Wilensky Lock and Hardware

This is my go to neighborhood hardware store for small jobs around the house, but today I used their locksmith service for the first time, when my August smart lock conspired against me. Barry saved the day, checked my ID (grateful for the safety check for anyone trying to get into my house) and was friendly and helpful as he got me inside and did some maintenance on the lock to make sure it was locking and unlocking smoothly. Is it more money than I wanted to spend? Yes! Was it in line with what is reasonable and expected for an urgent call? Also yes. Besides, they’ve saved me time and money in the past with their advice about tools and materials, so I got a bargain in the long run.

Got keys copied here, and they’re somehow smoother than the original set! Made 4 sets of 5 keys while we waited. Quick & great service. Lots of color and design options.

Came and repaired a deadbolt that broke and diagnosed the issue that caused the deadbolt to fail, drilled the slot so the bolt would fully engage.

Appreciate when someone does a full repair instead of just fixing the symptom

Got my car keys copied here for a good price. Definitely my go to locksmiths going forward. Forget Home Depot or Lowes and just come here. You'll get better personal service and the price is honestly not that different.

Walking in here may me really thankful to see that these wonder small stores still exist. Amazing care and I felt at home and a since of American Nostalgia. The city needs to support and make it easy for these business to exist.

Wilensky's carries a surprisingly wide variety of products despite having a very small store. I don't have a car so it's a lot easier to stop by Wilensky's to pick up random things I need to do DIY repairs around the house. I don't think I've had one situation where they didn't have something I needed! If you live in the neighborhood, I highly recommend giving them a call to see if they have what you need instead of just going to Home Depot or Lowe's by default.

Successfully changed the locks on my parents home and made them more secure. I’m a contractor who installed a new quarter sawn white oak front door with custom double pane side lights and a Schlage smart lock and put an Amazon deadbolt on the back. Barry was able to make the keys match and be re-keyed from factory to custom. He is the best lock smith I know! -CMLoug
