It took me a while to find it but this small garden is beautiful, even off season.

This 18th century-style garden is a free, serene spot with a latticed gazebo for relaxing that's not far from the historic Independence Hall area. It is maintained by the National Park Service with some seating and it's handicap accessible. We enjoy strolling the garden at different times of year. Given our current drought, it's mainly trimmed boxwood hedges now. The garden was dedicated in 1966 by Ladybird Johnson.

Not a giant garden, but a neatly kept English garden. Worth a stop.

Great hidden gem in Philly that is a quick and easy walk from the major historic sites. Almost always quiet and peaceful. Worth a pass through for anyone trying to imagine what Philly was like back in the 1700's.

This is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. Almost a secret garden hidden in plain sight. There’s a romantic bench in the middle for stealing kisses like it’s 1799.

Everything about this place reminds me of the history of this ancient city. We had a tour guide who took us round while sharing stories of its origin. I loved it here and would visit again if I ever have the opportunity

An exquisite small garden just off walnut st. in old city. So much charm in such a small area. Sit on a bench and transport back in time as you absorb the serene atmosphere.

I visited this spot while sightseeing the Old City. It was an enjoyable stop, quiet and peaceful. It was very pretty and very colonial, and could potentially be a wonderful spot for graduation or wedding photos.
