Popping Yolk Cafe

Came here twice in the span of three days. First time, we ordered the eggs benedict which had super crunchy potatoes that I can't stop thinking about. The star was the ube French toast tho! Second visit, I ordered the smoked salmon croissant sandwich and really enjoyed it! My friends ordered omelets that were unfortunately very runny.

Looking for the perfect brunch destination this weekend, you should definitely check out Popping Yolk Cafe! Popping Yolk Cafe is a super cute and aesthetic brunch cafe with locations in both Hacienda Heights and Alhambra. This local brunch spot serves everything from omelettes to sandwiches to crepes. They also have a variety of beverage such as coffee, tea, and juices.

What I Ordered: Classic Benedict 🥚, Half Order Toffee Banana French Toast 🍌🍯🍞, Popping Yolk Burger 🍔 , Iced Caramel Latte 🧊☕, Fresh Orange Juice 🍊

Eggs Benedict 🥚: Eggs Benedict is a brunch must have. While Popping Yolk offers a variety of unique Benedicts, we decided to stick with the classic. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with just the right amount of Hollandaise sauce.

Banana Toffee French Toast 🍞: If you are someone who loves sweets for breakfast, I’d definitely recommend trying the French Toast. The French Toast is deep fried so it has an incredible crispy texture on the outside but still is nice and soft on the inside. I loved the combination of toffee and banana for toppings.

Popping Yolk Burger 🍔: Whenever I have the option, I always choose to add a sunny side up egg to my burger so when I saw that the burgers here already come with an egg I was egg-static! This burger had all my favorite toppings and was so delicious! 😍

All of Popping Yolks savory entrees come with a generous side of country fried potatoes and garden spring salad. The country fried potatoes were one of my favorite parts of the meal. They are so fun to eat because they are in small bite sized pieces. They are so crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside.

Drinks: As for the drinks, I love that their orange juice is freshly squeezed and you can really taste the difference! It’s so sweet and refreshing. The iced caramel latte had a nice caramel flavor and was was the perfect amount of sweetness.

SERVICE:

I went on a Monday afternoon so it wasn’t very busy. There were a lot of free tables so we got to sit wherever we wanted, inside or outside. We chose to sit outside because their outdoor dining space is super cute and aesthetic. We went to the front to order our food at the register and our food came out super quickly. The server was really nice and efficient. The parking lot here is a bit small but there is more parking on the side nearer to Vons so you will probably be able to find parking relatively easily!

Interesting way to order food and seat yourself. You put in your order and pay up at the front desk and then sit yourself down at any free table. The menu is breakfast centric and has lots of Asian fusion options. Food comes out in a timely manner and is made fresh! Everything we ordered was very tasty. The French toast is so crunchy, it's amazing. Portions are big enough to share between 2 people. You can eat it by yourself, but you'd be pretty full by the end of it.

Friendly staff, quick service, and delicious food, will definitely be coming back!

The food was fantastic. Hands down the best calamari Ive ever had. And the Norwegian benedict was delicious and generously portioned. Its a little bit on the pricey side, but its absolutely well deserved.

Breakfast at this lovely hidden brunch place in hacienda heights. For 20 dollars you can get a gigantic size omelette packed with your choice of style. We ordered California omelette which have mushrooms, avocados and spinach inside and spam kimchi omelette which have spam and kimchi inside. You also get a generous serving of potato’s and salad. We paired our orders with cappuccino.

Can’t finish the plate? Take half home! 😁

Great food location for Asian fusion style brunches. You need to order when you enter the establishment. Once you have ordered, they will give you a number which you will take to your table and staff will bring the food to you. We got the kimchi omelet and the hot chicken benedict very spicy (they have multiple spice levels). Shout of to the potatoes as well, since they hold their weight in taste! Also be careful ordering spicy here, since the food is actually spicy.

When you walk in take a menu and choose the entrées and drinks you want. Pay at the register and the server will hand you a number to take to your table. The server was very attentive after bringing our beverages. It didn't take long for our meals to arrive. I had the Kim Chi omelet and my boyfriend has the classic breakfast. It was the first time I had a salad with breakfast. Food was good. Very clean establishment. Don't forget to tip your servers!

The staff were so kind and attentive. The patio is adorable. Hot chicken Benedict is delicious! The salads were a perfectly fresh crisp complement to everything. I definitely recommend you stop by this little gem.

Delicious, unique brunch food! (My friend and I shared ube french toast and mango habanero omelette.) A bit expensive compared to other nearby brunch restaurants, but the food is much more unique that makes it worth it. Will definitely be back!

Oh wow a new spot worth checking out for a couples date brunch spot not too crowded delicous food crispy potatoes were the star of the show for me. Nice portions and a frriendly atmosphere 👌 would highly recommend.

The fluorine Benedict was amazing. Everything was done to perfection, however was a little pricey. Will definitely come here again though.

We tried the omelet and the French toast. Delicious and good amount of portion. They have fresh squeeze orange juice and fresh brewed coffee. A very good place for brunch. We enjoyed it!!

I've tried it at the Alhambra store, this is the first time for Togo, the California egg roll is not bad, the other two desserts put too much condensed milk, it's too sweet. Takeout is still not as good as dine-in.

This tiny bright yellow building is THE SPOT! We found it last year on vacation and had to come back! We will be stopping in every time we are here!

Wonderful spot for a quick breakfast or brunch. We were a party of three with no wait at 10AM. They don't skimp on portions, so come hungry! I had Norwegian Benedict. Excellent dish with ample smoked salmon and tasty hollandaise sauce. Also, country potatoes are tangy addictive. Seating/Ordering/Seating again process is a little awkward and the Tv's showing food network can go away - the restaurant has enough to offer on it's own so you don't need tv's. Service was very thorough and pleasant. Coffee superb and prices very reasonable! Highly recommend Popping Yolk Cafe and I know I will return.

Their earl grey lattes are great! Good outside dining with heaters and food is pretty good too ~

It's so good. The portion sizes are huge! And thereoutdoor dining which is nooiicee!
