamp. I learned some from the exhibits, and they are kind friendly. Passport stamps were free, no admission charge, free accessible parking, and educational. No fee to enter.

Gem of a site in SW Missouri. The visitor center felt like half typical history museum, half children's science museum, which is very fitting for a monument to a person such as Carver. The loop trail is a lovely casual walk with good opportunities to spot some local wildlife.
