DiPaolo’s Red Lion Inn

My wife and I moved out to Lumberton over 20 years ago and never visited the Red Lion Inn. Our first time was in November of last year, and we were very impressed with the food and service. Now, we try to eat there at least once a month, depending on our schedule. The food is fantastic and filling. You don't get small portions. If you haven't been there, stop torturing yourself and go. It will be your new favorite.

We visited this resataurant for the first time last night. It was the best lasagna I ever had. My husband chose the filet and he also said one of the best he has had. Some people have said the decor is a bit outdated but I kind of like it! Piano player was excellent and really added to the retro atmosphere. We loved it so much we are headed back tonight to try the burger.

Update: first I neglected that thank our server Pam from Friday night...she was great.
We went back for burgers tonight and they did not disappoint! Very fresh and cooked to perfection. Our server was Maureen who was also great. No matter what you select from the menu...bring your appetite.
Servings are very generous.

Chef Wendell does a great job, and the staff is very nice and attentive. The sauce (gravy) is super tasty. The ravioli has a lovely, unexpected flavor combination. The Bread Pudding is worth the trip Yum yum

Wondering piano player on the weekends and homemade pasta. Recommend for classic Italian and great atmosphere. Lasagna is amazing and great spaghetti/ravioli mix. Can you guess the special ingredient?

We came to have a late lunch. My first and lasting impression is that walking into the Red Lion is stepping back in time. Could the decor use a refresh? Sure. But look past the superficial. The staff is welcoming and the menu is uncomplicated and deliciously home-style Italian. Portions are insanely generous. When our plates arrived they took up all the space at our table for four. My son has texture issues and asked if the sauce was chunky. Our server happily brought him a cup to sample. For a minute it was like Sunday at Grandma's, with everybody dunking bread in the warm sauce for a taste. In a room that was a flashback to the mid 20th century, the impression was enhanced by the music being played- Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat Cole, Louis Armstrong. Somehow Michael Bublé snuck in there. Otherwise it was music my parents would have played while Dad made the gravy. I declare the food and flavors to be authentically Italian American. You will get better take-out here than if you ordered from the average pizza joint. It's a little far for us to come in regularly, but if I am in the area and hungry, I will be back.

I called to have a meal delivered to an elderly community only to discover they don't deliver. I was heart broken as this is a real opportunity to cash in for this restaurant since this holds a LOT of elderly that are housebound and would love the chance to order a nice meal. This is no bad reflection on this nice restaurant, I jus think they're missing a golden opportunity here.

This week I tried a special of spinach & sausage lasagna. It is, hands down, the best lasagna I've ever had in my whole entire life. And, I've dated a few italians in my life whose nonna's were top notch in the kitchen. I got it to go on Wednesday, and just finished up the leftovers. Each day I said, I have to thank the chef for this. It is magically fantastic. Hint of hidden eggplant, maybe? Sauce is divine. Noods are perfection. I would love to try an end piece, for the crunch. 🤌 If you ever have it on your specials again, put me on speed dial, please. Thank you, Chef! Bowing to the lasagna heavens.

Nice place to relax and have some good food. The food is great. The location is outside the city on the side roads, but easy to find when you put the directions in. The staff is great and very helpful and willing to answer any question you may have.

My family (the DeLorenzo’s of Chambersburg/Trenton NJ who are known for their Tomato Pies) know a thing or two about traditional Italian cooking and traditional Italian restaurants that are family owned for generations. DiPaolo’s Red Lion Inn is one of them. It reminded me of the many restaurants that Chambersburg was once known for. Places like Marsillio’s, Commini’s, Crecco’s, La Gondola, Roman Hall, Rossi’s, Tattoni’s Cafe, Trionfetti’s, Hudson Beer Garden, and on and on…
Loved the food and the old school atmosphere which is very reminiscent of Chick and Nello’s Homestead Inn in Hamilton Township.
So nice to have this kind of place minutes away from our new Medford home!

Homemade pasta and sauce are the best! Very talented piano player George makes it even more special. Nice and excellent waitstaff. This is our favorite restaurant. Decor could use updating but we don't mind older and quirky look, it's comfortable

An absolute staple in town… we LOVE the Red Lion Inn. The bar is always great, the food is FANTASTIC! The staff is exceedingly friendly and professional. Thank you for being the coziest bar around.

We also have had parties here, the quality of banquet food is excellent and just as delicious as the “regular” meals. Our guests were blown away by how fantastic everything was. Thank you for making a great memory for us for years to come!

What a pleasant experience and deelisciouus meal! This was our first, but not last visit. Warm Italian bread with butter and made to order Olive Oil/herb dip started the meal off with mutual head nods from me and my hubby. My house salad was fresh and crisp lettuce mix, beets (I love beets in my saidand carrots. My better half was pleased to have received soup that was actually hot, not to mention with tasty, flavor full mushrooms. When our pasta plates arrived, the aroma from my Alfredo and the meat sauce from my hubby's meat lovers lasagne were amazing! Even the red sauce (gravy) on my meatball was full of perfectly blended flavors. Our lovely and attentive server, Kathy confirmed that they cook their own sauces, and pasta to name a few. We also chatted with Chef Larry who boldly and with humble pride shared his cooking is the best! He didn't exaggerate. Although the Inn is not tops in decor, who cares when the place is clean and the service and food are tops. I usually forget to pay pics and be the time I thought about it, the pics just confirm how large these plates are. Hmm, I can't wait for these leftovers! We both agreed, that we will be back.

Excellent food, Excellent service, Excellent atmosphere! I had a great time for Valentines Day dinner. I had Mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the Strip steak and shrimp was absolutely delicious! Dessert too! The waitress was awesome too, she checked on us frequently. The great piano player added to the awesome atmosphere. I will DEFINITELY be back. ❤

I'm not from around this area but this place was close by . I went to the bar and the bartender , Michelle, was working . She was so nice and welcoming . I had the wedge salad and a meatball sandwich. They were both excellent. The next time I'm in the area I'll bring my wife for dinner .

Have gone here since I was a kid! Special occasions meant homemade pasta with red sauce!! The absolute BEST red sauce I have EVER had! Still drive down to get some quarts of red sauce to freeze. No other place I have been to can compare to it! Thank you to everyone who keeps DiPaolo's Red Lion Inn running!

No lunch and travel got there at 4:30. First ones in the door. By 5:00 p.m. all tables were full. Great food big portions. One piece of pumpkin spice cake was too big for four people to share..

Fantastic food and great service. The fried tomato appetizer was amazing. The pasta which is made fresh every day was amazing. The waitstaff was friendly and efficient.

Everything about this place is exactly was is needed for homemade everything. The pastas,their sauce,their bread,their appetizers. All delicious. Always clean,always friendly. In my opinion, best place to eat for whatever you're craving Italian food wise. Also,they have a pianist come in Tuesdays and Saturdays. He's the best. A little wine and dine with great tunes from the piano. Of course,there's the bar if your not dining in the very open and roomy dining room. The locals there are great and make you feel like one of them. Great atmosphere for 30yrs plus.
