Brooke is a genius hair stylist and extension expert. Brooke has been doing my color and extensions for over 3 years. Before Brooke I was flying to LA to get my hair done because I couldn’t find anyone in the Portland area (I tried several different salons) that could match colors and apply Great Length hair extension properly. She is magical! She takes time to get to know exactly what you are looking for (colors, length, cut) while maintaining the integrity of your own hair. If you are particular (I have baby fine, thin hair) and want your hair to look full and amazing… Brooke is your girl! I would without a doubt highly recommend Brooke for color and extensions!! Not to mention she is personable, funny and caring.

I have been destroying my hair since I was 16 years old and have seen dozens of hair stylists. Brooke is the only color specialist that has taken the time and showed the patience to help me achieve my goals and make me feel beautiful. I started seeing her 7 years ago and I wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else. She listens and gives real advice, she is a true professional in this industry. It also helps that she is such a genuinely loving and caring person. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Brooke/Angels and Architects is a true professional. From how she manages her business to her excellence in service I have only positive things to say. Brooke takes extensive time to ensure that her clients are listened to and that their desired outcome is achieved. She sprinkles in suggestions that are spoken from experience and competence. I can't speak highly enough about Brooke! I'm usually not one to write reviews, but I feel like it is important to share my experience, which reflects not only the results with my hair but the way I felt and was treated while I received my services. Brooke put an attention to detail into my experience, which made me feel pampered and appreciated. As I was there for an all-over color and Brazilian blowout, she took a great deal of time and consideration in helping me determine the most complimentary brown for my skin tone. It turned out just as I had hoped, btw-- a rich, chocolate brown, with a ton of shine. As for the blowout, I had never had one. I was deciding between a Brazilian and a keratin treatment, and Brooke was able to educate me on the difference between the two services. I was concerned that my already fine, porous hair might not tolerate the service, but she reassured me that the Brazilian actually strengthens each hair follicle. Honestly, it sounded a bit too good to be true, but after seeing and feeling the results, I was blown away. I'm so excited at the amount of time the Brazilian will save me in my morning routine.
I highly recommend Brooke, and look forward to my next appointment with her!

Brooke has been doing my hair for about 3 years. I’ve had a deep brunette color which she always made gorgeous and shiny. I finally realized that, at the ripe old age of 37, I was getting too gray to keep it up. We decided to move toward blonde so the grow out wasn’t as noticeable. I had low expectations as I know that process can involve a lot of orange/brassy ugliness. OMGOODNESS we took the first step today and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Brooke is undeniably a hair magician!! My now-partly-blonde strands are creamy and gorgeous. I was a bit attached to my dark hair but now I’m wondering why I didn’t do this sooner! I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else.

Brooke has been doing my hair for about 9 years, and my blonde is always beautiful. She’s also extremely knowledgeable and great at talking me down a ledge when I have brilliant ideas about layers all over my head for volume, ect, 😂. I just had my first appointment with Brooke and it was wonderful! I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, and she did a great job of helping me figure it out and explaining the process, the upkeep, and options for in between visits. I'm so so happy with the results and highly recommend Brooke, especially for blonde!

Brooke is so talented and always gives me perfect hair that lasts almost a year! She’s the best there is! She also gave me the wedding hair of my dreams.

1st I'd like to say that many of the positive reviews are for other stylists at Sola Salon, not for Brooklyn whose business she calls Angels & Architects. Stylists rent out space at Sola, they are separate with different business names

Brooke knows who I am. I attempted to write a review for her long ago, but I was threatened. I'm tired of being silenced & deserve my freedom of speech to share the facts

I understand why some ladies who can afford to do so, hop on planes to follow their stylists, finding a competent one is not easy. In all these years I have had just 3 salon visits total due to bad experiences, & only 1 after her many years later. None good but none as bad as this one. I feel too many stylists don't understand basic chemistry & math behind how color works unfortunately

I use to have waist length super thick shiny naturally curly no frizz amazing hair. But another stylist made my hair brassy then almost black when I simply wanted a light brown. I then made the mistake of seeing Brooklyn. I was there for a consult ONLY. I told her my entire hair history, my hair had been bleached & colored. I did not want bleach, peroxide or anything harsh in my hair again. She also felt my processed hair

Is there anything I can do to remove the dark without harming my hair I asked. She said she could fix it, but I was nervous after what happened before & couldn't trust so easily. She insisted so I said test strand only. She turned the chair away from the mirror & I couldn't see. I reminded her again, test strand only please & she agreed. She quickly put something in my hair that I could not see & shoved my head under the dryer super fast & left. I began to call for her to come back because it had been so long. Once she finally removed the dryer, I had horrible bright large yellow & orange streaks all over my head! This was her TEST STRAND!? I asked what she did & she admitted to using bleach! I told her I had said NO bleach & she said: well it was lightener, not the same. It IS the same & she had no authority to use it on me!

Worse yet, the next day after showering all the many strands she bleached without my permission BROKE OFF! It was so thin & frizzy, I had to cut so many straggly pieces. I also now had a bald spot! To this day that spot never came back fully. At the time I saw a dermatologist who specializes in hair & she found brand new chemical burns on my scalp. My hair in general was never the same since. I think it was a combination of the condition she left my scalp combined with the stress on my body :(

Literally my hair was the only thing anyone ever complimented me on, people thought my natural hair was extensions. It was my identity & I was so depressed for so long after that that it took its toll on my health then which lead to chronic illness all these years. It wasn't just my hair, it was how she handled it afterwards; not taking any responsibility, no apology, no remorse, just accusations

I later learned she was not licensed in Oregon at the time, though has since become licensed. She knows what she did, she tried to blame the other stylists I saw before her. They got the color wrong, but I never lost hair before I met her & she knew my hair history. I never hid that because I was too afraid to take more risks with my hair. I was very protective of my hair by the time I saw her. I later learned that clarifying shampoo would have removed some of the dark over time, that would have sufficed, but she didn't tell me. I feel she chose to experiment on the hair she said she liked so much. I don't know if it was an intentional or she wasn't skilled

Please understand, there was no misunderstanding between her & myself, I was super clear about what my hair had been through & what I sought. She may have more experience since then, but I would never trust her after how she treated me
