Giants NY Pizza & Subs

Was craving a cold sub but this place delivered a masterpiece! The bread was light, crispy, yet flavorful. We ordered the North Pole, Italian, & NY. The spicy bacon made it bang. We got 2 slices of cheese pizza while we waited & immediately we knew we were going back soon. The mother (I presume) was very appreciative of our business. Well worth the price especially in today's economy.

Giants has everything going for them when it comes to pizza by the slice, so it may be a while before I get to explore other items on the menu. It may seem strange, but the one thing that jumped out at me was that this may be the only by-the-slice place I've ever been to that had convenient parking. Typically these businesses are in neighborhoods that are great for walking (Hawthorne, NW 23rd, inner Division, anywhere in NYC) but you never know how far away you'll need to leave your car.
As for the food, this plus-sized cart turns out lovely slices - perfect ratio of cheese to sauce on a thin crust that has a bit of crunch and a bit of chew. The combination of being able to pull into the parking lot next to the cart, and then get a slice (or two) hot from the oven makes Giants the best kind of fast food experience I can think of.
And, I really want to try their sandwiches some time...

This is the best pizza in Portland. Period.
Here's why:
Great pizza isn't magic. It's making the decision to use real fresh ingredients and not canned food. It's taking the time to proof the dough at the right temperature, stretch the dough by hand to order, bake it on a stone, and not machine press it or bake it on a metal screen. That's not pizza, that's what fakers do.

Real pizza happens when the owners are real bakers who care about what they do. I was in the Pizza biz for 38 years in NYC and LA. I have served and eaten about 1 million pizzas since 1965. Go see their spotless, super clean truck and the hard working family making the best meatball subs, Italian deli sandwiches and the most fantastic pizza ever. They bake the canoli shells and fill them to order. The tomato sauce is amazing.

I almost want to sell my house and move next door to these people. It's that good. Canolis as good as Ferrara's in NYC. This is home cooking, folks. They are professional bakers. Nothing is coming out of a plastic bag and they don't open cans. NY Giants Pizza is the real deal. Call them now. If you are from NYC or Philly or NJ and think you have had great pizza, you will have that experience again. This place is simply amazing.

Came here for dinner two nights ago and got the vegan supremo with mushrooms, banana peppers and tomatoes. It was delicious! We ordered garlic rolls as well and the owner said he made them fresh to ensure they were vegan(no cheese). The pizza was some of the best vegan pizza we've had! We will definitely be back.

I’ve gone to this beautiful Lents neighborhood food truck for over a year now and it’s by far the best spot to get any genre of food they serve; pizza’s crazy, subs are insane and the salads are loaded with flavor!

I've been coming to Giants for years. Even before the cart; when they still ran out of the corner store on 82nd. I've since moved away from lents, but I still make the drive for a giants sammy whenever I can. For me, best sandwich in PDX. The bread is crispy but soft, oil is just right, and the spicy bacon is incredible. The family who runs it, and specifically the mother are the nicest people. My wife and I are always happy to see them and leave with a smile. They are truly a piller of the SE culinary community. Awesome spot, highly recommended.

We got the bianca pizza and it was so good. It's a lighter filling pizza but the taste is amazing. Next time I would add fresh basil to make it the perfect pizza.

5 stars is just not enough. To me, if you can make a basic cheese pie like, being from New York, I'm used to, than you can make anything. Had my first of your pizza yesterday and it was terrific. The best slice pizza in Portland.
Will definitely be back for more!

Amazing pizza! We got the Giant Supreme with vegan cheese (diet sensitivities) and straight up the best pizza we've had in Portland! Every part is amazing - the sauce, crust and topping combos were wicked good! As former New Englanders we love a good NY style to bring us back and this place does it!
The owner is also super friendly and loves to tell you about all of the thought and passion that goes into his cooking. Absolutely going to be coming back to enjoy more delicious food.

Words cannot describe how good their foods are….other than “Mmmmm” to every bite of every food they serve. Recommend everything they have on the menu from Pizza, Calzone, Subs, Garlic rolls to Cannoli. Devastated to lose them twice from 82nd and Holgate and down town, but super happy they are back in Lents neighborhood. Eugene and Pat are the most hardest working people and you can definitely taste their love and care they put on their food. True gem of Portland! Thank you for coming back and continue to serve us your wonderful food!

Always just fantastic.
Our staples are generally a plain cheese 18” pie, and the 12” NY.
I’ve never had a bad item here, but we always come back to these.

Any choice you make here is a good one, so glad to see them back.

I came across Giants NY Pizza by chance, and glad that i did 🙌🏽 I ordered their largest size Hawaiian (by accident) and it was huge! Also had to try their cannoli and pretty decent 👌🏽Overall this little pizza spot is a must try!! 👍🏽👍🏽

Love this place! I couldn't even get home to eat some garlic fries. Their food is on point and their service is above and beyond. The meatball sandwich is one of the best in town. Thank you for being so awesome, see you soon!

Fantastic simple pizza, for a price that's twice as nice. Why roll the dice? Come on down and grab a slice!

I first had food here sometime during the middle of the pandemic and it was very delicious and good portions for the price.

3 years later I can say it's still just as delicious as before and they've added new things to their menu!

The pizza is simple and delicious because of that fact. The garlic truffle fries? Perfect. Not too salty, perfect crunchy crispy outside, surpassed my expectations as I tend to be picky about fries, lol.

The woman that served us was so kind and she informed me that the jalapenos they have are pickled on site which is so cool! They're super fresh because of that and the taste reflects that too.

Only thing I don't like is the location as it's right by a busy road and it's a bit much to eat next to all the noise and traffic. But if you're like me, you'll just set up in your car and eat there with some YouTube on your phone and vibe. 😎

I got a calzone and they made it fresh and it was so delicious! There was a garlic roll but I ate it too fast and didn’t get a picture.

You can tell that the owner is enthusiastic about his food, authentic NY-style italian cuisine. Also make sure to try the garlic rolls, they have the perfect combination of butter, garlic, and crunch.
