First time going to Roots Cafe and we are hooked! There was so many options it took a while to decide. From inexpensive breakfast and lunch sandwiches to well-crafted entrees, it is definitely well worth it! The service makes you feel at home, and the staff are very welcoming and offer assistance whenever needed. Their positive attitude definitely makes you feel like a valued customer. :)

We ordered: The Italian Skillet, Night & Day French Toast, Chicken Roma, Smoked Salmon Benedict, and Short Rib Benedict

My wife kept suggesting to try out Roots Cafe. We finally stopped in on a Sunday morning for brunch. I had a porkroll, egg & cheese sandwich. What made the sandwich really unique was that it was served on a sourdough roll. For me, that absolutely made the sandwich! My wife had a Chicken Roma sandwich, which she said was delicious!

We were seated right away when we arrived around 11:45am, but a waiting line for a table formed soon after. The service was a tad on the slow side as the restaurant began to fill up. All in all, we had a good experience at Roots Cafe, and I think it's safe to say that we will be back!

Nice and spacious place with good sized menu. We both had the skillets with myself choosing the N’Awlins skillet with andouille sausage, potatoes, peppers and egg on top. The sausage was fantastic and whatever seasoning they had in there was perfect.
The waitress (Joanna I think) was really nice. The only negative was the chairs were pretty uncomfy but we don’t plan of staying for hours on end when we return very soon.

My first time visiting and definitely will not be my last. Great menu items, decent prices, friendly and helpful staff and of course GREAT FOOD. The skillets are amazing, and everything was fresh and hot. We received our orders very quickly even in the mist of a late morning rush!! It can be hard to miss from the street and the exterior is still a work in progress (as most hidden gems are) however the interior is clean, well laid out and comfortable. My new go-to spot for bunch!!

Third visit here, and I am a big fan. The dishes are a mix of classic and inventive, and everything I've tasted has been scrumptious. They're open until 4:30 til the end of the summer, so that's a bonus.

Fresh flavors. The citrus tonic was stimulating.. The decor was clean and country. I was with a party of 4. We each had things from different sections of the menu and each of us was impresssed and satisfied.

We went on a Sunday at 8 am. No seating/ service issues. We ordered veggie skillet and salmon Benedict, love them. The home fries in the picture does not look very appetizing to me (I’m used to more golden browned home fries) but it actually tastes good. Crispy and light. The tonics are awesome. Will definitely come back.

A very clean, spacious decor with the open kitchen in the back of the restaurant. We went for breakfast and the preparation and presentation of the Eggs Benedict were perfect! They also pour a great cup of coffee. Service was attentive and friendly. Don't be in a hurry - good food takes time to prepare.

I highly recommend roots cafe in Mt Laurel. Staff is polite, family oriented and the food is amazing. I had the home made french toast. Wow!! My husband had the Italian skillet- packed with flavor!! Congrats to the owners on their new endeavor and compliments to the chef. Thank you for having us. And the prices are reasonable. Why eat at chains when you can have home cooked meals.

Such a cute place. Everyone was extremely friendly, breakfast was really yummy. I’ve been watching this place in the making since the old restaurant closed down because I pass it everyday on my way to work. I wanted to come try them out, I’m glad I did!

P.S. I’m an interior designer, love the look! One suggestion, I really think you should put a sunflower in a jar on each table :)

Roots cafe provides a comfortable and casual atmosphere. The staff makes you feel very cozy and the openness of the dining area allows you share (and stare) at all the delicious foods and aromas being served. The menu selections can and will satisfy every palette. Whether your a meat eater or vegetarian, there is an entree for you to choose from. Being that this restaurant is owner operated you will see and can possibly be greeted by one of the wonderful owners Kevin and Rachelle Johnson. Dont leave this restaurant without trying the Pineapple Express. It's one of the best freshly made to order beverages I've ever had.

First time here and would definitely recommend! We had quinoa salad, Roots salad and the lemon pancakes and all were delicious. I added chicken to the quinoa salad which was a great addition and blended well with just the right amount of Thai dressing. The lemon pancakes were three 8-inch pancakes which filled the plate with plenty left over for the following morning. Will definitely return!

Well, another excellent farm to table joint in South Jersey. Their shrimp and grits were dynamite. The only thing I would do is raise the spice level a little. They are pretty new and this is their first Spring open.
